Alright, well. It's been a few months since I've done one of these. I feel it's about time. Last time I wrote a blog, I was getting ready to head to Chicago for a week. Well while I was there, a few things happened:
I met this wonderful girl named Dalmasca:

We ordered Chinese food the first night I was there and my fortune cookie read: "Stop searching forever. Happiness is just next to you". I'm not one to believe in signs or anything, but that's just too perfect.

So, she pretty much stole my heart, and still has it. She makes me extremely happy.

Got to do some other stuff in Chicago as well

Dalmasca, her room mate, and I went to a Heavy Metal themed restaurant/bar called Kuma's Corner. Place is AWESOME. If you're ever in Chicago, look it up. Here's the menu:

Also, another cool thing I got to do was hang out with Dimples Suicide. Her and I have been friends since she joined the site, before she went pink. Dalmasca and I met up with her and went out to dinner. It was really cool to finally meet her. She's just as nice in person as she is online.

Since i've been home, I picked up DJing. It's something i've wanted to do since I was a little kid watching my oldest brother do it, and while I was in Afghanistan waiting to come home, I took the plunge and bought all the equipment (shit is NOT cheap haha). I've been practicing A LOT, playing online live, and adding things to my setup. I'm constantly striving to learn new things, play different genres, etc. It's actually going pretty well for me, and I learn fast. I've been invited to play for a few different radio shows, but because that's something that is done on a regular basis, I can't. My job and the schedule that comes with it is ANYTHING but regular. I do, however, play online festivals with some of my friends, and that's been gaining popularity. The owners and dev team of the website we stream on have approached us and we are now testers for them, and they will feature our events from now on, which is a good thing. Anyway, here's pictures:
My setup after I first opened everything up and got it plugged in

It's a subtle difference, but this is my setup now:

My buddy Justin learning the basics of it:

My standings on the website I play on at its highest point, #2 (It fluctuates a lot):

The logo image I use. I had a graphic designer do the custom font, the rest of the image I did myself. Getting back into photoshop. Haven't really touched it since I was about 15:

That's about it as far as DJing goes. I know a lot of you have heard me play, and asked me to record a set you can download. I keep saying I will, but I never do. Every time I start recording, i'll make a little mistake that no one but me will probably notice, but it's enough for me to not release it. Some say I am too hard on myself, or too anal about it, but I think it's a good thing to strive to be as perfect as possible. I don't want to be comfortable with releasing something I am not proud of. People also ask when i'm going to start making my own music. The answer is not for a while. At least nothing i'll put out there. I do have the programs you need to actually MAKE the music, but it takes a LONG time to get any good at it. I plan on going to school for it once I get out of the Marine Corps, so that's about another 2 1/2 years. Right now, all i'm doing is learning how to work the programs. Shit is complicated. Speaking of work, well, it still sucks haha. We've been getting new guys showing up, and we're starting the training workup, teaching them what they need to know.
Went to do my yearly qualification on the rifle range:

500 yard line:

And I just thought this was funny, because I generally don't like people:

(To be clear, I don't have PTSD. Don't worry haha)
Well that's about it. I know I haven't been around very much lately, but with the whole long distance relationship thing, my DJing, and work, it's all keeping me super busy. Sometimes it's hard to find time for SG. I still love you all though! I'll try to not let such a long amount of time pass between blogs again haha. Talk to you guys soon.

I know my blogs have been lacking as of late, i'll work on that soon. But yeah.
Tomorrow I will be doing this:

I'm going to be in Chicago until Saturday morning. If you live in the area and want to hang out, let me know on here, facebook, or text me if you have my number. I'm already gonna be hanging out with Dimples Suicide. She is a dear friend and i'm excited to finally get to hang out with her. I'll be meeting some other members as well. I'll be sure to take a lot of pictures and what not.

So yeah. I've been thinking. I think it may be time for me to move on from SG. I've had a lot of fun meeting you all and getting to know you, but honestly, as of late it's brought me nothing but drama, heartache, problems, etc. I know some of it I brought on myself by involving myself with someone I shouldn't have (if you're my friend you know what i'm talking about), but I still just don't need the negativity in my life. Almost everyone i'm good friends with don't come around here anymore anyway, except for a few people. I'm not sure what i'm going to do, I do love you all and I still want to be here for the good times, but there's just so much bad right now, it's kinda hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's not as simple as just walking away, as I'm sure most of you know, and I'm also sure most of you have been here before. I've involved myself with members to the point where they are my personal friends, people I hang out with, people I talk to for hours on the phone, people who I party with, people I care about. I guess i'll just have to see where things take me. Well yeah, if I seem distant lately, this is pretty much why.
"If you could see like me you'd see you haven't won anything.
If you could see like me you'd see, it's by my grace you're breathing."
If you could see like me you'd see, it's by my grace you're breathing."
So, since when is a plane ticket not refundable? Oh well, there goes almost $1,000. Pretty fucking pissed about that. Learned my lesson. Anyway, not really gonna be able to go into chat for the next week or so until I get internet in my new barracks room. I'll still be on facebook and stuff with my phone, but that's about it. I also have a new phone number, if I haven't given it to you yet and you want it, just let me know. Talk to you all soon.
Alright, well my deployment is coming to an end. Again, not sure when i'll have internet but i'm going to try to figure something out. Here's our platoon video made from footage taken from myself and other Marines in my platoon over the coarse of the deployment. Watch it if you want to see what our deployment was like. Talk to you all soon!

Hey SG it's been a while! Well I finally found a proxy that isn't blocked so I could log on. Still can't get into chat though, doesn't work. Anyway, i'm at a place called Camp Leatherneck now, it's just as safe as any base in the US. I should be home in a couple weeks, don't know how soon i'll have internet again though, we'll see. I know a lot of you have questions about a lot of things. Answers will come in time. Plenty of pictures, videos, and writing to come as well. See you all soon, I missed you guys!
Okay well as most of you know, I am deploying to Afghanistan, and I said I would write a blog with a wish list for care packages. For those of you who don't have my address contact Karma or Salliss and i'm sure they'll give it to you. So here's the list:
AAA & AA Batteries (Essential. Used to power our NVG's, GPS's, Etc. stuff that will save our lives)
Socks (Long enough to wear with boots. Also, essential. We go through socks like it's cool.)
Foamy Shaving Cream i.e. "Barbasol" (It needs to be foamy and not shave gel. We use it to mark a clear path from IED's when we're patrolling, not to actually shave with)
Signed Pictures or letters from SG's (Would be good for morale and what not, I know the guys would appreciate it)
Cigarettes and Dip (Anyone who's been deployed knows how important this is haha)
Baby Wipes (To clean ourselves out in the field)
Shaving Razors
Deodorant
Soap & Shampoo
Toothpaste
Beef Jerky
Chips
Gum
Gatorade Powder
Zip Lock Bags
Other snacks
That's all I can really think of off the top of my head. But if you think of anything else and want to send it, we'd all be more than grateful. Just use your best judgement as far as what NOT to send. If you want to just write a letter to me that would be awesome, and if you want to address my whole squad or platoon i'll make sure they all read it.
On a more personal note, i'd just like to say it's been a lot of fun the past year getting to know you all and I had a lot of fun meeting some of you. There's been ups and downs, but I guess that comes with any community. I'm going to miss you all. I will have some internet access but I highly doubt i'll be able to access SG at all. I will be able to check my facebook once in a while though, so i'll try to keep in touch on there as much as I can. Take care everyone, and i'll see you all once I get back.
