this was a weekend that started off horribly and then panned out alright.
took my friend to the airport on friday to fly to new york, and he left me his car for the month while hes gone. after returning from the airport dropping him off, some old man backed into the front fender of my car as i was turning into a parking space. it was 100% his fault, but i am driving a car which is not mine without any insurance myself. gah.
i then went out that night and lost the car keys at a bar. they fell off my keychain while i was there, and of course, i couldnt get back in to find them until 5pm the next day, requiring me to have my friends car towed to my house from the TL before city car tow could get to it and charge me a ton (if i could even get it out without his presence). i DID however find the keys that evening when the bar opened back up which was good news. but jesus. 24 hours with a car reminded me why i dont own a car anymore. its such a headache and pain in the ass most of the time. for now, it is stowed away in my garage until i need to leave the city.

there are times when it makes itself more apparent
sometimes
just sometimes
it actually does feel a little empty
i can settle down and be doing just fine
til I hear an old train rolling down the line
then I hurry straight home and pack
and if I didnt go, I believe id blow my stack
i love you baby, but you gotta understand
when the lord made me
he made a ramblin' man.

"God is a concept,
By which we can measure,
Our pain,
I'll say it again,
God is a concept,
By which we can measure,
Our pain,
I don't believe in magic,
I don't believe in I-ching,
I don't believe in bible,
I don't believe in tarot,
I don't believe in Hitler,
I don't believe in Jesus,
I don't believe in Kennedy,
I don't believe in Buddha,
I don't believe in mantra,
I don't believe in Gita,
I don't believe in yoga,
I don't believe in kings,
I don't believe in Elvis,
I don't believe in Zimmerman,
I don't believe in Beatles,
I just believe in me,
Yoko and me,
And that's reality.
The dream is over,
What can I say?
The dream is over,
Yesterday,
I was dreamweaver,
But now I'm reborn,
I was the walrus,
But now I'm John,
And so dear friends,
You just have to carry on,
The dream is over. "

so wheres the spark? where is the light that never goes out? perhaps skyrocketing oil prices are now affecting the cost of the kerosene keeping the fire lit?
whats the deal? whats your trick?
"If I make it through today,
I'll know tomorrow not to leave my feelings out on display.
I'll put the cobwebs back in place.
I've never been to good with names,
but I remember faces."

as summer burns
as summer scolds
i wish that i should be as bold
and with the scorn
of summers past
a layer that peels
deludes too fast
and in its wake
a softer skin
to remit its course
and fade again

im pretty confident people in kentucky communicate by scrawling messages on the bottom of their meth pipes as they pass it around. talk about culture shock.
flying home sunday, hopefully the flight back will be less vicious as the flight here.
looking forward to next weekend.
"well I see that the world is upside-down
seems that my pockets were filled up with gold
and now the clouds, well theyve covered over
and the wind is blowing cold
well I dont need anybody, because I learned, I learned to be alone
well I said anywhere, anywhere, anywhere I lay my head, boys
well I gonna call my home"
listen to bob seger.
