I agree with you. I don't think the issue it with legal gun owners. It's the people who have guns who don't own and operate legally there is always an issue with

I feel like gang members and people who are part of crime organizations will still be able to get guns illegally even if gun control laws are passed. However, I think people experiencing a mental break will have a much harder time obtaining a gun if gun control laws are passed. It just makes sense. If policies and procedures are put in place that make owning a gun as tedious as getting a drivers license, it might deter the mentally ill from even trying to obtain one. We all know gun control won't stop people from killing people, but maybe we could make the acquisition of a gun more difficult for people who are mentally ill or have a criminal background.
