Almost a month since my last blog! Lots happened, lots changed.

I got a job transfer at work so I could move from North Carolina back to my home state of Michigan. I thought I'd be moving away from hillbillies, highons, and hippies but its just the same here. I took a pay cut to move so I'm not exactly sure the whole Best Buy thing will work out too much longer because I thought the quality of life with my job would increase with the move and it appears that it has not. Perhaps I'll change my mind if I see a bonus check for putting up with this bullshit. At least back in North Carolina I was working with the Geek Squad, which is the cushiest department to be in, and it pays super well.

I did buy a car right after the move. Quality automobiles are somewhat cheaper in michigan, mostly because everyone is like 1 sick day away from forclosure here but at least I now have a reliable car.

I actually instigated this move to be with Azkadellia. Things have been going well on that front. Most everything I own is still in boxes but I got here just in time to get back to work so there really hasnt been much downtime to unpack. Its also been an adjustment as this house is full of animals. 6 dogs, 2 cats, 4 chinchillas, and one of the dogs just had puppies.. there are 8 of the little guys.. Its also an older house so there's some things that could use a handymans skills. So between trying to cohabitate with so many pets, trying to keep the fuzz to a minimum on everything, and my natural inclination to clean and fix things, most of my downtime is filled improving my environment to a state where I can be comfortable here.

I have tomorrow off, and I'll spend some of it cleaning, but most of my personal to-do list I did after I got out of work today. So maybe, just maybe, I'll be lazy and play some video games in between unpacking a few boxes.

Hope to see more of you kids soon, until then I hope its all easy livin and sexy lovin.

Dear mother of all hangovers.

Last night, I raged.

With Flogging Molly.

The bassist is sweet on my sister and we all went out before the show they were playing yesterday. We went to a high end restaurant, where I couldn't afford a damn thing on the super fancy menu. I decided I was just going to drink beers.

I had been complaining how hungry I was before I got a look at the menu. So the guys were surprised when I didnt order food. I told them I was just a broke kid and the place was too expensive for me. They offered to buy me food, but I declined. I told them I wasnt used to taking freebies. So I just sat and bullshitted with them while enjoying some brews. Shots were bought, and drank, and we were having a good time. When everyones food showed up, I'm sure I was looking like a fat kid in a cake shop. Someone asked for an extra plate, and when it arrived they said "pride goeth before the fall" and everyone took a portion of their food and put it on the plate and they passed it to me. "No one is buying you anything, we are sharing what is ours", Nathan said. They found a loophole in my arguement. I ate. Very well. And it was very good.

They gave me an all access pass to the show. I got to sit behind the sound board. I used to run the multitracker for my own band.. and I'm a total nerd.. so I was mesmerized by it. Their sound guy, Chris, is a super awesome guy and noticed my interest and showed me how the big boards work.. giving me the run down on how he pre-programs the levels for each song. It was kick ass. I love music and tech, running a board would feel natural to me.

After the show we went backstage and enjoyed some moonshine. VIP fans were let in and we all had a great time.

I had to work this morning at 9:30. I felt like dogshit. Somewhere along the line I took a fall and left a huge bruise on my ass (I hope it was a fall, anyways). I've been trying to get rid of this hangover all day. I even made my sister stop my McDonalds last night on the way home, hoping some sleepytime food would ward it off. But no. Nothing is stopping it.

I remember when I could drink for 3 days straight and end up with a 1 day hangover.. These days I drink for 1 day and have a 3 day hangover. Getting old is a son of a bitch.

Just ask the guys in Flogging Molly.

Back in Michigan.

Time to box my life up again.

Time to start the rest of my life.

Today was a good day. I was in a fantastic mood all day long, and it resonated with my clients and my coworkers. I made people smile. I made a lot of money (for my company). I thought "well, this isnt so bad."

But today isnt like most days.. most days I deal with self centered hippy assholes, or country bigots who wait to talk to me with their jacked up teeth and bad breath because they dont want my black coworker to touch their computer. Or the fat families who are too lazy to learn a damn thing and take up my entire department with just 4 people's worth of lard and gravy stained shirts stretched to capacity.

I'm super fucking sick of this town. I was going to say "the South" but who knows, that might not be true. I've experienced only a small cross section of the South and maybe just maybe there's a place full of tolerant intelligent southerners where I might totally feel at home. But this isn't it. I have to dumb myself down every day just to be understood and it makes my brain scream at me.

So I'm moving. I'm moving back home. I'm not sure when, but its happening. I decided where I wanted to move and sent out emails to the management at all the stores in a 50 mile radius. Times are tough and positions are sparse but sooner or later people will realize WHAT A FUCKING CATCH I AM and fight for the chance to have me.

There's lots of part time positions available, but I cannot step down to part time. I need insurance, and I need to make ends meet.. Start saving for a future. I've got a phone interview for a full time spot tomorrow, its not in the department I want, but its in the store I'd prefer, so its not too bad. So long as I dont have to take a pay cut. Another store is going to try and "create" a position for me, thanks to numerous letters of recommendation from my supervisors and upper management.. so there is that.

Hopefully, I won't be here much longer. I dont know how much more hillbilly hell I can stand.

For those of you in the area, I will be throwing a huge party to send me off. I'll let you know.

A young woman stepped forward from the throng and asked, "Oh great Prophet, tell us how we might find love that is unconditional, unwavering, and unending"

The Prophet did not answer right away. He looked off into the distance, gathering his thoughts. Silence descended upon the crowd. Then he turned his gaze upon the young woman and said, "Get a dog"

Hopefuls shooting Multi's. Generally, terrible. SG also doesn't ever buy them. But how about this one.

I'm not sure how I feel about it.. originally I thought it was a silly idea, with the photoshopping they did on the second girl. But the more I looked through the set the harder it was to deny that this was sex art, which is what SG is all about.

Your thoughts on this set/format?

So's, back to the real world, eh?

Took a bit off work the past week or so, had Azkadellia come visit. We spent a lot of time enjoying each others company. Showing her around the mountains. We rang in the new year together:

Had some adventures, met some new people, made some plans for the future.

I rang 2012 in with a vacation. Which kind of feels like something I should make a permanent fixture. I started this year with a smile, I was well rested, and it gave me a lot of focus for the coming months. I do believe it'll become an institution.

There are some exciting things on the horizon. 2012 might actually be awesome. Stay tuned, because if good shit can happen to me, it can happen to anybody.
