If you saw my last blog, then you know that I spent my weekend being a wild woman....go figure!
I'll start with my concert on Sunday, since I'm kind of short on time this morning but wanted to get these pictures posted and give ya'll the 411 on the show....My daughter qtshooter and I took a road trip to Boise, or just west of Boise in Nampa, ID, to see an outdoors festival. Here we are just arriving, after a three and a half hour drive:

*********************************************************************************

***********************************************************************************

and the venue*****************************************************************
The show included the following bands:
Seether, Shinedown, Sick Puppies, Red, Hurt and a few others that I'd not really heard of before (you know the ones, the bands that open on the second stage at 4:30 when the gates first open) Anyway, it was abso-freakin'-lutely an amazing show!! The weather was perfect for an outdoor concert, beautiful blue skies and hot without being too hot. I kind of felt sorry for the dummies that did not sunscreen first, they were pretty easy to pick out of the crowd after about the first 45 minutes or so as they turned deeper and deeper shades of red and purple
Just kind of makes you wanna go...."UH....hello... 6 hour long outdoors concert in Southern Idaho during August, and it didn't occur to you to use sunscreen first?? DEE-DEE-DEE!
" But...I digress.
Qtshooter and I got there just shortly after the gates opened, which turned out to be perfect because we were able to walk right in and right past the throngs of people who were gathered just inside the gate to watch the local band that had won that opening slot on the second stage that I mentioned above. We were starving, but decided that we'd go stake out a spot for our blanket and chair first and then worry about the rest...and I'm glad we did because we found a spot on a just perfect grassy little hill that had just enough slope so that you would see over the people in front of you, and were both able to see the main stage very well
After we got settled in, found some food and bought some shirts the first band started on the main stage. They were just OK, so it worked out perfectly for us that their time slot on stage was the time slot that Seether was in the autograph booth down on the main grassy area....so I bailed on qtshooter and hopped in the line that was for-EVAR long to get Seether's autographs for the both of us. Was able to get some phone pictures, sorry they aren't great quality but you can only do so much with a camera phone!

************************************************************************************

**********************************************************************************
The lead singer was SO awesome about letting people take pictures with him, but honestly after watching him do it for 30 minutes solid, I just didn't have the heart to make him do it again! I was one of the last people in the line before they cut it off, and kind of just felt lucky to have had the chance to get some autographs and take the pictures that I did! And I gotta say that they were all TEH Nicest guys...The bass player saw the SG tank top that I was wearing and busted into a big smile and said "I love your shirt!", as it would turn out he's a big, big SG fan as well
I got back to my seat just in time for the Sick Puppies, who are one of my favorite bands EVAR! This was the second time that I've seen them, and they never, never, never disappoint. They just plain flatout ROCK on stage, and they sound just everybit as good live as they do on their debut CD "Dressed up as Life". If you do not have that CD yet, I'm telling you it's one of the best debut CD's you will ever have the pleasure of listening to, I can't stress it enough how great it is...every single song on it it really, really good. OK, shameless Sick Puppies plug is over now...back to the show

***********************************************************************************
They played for about 45 minutes, and by the time they were done the whole place was on their feet...jumping, screaming and moshing down in the pit. Sick Puppies played most of their CD, along with a cover of "Say my name" by Destiny's Child that is actually really very good. We had a ball! I would see them again, anyday, anytime, anywhere!!
Once they were off stage, they headed down for their turn in the autograph booth and through a struck of great luck, qtshooter and I ended up first in line for them. (long story)

*********************************************************************************
Again, they were all really incredibly cool about being there to sign even though it was in the mid-nineties and they had just gotten off stage and were drenched in sweat. Simon' the lead singer reached up and grabbed my daughter's hand and kissed it while sayin' thank you to her, and I think she just about passed out on the spot from her excitement! Can't say that I blame her, cuz he's a really hawtie
Next up was Shinedown, and I have to be honest and tell you that I wasn't AS thrilled to see them as I was Sick Puppies and Seether
But.....they put on one of the best show's I've seen in a really long time! I'm SO bummed because I was able to catch clips of the show on my cellphone, but have yet to figure out a way to get them off the phone and uploaded, so you'll just have to settle for a picture instead:

*********************************************************************************
I was really very impressed that Shinedown made a very special effort on more than one occasion to let everyone their know that they were dedicating the show to the members of the armed services that were there home on leave from Iraq and Afghanistan...and I thought that was really very cool
I've not picked up their new CD yet, but am planning to after seeing the show!
Next up was Seether as the headliner, and they put on one hella show as well! One of the reasons that I love them is that they have so many types of sounds and songs, and they played most all of there singles off each of their three (?) CD's. The one and only thing I'd say was kind of a bummer was that they played way too many extended intro's to their songs, but other than that they were right on the money and just lit that place up with a light show that you wouldn't believe!!
If you've got a chance to see any of these bands, ya just gotta go! They all just freakin' ROCKED that place
So, this is the place in my blog where I get a little sappy...so be warned!
I spent the WHOLE entire time I was there on Sunday thinking about Flashmo, and wishing that he was there with me... I felt so guilty having fun while he was stuck in VanNyes by himself and just missed him terribly. It just doesn't matter what it is that I am doing, it's just not the same without him by my side
Well, gotta run and get ready for my doctor's appointment this morning...so the story about getting lost on the way back in the little town from the twilight zone will have to wait for another day
Much loves to you all...especially to my favorite lurker, you know who you are!

Just a quick note today...getting ready to head to Boise for a concert!
qtshooter and I are going to see Seether, Shinedown and Sick Puppies this afternoon
I'm excited for the show, and I'm sure the roadtrip will be a ball with her as well...I only wish that my honey Flashmo was here to go with us
Ya'll do me a favor and stop by "his place" and leave him a message for me today! I feel kind of guilty that I will be having fun today while he's stuck in Van Nyes with a bunch of poop heads that don't want to do anything on their days off...so if you would help keep him company today while I'm gone I'd really appreciate it
I'll have a better blog tomorrow after the show, I'm sure! Had a drunken night at the titty bar last night as well...lots of good stories there too! But, I gotta get cleaned up and take some nekkid pictures to send to my love before I go, so I'm signing off for now.
Yeah, I know...the queen of the monster blog just may ruin her reputation with this shorty post today
Hope the rest of your weekend is kickin' it!!

Is it my imagination...or has it just been for-EVAR since I have posted a proper blog?? *jeesh!!* What a slacker!!
It's just been one of those weeks, I guess...Flashmo left on Monday and it seems like it's been pandemonium ever since
So, yeah...think I will start with the new job! I started my new job on Monday as well, and I can tell already that I am going to really, really like it there
I can't believe how quickly you can get out of the habit of working though! This last week has been kind of a challenge remembering how to gracefully juggle working full-time and keeping up on chores, home responsibilities, etc. For those of you who didn't catch my blog last week, I got a job with a non-profit here in town that works with developmentally disabled kids and adults to teach them the life skills necessary to successfully integrate into the community. *whew! What a mouthful * It's a pretty cool thing, and I am really excited to be a part of their efforts. I'm working as a records and billing clerk for them, and of course the perennially favorite "other job duties as assigned"
It's been really great so far...it's nice to be somewhere that:
#1 They want me to be there- My last job at the University was such a nightmare! Even after being there for three months I never felt comfortable there, or welcomed by the staff in any way. The very first day at my new job I knew it was going to be different
My new boss is ecstatic to have me there, and everyone there has gone out of their way to make sure that I feel right at home.
#2- You are trained to do your job, and know what is expected of you- Gee…What a concept!!
There was absolutely no training at my last job...My supervisor seemed to have little patience for it and I never had a clear picture as to what the actual expectations were for the role. In the new job, my boss sat down with me right away and outlined her expectations, and she's been a great trainer as well.
#3-Everyone is easy-going, and I am accepted for who I am- Everyone at my new job seems so down-to-earth, and UBER laid-back, which is SO refreshing after the pretentiousness that was so rampant at the University! Best I can tell, they all seem to get along as well. The other thing that's awesome is that I don't have to hid my arm tattoo! The very first day my trainer told me that several people had visible tattoos in the office, and I was so relieved. The office is also very casual; we can wear jeans, shorts, sandals, etc.
#4 The work is interesting, challenging and rewarding- I'm so excited to be a part of something that involves making a difference in the lives of others! How cool is that?? And, the work is challenging and interesting to me as well…I am looking forward to the opportunity to learn some new skills, too.
All-in-all, I guess I should thank the beotch who let me go from my last job!!
Flashmo and I had an amazing week while he was home last week, and it was difficult to see him leave again on Monday. It's going to be another really long month until he can get home again in September! I am however; really very grateful for the time that we had together while he was home, it was a very special week and that will help over the next 25 days until I can see him again. I was glad that I didn't have to work while he was home, the timing on starting my new job was absolutely perfect. We spent the week catching up with each other, having lots and lots and lots of incredible sex, eating great food, hanging out around the house, riding motorcycles and 4-wheelers and going to the titty bar together…and I think we slept a little while he was home, too
It was kind of like a week-long date
The last night he was home we went for ice cream on his motorcycle, and ended up taking the long way home, which ended up being about 25 or 30 mile detour…OMG! I had such a blast
I just love riding with him; 4-wheelers and bikes both. And, now I have decided now that I want my own bike so that we can ride together. He's my very best friend, and I just love that we can enjoy ourselves together doing just about anything, you know?
Other than that, this week my son went ahead and took the plunge into holy matrimony
He's now the adult that he has so desperately wanted to be, and is working on finding a place to live...I had just started thinking that he had changed his mind about the whole marriage thing, and then on Friday I got a call on my cell phone from him saying that I had a new daughter-in-law. He's not told his grandparents yet, and until they find an apartment I don't expect that to change anytime soon. ...Flashmo and I don't speak with his parents much these days, so it's really up to the boy kid to break the news whenever he's ready. I figure that they didn't give us a heads up when they were making arrangements for our son to leave home and move back to Spokane to live with them, why should I give them a heads up now? Anyway, I wasn't quite ready for married children yet…but what do you do?
On a lighter note, my daughter will be starting school here next week and was finally granted resident status at the University. We have had the best time hanging out this Summer while she's been home, and while her Dad's been working out of town! Yesterday we went down to Old Town and checked out the Farmers Market together, and then went to see the Bannock Country Fair. We didn't have a lot of luck with our timing yesterday, but we sure had a lot of fun together!!
When we got to the Farmers Market at 1:00pm, they were just starting to fold up shop for the day
I'd not been to it yet, and was expecting it to be mostly produce…I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had quite a variety of items for sale. I got a few pictures while we were down in Old Town:

He was a beauty!!
****************************************************************************

It's pretty neat down there...
*******************************************************************************
After the Farmers Market, we hit a few antique stores on the way back to the car and each found a treasure for.Flashmo. qtshooter got her dad this:

It's made from Teak...
***************************************************************************
and I got him this:
]

I love how connected they are!
**********************************************************************************
We headed to the Fair after that, and although it was not what I had been expecting either, it was a hoot dinking around with the kid! The fair in Spokane was pretty jinormous, with lots of rides and carnival games, animals, etc. so I was surprised to see that the Bannock Country Fair didn't have any of those things. It was almost entirely made up from exhibits of the Fair entries by different age groups, with some planned activities intermingled throughout the day. The only rides were being given by the local National Guard Unit; they were giving rides in one of their big rigs around the grounds! We ate some great fair food though, and saw some really cool things in the exhibits. Got a few pictures there as well:

I've got some new flower pictures, too! You know, I learned a great life lesson from my flowers this last week in that some of my flower beds were kind of struggling a bit this summer, just having a hard time getting established…and I was just getting ready to give up on them when all of the sudden they just sprang to life! I guess life is just that way sometimes, and sometimes you just have to have faith that things will get better if you just don't give up...

Well, I think I am finally done!! Kudo's to everyone who made it through this whole blog
Much loves as always
I am SO pissed!! I just spent 45 minutes writing a new blog and *poof* the SG gremlin's ate it
I don't have time to re-write it now....gonna have to wait until after work today!
*pouts*
I don't have time to re-write it now....gonna have to wait until after work today!
*pouts*
Blog edited to say:
See, I made it back as promised to finish this! I wouldn't want to ruin my hard earned reputation for writing monster blogs
Thanks to everyone who asked me how the interviews went today...you all made my day!! So, overall the day was split 50/50. My interview this morning seemed to go rather well, even though it was done "posse style" with three interviewers on one side of the room and me, myself and I on the other side to even things out
I generally prefer that type of interview, as I find the numbers to be in my favor when there are several interviewers vs. just having one! I prepare ahead of time going over my list of note-worthy "examples" from prior employment, along with reviewing my stock answers for some of the more popular "Give me an example of" and "what would you do if" questions. The preparation really helps, as I am seldom stumped by a question or flustered when I interview...So, yeah the first one seemed great and I hope they will have a decision made by the beginning of the week
The second interview this afternoon....uhmmmm...not so great! Nothing worse than an unskilled interviewer, and that's just what I got
I'm quite certain that I was more prepared for our little chat than she was; reading questions straight from a script and taking notes sooooooo slowly that it seemed impossible to achieve any rapport or rhythm. AND, it was a phone interview...so overall it was awkward at best. That was for a salaried manager position, which wouldn't be my first choice anyways!
I don't know about ya'll but y experience over the years has been that:
Long hours+little pay=salaried positions
I also have a second interview on Tuesday afternoon next week working as a payroll clerk for a non-profit company that works with the developmentally disabledto teach them the skills necessary to be integrated into society successfully. I'm kind of excited about that one, it sounds like a really rewarding place to work!!
Well, that's all I got for you on the interviews! I'll keep you posted
****************************************************************************************************************
My dear friend BIG_BOY (who gives new meaning to the word "metal head") tells me it's time for a new blog, so here it is!! This is going to be a mini-blog for me this morning, since I have an interview in a couple of hours to finish getting ready for, but I'll be back later today to finish filling in the rest of my busy week a later today!! So, without any further ado....May I have a drumroll please?!?
First things first....there's only four more days to go until my honey Flashmo gets to come home for a week!! I'm SO EXCITED to see him, I can't even begin to put how I feel about that into words
He should be getting off the shuttle from SLC at about 4:15pm on Monday and we will have the whole week at home by ourselves to do whatever we want to do.....HMMMMM...wonder whatever we will do to pass the time after not seeing each other for a month??
I'm pretty sure that we will be nekkid and going at it like dogs on paper by 4:45pm! It would be sooner than that if the shuttle dropped him off a little closer to the house, but it's gonna take almost 10 minutes to get him home
I have missed him so much this last month, but this trip is a necessary evil in that it's an opportunity of a lifetime for him, and for our future! I've gotten to where I have established somewhat of a daily routine since he's been gone, but the truth of the matter is that my life just does not have much color in it when he's away
So...yeah, be thinking of us on Monday and please forgive us if we don't reciprocate
Speaking of my honey...he recently posted a set of pictures of himself that were taken while he was training down in our basement
They are UBER cool, and you should stop by here to see them! Here's a few of them as a sneak preview for you:

What a hawtie!!

The two men in my life....Flashmo and Flash
**********************************************************************************
Flashmo and I both love to shoot, and competetive shooting sports were a huge part of our lives in Spokane! We haven't found much for either venues and organized shooting here in Southern Idaho, which is one of the very few drawbacks to us being here. Flashmo holds several National Records, and shoots both rifle and pistol very well! I shoot .22's when I compete, mostly in indoor 50ft "Gallery" leagues.
That's it for now! Wish me luck on my interviews today...and I'll finish the rest of this later! Hope your day just ROCKS IT!!
See, I made it back as promised to finish this! I wouldn't want to ruin my hard earned reputation for writing monster blogs
Thanks to everyone who asked me how the interviews went today...you all made my day!! So, overall the day was split 50/50. My interview this morning seemed to go rather well, even though it was done "posse style" with three interviewers on one side of the room and me, myself and I on the other side to even things out
The second interview this afternoon....uhmmmm...not so great! Nothing worse than an unskilled interviewer, and that's just what I got

So...yeah, be thinking of us on Monday and please forgive us if we don't reciprocate
