A new update....
To get this out of the way, while we are not oficially together anymore, we are still very much into each other, me and my Fran, we love each other, a LOT, "yo la amo mucho" and all that... so yeah... (long distance relationships are hard...man...)
Because I stopped writing in here for so long I have now so much to put on here...
A few things:
1. This past few months I have felt in love with a writer that passed away not so long ago... Donald Westlake is among the best writers living right now... He wrote so much, and he kept such a high standard of quality for his many tales...my favs are the Dortmunder series of books, which I recommend to anyone looking for tales about thieves and anyone looking for a few long laughs... I am glad that there are so many Westlake books out there, waiting to be discovered and read by you and everyone else...
2. I have been bookmooching like a motherfucker... I have tons of new books...and I have discovered a lot of new authors thru it...I strongly recommend it to anyone interested in books and reading...
3. I am still a hardcore fan of Alberto Fuguet...I feel as if he writes only the stuff I need/want to read...I devoured his "Apuntes autistas" and his latest novel, "Las peliculas de mi vida"... I loved also the coincidence, I am in love with a Chilean and I am very curious about all of Chile, the history, culture, music...I learned a lot with this tale, Fuguet's latest must-read book.

Another update, yeah!!
I am currently saving money for a trip to Chile to visit my love...reading a lot, listening to a lot of music, watching tons of films, futboll matches and waiting for the World Baseball Classic to start again (it starts in March). I am also, getting out from the sorrow of losing my dad last year... As part of that process I am starting again, to keep a diary, which I stopped doing, and now I miss a lot...
I am currently reading a few books, but I am focusing on "Las Benevolas" by Jonathan Littell and "Las peliculas de mi vida" by Alberto Fuguet. The first one, is the story of a Nazi official, writing his memoirs from the war, especially, the Soviet invasion, Stalingrad, etc...The second novel, is about a chilean seismologist who used to love cinema...but something happened along the way, growing up, that made him bitter, and he is realizing, by a chance meeting with a women on a plane, what went wrong with him and his chance at happiness...
I love my Fran...and I want to be with her right now...it sucks, that she lives so far away...oh well...I will visit her, and it will be the best of times, for both of us...I know it...anyway...I will write more soon, maybe tomorrow...Cheers to all!

Her name is Francisca Javiera Medina Perez...she is so pretty....La amo tanto...TANTO!!!
Hello to all! This is my latest entry, and the first of the month of August, hopefully the first one of many to written regularly, like I used to...
First of all, I am doing better, about my dad's death and all...My friends have helped a lot and, also, all the exercise I have been doing lately, so yeah, I am glad...relaxed, considering...
I have been doing a lot of work, watching a lot of the Olympic Games and sports in general and also a lot of reading and listening to music...and I made two new and, so far, amazing new friends...
But first of all, let's write a bit about books:
I have been reading a LOT of crime and suspense books, most of it published either by Hard Case Crime or Black Lizard..I am hooked with both publishers...
Among the books I have read are the following: "Red Cat" by Peter Spiegelman, "Money Shot" by Christa Faust, "Songs of Innocence" by Richard Aleas, "The Confession" by Domenic Stansberry, "Deadly Beloved" by Max Allan Collins, "Home is the sailor" by Day Keene, "He kills Coppers" by Jake Arnott, "No house limit" by Steve Fisher, "The long firm" by Jake Arnott, "Drama City" by George Pelecanos, "Truecrime" by Jake Arnott, "Severance package" by Duane Swierczynski, "The death and life of Bobby Z" by Don Winslow and many others...
My fav movie this month is "Eagle vs. Shark" and, if you have not seen it by now, do yourself a favor a rent it, NOW!
My two new friends are named Francisca and Guisselle, and I met them thru facebook, which, I think is not as useless as other people seem to think. Actually, Guisselle met me, she made the first approach and she seem friendly enough, and also, I thought she had great literary and musical taste, which intrigued me. Now, after many weeks of talkig with her constantly I think she might be a new, great addition to my group of very dear and amazing friends, and hopefully, we shall meet soon, in person, because she, and Francisca, both live in Chile.
Francisca is Guisselle best friend and she introduced us. And I think she is amazing:smart, cool, pretty, sexy, veryeasy to speak to...I like her a lot...and I am very grateful and happy that both seem to enjoy my friendship as much as I love and treasure them
To finish this entry: there is a chance that I might get a new job...so I am happy for that too!
Have a great week you all, I miss you all, and I will try to be more active

It has been a while...I want to thank everyone who has been a friend thru these hard times...It has been a struggle, but I think I am doing okay, considering...I miss all of you...
It sucks that my new journal entry has to be a sad one...my dad died yesterday at home...so yeah, I am now fatherless...
But I am doing okay, so do not worry, he was in a lot of pain, and it was a long time coming...he had so many things wrong in his body, he was in a lot pain in the end, so it is good that he died sleeping...anyway, yeah, my dad was a great dad, and it is good that he died around the people he loved the most...
Wow, it has been a long time since the last update...anyway...
What I have been doing lately:
1. I have been mooching a lot, check this website out: www.bookmooch.com It is a site for the exchange of books you do not want anymore and getting books you really want! I have traded and gotten tons of books, I have read works by authors unknown to me and made many literary discoveries! I am very obsessed with it, and I strongly recommend it to any fans of reading.
2. I have been reading a lot!!!! And I discovered a few authors: Lawrence Block, Harlan Coben, Robert Littlell, Janwillem Van Der Wetering and others. I also read Simon Reynolds' book about post punk (and I loved it!!), a few books by Neil Stephenson, a bunch of the Gre Rucka's graphic novel titled "Queen and country", etc.
3. I got to write about music, hopefully before the weekend...
I am leaving for a resort on vacation, starting on Saturday, so yay for me!! I wish you all tons of love, bye

Two updates in a week, believe it or not!
My friend Elga is in Barcelona since late on Friday night, doing more work for her thesis. I am glad and happy for her, hopefully she will get a lot of work done and be able to make lots of contacts for further research on the world of futbol and politics.
My dear friend Keren did not get the flight attendant job, she is sad and I am sad for her, hopefully she will get a job at another airline, because I know that it is a job that she will be good at and that she will reap a lot of benefit from it. Anyway, I keep hoping that she will find a job like that, that makes it easy for her to travel and see the world!!
I will write more later in the week, I love you all

I have been so bad at keeping a journal this last few months...
Anyway here is a bit of me:
I had a great day on Friday! After waking up feeling sad, depressed about me and my friends' job situation, i hung out with dear friends Wendolyn and Melvin at Borders. Afterwards I ran for a bit while watching sport shows and also a rerun of the Independent Spirit awards ceremony and afterwards I went to Inocencia's house with Keren to hang out and watch a dvd. We settled on "The real Betty Page" which was very good, way better than I expected, it could be watched as a double feature alongside "Good night and good luck". Also we celebrated Inocencia's new job and and I am hoping that Keren's gets a job as a flight attendant for wich she was interviewed on Friday morning.
I finished eary last week Neil Stephenson's "Cryptonomicon" and I LOVED IT!! It is my fav book so far this year. I enjoyed a lot a few characters and would not mind to read another tale featuring Lawrence Pritchard Waterhouse, Randy Waterhouse, Alan Turing, etc. I loved the paranoia, the geekyness, the conspiracies, the weird observations, the humour!!! I strongly reccomend this book, the best book I have read this year.
I loved this book so much that I inmeadiately started on the first book that comprises "The Baroque cycle" and so far it is very very good. Robert Hooke as a character is a lot of fun!!
I will finish this right now, and hopefully I will write more later in the week, tons of love to all
PS My fav albums right now are the soundtracks to "The Darjeeling Limited" and "Juno", my fav band is the Kinks and my fav song is "Loose Lips" by Kimya Dawson, who is also one of my fav artists right, as is the Moldy Peaches!! If you want to listen to feel-good beautiful music, go and listen to the "Juno" soundtrack!!!
