I am writing this message in the desperate hope to attract more positive media attention to a tragic situation.

I am hoping help shed light on this situation. If you look at the news originating from the Bakersfield, Ca area, you will see that my friend has been arrested on charges of murder. He and his wife were attacked by a group (at least 2) older teenage individuals (18+) when the went to ask a party to quiet down and stop throwing beer cans at their house. His wife was harmed, he himself was also hurt. The use of lethal force in regards to self defense is the issue that will be pending the decision.

I'm not advocating his actions but am encouraging benefit of the doubt.

This is the link to what the public knows about the situation. We are writing for Kevin because we believe that the local media is portraying the situation in an extremely biased way.

http://www.bakersfieldnow.com/news/local/Army-vet-faces-judge-on-accusation-of-killing-partygoer-144474125.html

This is a man who couldn't wait to get out of high school to join the Army and go protect our liberty. He served in both Kosovo and Iraq. As far as everyone is concerned he is not an individual who would go out of his way to just murder someone. The police are not releasing enough of the facts. The information released to the public is trying to portray that Kevin gunned them down. A comment that was released on a friend/family member of the victim states "...I am sorry that he couldn't just take his ass beating like a man".

This is a travesty that a vet who was protecting his family, in the country that he risked his life, daily, to defend, was denied bail. Information needs to get out about this.

Due to the fact that the media has been to jumping to report without having proven facts, a Facebook page has been created in order to better inform people as information is released.

Also, the police report has been made public:

"Details: On 3-24-12 at 0239 hours deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Metro Patrol Division were dispatched to a victim of a shooting in the 600 block of Orchid Dr. in Oildale. When deputies arrived they found Dillon Wilson, 19 years old of Bakersfield lying in the roadway with apparent gunshot wounds. Medical aid responded and pronounced Wilson dead at the scene. Another subject, Richard Taylor, 18 years old of Bakersfield had also been shot. Deputies were told by several witnesses there had been a party at one of the houses in the 600 block of Orchid Dr. A neighbor, Kevin Kingsbury, 28 years old of Bakersfield became upset with the party and confronted several of the party goers in the street. A verbal altercation erupted, which led to a physical fight between Kingsbury and several of the party goers. Kingsbury produced a gun and shot Wilson several times, where he collapsed and died in the street. During the confrontation Taylor was shot once in the upper torso by Kingsbury. Taylor was transported to Kern Medical Center for treatment of his gunshot. He is listed to be in stable condition at this time. Kingsbury was taken into custody by deputies at his residence. Homicide detectives were called to the scene and started an investigation. Detectives arrested Kingsbury for P.C 187(a), murder and P.C 245(a)(2), assault with a deadly weapon. Kingsbury was booked into the Kern County Jail, Central Receiving Facility."

Drove down to Tacoma to see My Life in Black and White tonight. I was iffy since it's a bit of a hike, and I didn't know about the show til the last minute. I had never seen em live but recently got addicted to one of their CDs, and was told that they put on a good show. Holy fuckin balls... best live show I've seen in a long time. They are playing with The Spittin Cobras in Portland next Friday. If you can make it, you should go...it's guaranteed to be an amazing show. I'm going to try to go. I have class at 8:30am on Saturday, so it'll be rough.

Stayed sober. I'm really loving the whole not waking up with a hangover thing. So, it made it all the more hilarious when my best friend, thejoeshow, got wasted and was trying to tell us that his address was "1011 North unicorn slash dragon street. Thats dragon...with an L."

Stopped off at Jack In The Box on the way home... have a belly full of the sampler trio (mozz stix, jalapeno poppers, and eggrolls... F yeah), and my brain is slowly going into sleep mode. So, I will sign off... if you haven't done it yet, check out my last blog (so you can check out The Spittin Cobras). While you're at it, check out My Life in Black and White.

Cheers.

It's a video/brief documentary from their last tour. It was mayhem.
