I don't update this much, and when I do all I seem to do is post photos. Here's some from my new 60D:

I upgraded my lens to a 24-105 f/4 L series and bought a 580EXII flash. Here's a bunch of random photos I've taken lately.

First photo shoot I did went really well. Girls were real nice and I got a lot of good pictures!

Maybe someone will read my blog now that there are boobs in it. Ha! Probably not.

My photography has really improved over the past 8 months or so. I finally go around to getting a new lens aside from the kit one and now I'm really addicted to taking pictures. I learned a lot with the kit lens, but having a zoom lens opens up a lot more options. My original intent was to learn how to shoot people (glamour, pinup, weddings, etc) since this site has been a bit inspiration to me, so I'm going to start looking into learning that. So far I've only been doing outdoor things like scenery and animals.

I signed up for a workshop for this weekend. I'm going to be shooting two Czech nude models. It seems very intimidating since I've never shot people or in a professional studio, but I talked to the guy running it extensively and he said he will show me everything and not too worry. I know both the models are professional and have done tons of shoots. I'm a bit worried about not being able to direct things. It will be fun to finally learning lighting and see what shooting in a studio is all about though.

I'm actually a fan of one of the models I'll be shooting. I've always loved the sets she's done so it will be fun to meet and work with her.

Haven't updated in awhile. I found out my job is being outsourced to India because it's cheaper. I will be laid off anytime between now and 2 years. It is sounding like it will be in around six months or less though. I hated my job anyways so I'm just going to continue looking for something else, and if nothing pans out unemployment will pay the bills. I'm shocked that they cut 500 jobs out of 2000 total. I thought health care IT would be a pretty safe field with Obama's whole digitalizing medical records thing. Guess he did create a lot more jobs...in India.

On the positive side I'm getting much better at photography. I still have a couple hundred images on my laptop I need to run through Photoshop and mess around with.

Football season starts in a week. Can't wait!!

I moved to West Chester with my friend to save some cash. Should be doing a lot better with someone to split the bills with now.

Just got a dog from the SPCA last week. He's a badass who enjoys waking me up at 3am. He just got neutered today so he's moping around.




Random thought: the chick from Mythbusters is hot.

I decided to actually tally up all my spending since I appear to be bleeding money for the past year or so. Last month I spent around $500 more then I make! It never even hit me until I sat down and did the math. I should be putting $400-500 in the bank each month. I'm going to not buy anything I don't need this month. I'd like to buy a house in a few years but that's not going to happen if I keep drawing from my savings rather then adding to it.

I was dating this girl for awhile but she broke up with me by cutting off contact. What the fuck is up with that? Picking up the phone and just saying she didn't want to see me anymore would have been more respectful. I thought everything was going well and on our last date she said she wanted to do something during the week. Oh well, moving along.

I'm glad it's finally warm out. I've been taking a lot of pictures lately with my new camera. I'm finally starting to get all the options on it down and have been taking better pictures.

Fuck my job.

The photography thing has been a lot of fun to learn. Finally getting a hang of my camera and everything it does. Now I just have to get better at all the fun things like lighting, angles and all that fancy stuff. I wish it wasn't so fucking cold outside so I would be more inspired to go out and shoot random stuff. We are supposed to get 12 inches of snow tomorrow and I hate the cold more then anything else.
