HOLY SHIT...it's been a year since I've updated on here! I'll be honest, I've been lurking occasionally, coming to see all the fun n' sexy new sets. I wish I had more time for all the networking groups...damn Facebook, Inkednation, Myspace, BME, Suicide Girls, YouTube etc. etc...no wonder I don't get on here too often!
All is well in my life at the moment, marriage is good, business is good, life in general is good! Hopefully I'll be around more now as I'm trying to manage my "online" time more effectively.
In the meantime you should all come visit us at my shop Thrive Studios. Piercings have been keeping me crazy busy lately but I'm craving to do some scarification. We're engaged!
I proposed to Laura (Solace) the night of October 11th. It was the last night I had the key to my house before it was sold the next day. Because that house was special to me, since I spent 30 years of my life there, it was sad to let it go. Laura and I we're the ones that renovated that house to make it feel more like a home than it has in a long time. I also told her I loved her for the first time in the living room a year earlier.
I only thought it was appropriate to leave that chapter of my life with one final great memory in that house. The whole house was empty, just 30 years of memories floating around in my head. I dropped to one knee in the echoing living room where I told Laura I loved her a year earlier, and asked her to marry me!
It sounds easy when I type it but there were alot of tears and drooling as I said the words. As Laura started crying as well I think I heard the words "yes" but I had to ask again just to confirm. She said YES!
This was a great new way to start my new chapter in life with Laura.

Summer is here and I find myself enjoying the outdoors more now and less time online. I apologize to all those waiting patiently for a reply.
However alot of fun shit is approaching including the Suicide Girl Gala in Toronto. I'll be attending with a few friends of mine and I hope to meet a few new friends as well.
I know this was short and sweet and I could type for another few hours but I have to go poke some more holes in people.

Gone to Vegas!
Once again I'm venturing to Las Vegas for another week of training at the Association of Professional Piercers conference between April 28th-May 9th. Unfortunately during this time Thrive Studios will not be offering any piercings at our studio.
This conference is the largest gathering of professional piercers in the world. With many courses dedicated to the art and safety of body piercing, we believe it is important to attend such an informative conference. Continued education is the only way to grow.
I'll be sure to share lots of photos when I return...take care!

Piercing has been getting crazier by the day as the warmer weather creeps in! I've had so much on my plate within the last month that it's been hard for me to keep to my online surfing duties. It looks as though there are a lot of beautiful new sets to check out!
Now the countdown begins for another yearly trip to Vegas. This will be my fourth year attending the Association of Professional Piercers conference. Afterwards a trip to the Grand Canyon will also be very relaxing for a few days. I leave April 28th and will return May 9th.
Hopefully I'll be bringing back some of the desert heat with me!

1. My autoclave breaks down at my studio (good thing I have a back up)
2. Canada Revenue calls me and lets me know my business has been selected for a random audit.
3. Worst of all...half way through barbecuing my steaks I ran out of propane.

I'm in the process of planning a quick trip to Detroit for the Tattoo Convention at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance. The convention runs next weekend (March 2nd-4th) Let me know if any of you are going and maybe we'll cross paths somewhere.
I've also been contacted by a few people about getting some scar work done while I'm visiting. If anyone is interested please contact me asap and we'll try to get things set up in time! I'll probably just be in the area on Sunday and Monday...but who knows, maybe more if I'm busy.
