yay thanksgiving!!
for the past few years my mom, her bf and my grandmom have been going out to eat at nice restaurants for thanksgiving so that's what we did. My favorite will always be the Moshulu at penn's landing...fantastic butternut squash soup...oh man. then afterward we go to the family party for dessert. I don't like my family lately..since they forgot about my birthday. granted, I was in London...but still. we had a family party pretty much immediately after I got back...and nothing. Do you know how expensive london is?! and they all just suck anyway. my favorite cousin is on the west coast so I never see her.

I accompanied my best friend from highschool in her senior vocal recital on friday. It went really well and I'm so glad to have been a part of it for her. She is such an amazing girl, and pretty much the only one i've kept in touch with since high school.

And what else....I shot another set...not sure if I want to submit it. I may just for shits and giggles, but it probably won't get accepted anyway. Its just frustrating when you can't use a staff photographer and you just have to bear with what you have...settings especially are tough...I don't have too many choices. I already have another set Idea...but here's some teasers of the one I just shot...

And Fimbis made an awesome fan art piece for me, check out his stuff!

Hey..the Eagles may finally win a fucking game! And against the undefeated Patriots! GO BIRDS!!!

Looking forward to the holiday break coming up...I still feel a little behind in school work. That..and I just love to procrastinate. B and I went to the movies and saw Saw IV...notttt that great. Did anyone else see it? The worst part was the opening scene with the peeling back of skin and whatnot. Saw previews for I Am Legend which looks awesome and a new scary Jessica Alba movie - the preview made me jump and that's saying something. Had drinks afterward at Fridays and the mai tai = my new favorite drink love

Went out last night to see my favorite cover band that i've been following around since the summer. I had a really fun time even though I went alone and they finally played some new songs. I was supposed to drive home afterward because my house was right near the show but I forgot my damn oboe in DE and had to drive back at 3am...so I just slept back at my apartment and woke up extra early..I think I got 5 hours of sleep?
picked up my eyeglasses at the mall, they're pretty cute, but I have to get used to them. eeek then had a family birthday party for my pseudo cousin Abby who turned 13. That age was my ultimate awkward phase...bad memories...ugh.

Still trying to figure out how to tell my mom about my tattoos...or if I should at all. She's going to see them eventually, we're supposed to go on a cruise this summer....what to do.... shocked

OH and I heard about this website on Best Week Ever....

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

2girls1cup.com....use extreme caution when viewing the video! its gross but I HAD to see what it was. maybe search for it on YouTube first and watch the reaction videos. Probably the sickest thing you'll ever see....do NOT eat on a full stomach, or if you're about to eat any time in the near future. and don't say I didn't warn you.

puke

anyway..I really want to move to the west coast after I graduate, I can't stand this cold...

and happy thanksgiving!! I probably won't write until after then.. kiss

So the magazine came out and everyone loves it and has nothing but nice things to say...except the kids in my major. granted, we're studying design here and critique can be helpful, but these kids are downright egotistical and mean sometimes! you are not God's gift to design so spare me, please.
Firstly, nobody else wanted to take on the magazine. I did, and I rather enjoyed designing it, and it DID come out way better than the previous issues, but nobody seems to care or notice. I've gotten little recognition for the amazingly hard work I've done, aside from my higher-ups on the magazine staff. I showed one student in my class the magazine because he asked to see it, and afterward I got no feedback whatsoever. Not a 'that looks good' or even 'this looks like crap'. If you're going to scrutinize it, at least give me some helpful feedback! And if you all hate it so much, then why don't you join in and help instead of me having to do it all by myself.
Am I the only unselfish one in my major? It just can't be...and this is why I was miserable in London..I just don't click with these people and I don't understand why. Now I'm just afraid to let anyone see the magazine because I just assume they'll have something mean to say about it. Great...all this hard work and now I feel like I have to hide it. All I know is, this is going to look fantastic on my resume and I could easily get a job working at a real magazine with this - last year's creative director landed a job with vogue and I believe this issue is much improved.

I finally broke $100 again sunday night at work. The quality of people coming out to eat is seriously plummetting. But, I was recruited by one of them to model for Mary Kay cosmetics. Not sure what its about entirely but i'm going to a 'dinner party' tomorrow night for it. free makeup!

What else...
my best friend's senior vocal recital is coming up next week and I'm accompanying her on oboe. I hope it goes well! we're getting our hurr did and everything.
Anyway, school is a burnout and I can't wait to be finished and move out to sunny LA. I hate this weather!!
and is this girl gorgeous or what...

she's my fantasy lover...

p.s. if you want to see me go pink, please post a comment on my set!! (something more than 'i loved it!' por favor)

Fashion show!!!

So tonight was the magazine release party and everything was fantastic. Besides having to be bored all day with the other models waiting for the show to start. We had to be there at 9am to practice the runway order and then broke for lunch. Came back at 2 and got hair and makeup done. I got a big pouf on my head with a ponytail and hair extensions with feathers!! and my makeup was crazy intense, which made up for my clothes which were from a fair trade store - which is awesome but not as fashionable as everybody else's outfits.

doing the runway was exciting, i tried to rock it out during my poses. At the end the audience votes for favorite male and female model. I didn't win, but the bf DID win me a beautiful $125 watch in the raffle prizes.

speaking of winning, I was yesterday's daily hopefuls pick to win free SG merch! things are looking up!

Fun day in NYC today!
Took the path train in from Hoboken and walked to where my internship is going to be. It's a video editing place and the executive editor told me to pop in so I did. They're studios were so nice. Lots of wood, a very homey feeling. She gave me a tour and introduced me to everyone and I was back out the door. Short and sweet. I had just enough time to get to the SVA (school of visual arts) for this Steven Heller talk. If you know who he is, kudos!

After that I meandered my way to times square. We ate at the olive garden....boring, I know, but I work at one and I can get a discount! And the food is good! We started walking south again and saw this cat walk set up in the middle of times square. It turned out to be a shooting of America's Next Top Model! We waited around in the freezing cold for an hour for them to finally start. I believe it may have even been the first episode of the newest season. I'm obsessed with the show, so it was interesting to see how they shoot things. Each girl walked down the runway, twice, and then they all came out and did their little applaud-for-the-designer thing...twice. Then they did crowd shots of the lucky chosen ones who were able to stand next to the cat walk.

After that, warmed up in starbucks then found the path train....took the wrong train...got off and went back the other way...you know how it goes. And now I have to drive back to Delaware. The turnpike is my new best friend (or my worst enemy)...

school sucks! runway show on saturday...i'll tell ya how that goes!

Hello!
Good to see your bright, shining faces.

Well I kind of had a feeling I would be rejected. Such is life. This was my second try at a photoset...but the first one I submitted. My Nikon camera is slowly dying. probably because I packed it in my luggage to London this past summer (whoops)...yeah we're no pros, we try our best.

If you all like me enough maybe I'll make it through! I'm on second chance sundays, my photoset is Asylum. Comment please!

And also, be my friend.

In recent life news...
I got reamed out by my Interactive Media professor. She called me into her office and everything. Long story short: I pretty much pointed out how she doesn't know what she's talking about and contradicts herself. She told me I had a bad attitude and wouldn't let me talk because I kept "interrupting" her. Hey I gotta stand up for myself! She said I would never get an internship with this attitude....to bad I already got it! What a wacko...

And I've been working on this campus fashion magazine as the creative director and it's finally going to print! It comes out this saturday at the Fashion Runway show - in which I was chosen to model. Too bad I suck at walking in heels. We'll see how that goes =) The magazine was a huge headache. Still on the fence on if I'm doing it next semester.

Anyway, busy busy busy, and super excited to be sort of on the site. Wish me luck, and thanks for your support!!
