Wow, I'm back on SG.com. Been a long long time.

Grrr... Vistek in T.O sold me the wrong size Lightsphere so I now have to go all the way back down there to replace it. They better not hassle me.

Goin' to Importfest tomorrow, anyone from Durham that wants to go but needs a carpool should message me, I don't want to be that sad guy walking around alone taking pictures if you know what I mean.

On the plus side I was able to add another great shot to my portfolio from the other day:



I'm gettin' there, slowly but surely, got my first few paid gigs coming up in the next few weeks.

Oh shit, I almost forgot, I got myself a Nikon D100 yesterday, got a great deal on it too. Pretty excited to try it out. I'm sure I'll post photos I took with it soon,

So I had my first SG shoot (unofficially on my part since it was for a friend... but hell I'll still call it my first SG shoot) yesterday instead of on Saturday. It went pretty well, though I was having trouble creating interesting lighting since there was a big window in the room and nothing to cover it... but I made due, it was a little flat for my liking but not bad. Shot in a bathroom (why the have a big window in their bathroom and nothing covering it I don't know) with a big bathtub, did the whole bubble bath thing. It was pretty cute as far as shoots go. Anyway I won't be able to post any images I guess until the set gets approved and then put up (oh yes, the power of positive thinking).

Ungh... the bug that's goin' around caught me. And right on the day that I have my first SG shoot. Oh well I'm still goin' ahead like a trooper, hopefully it doesn't affect my work. Wish me luck!

Ah... went to the Velvet Elvis on Saturday night, had a pretty sweet time, but that's not why I'm writing. I'm writing 'cause I saw a band play that night called The Rural Alberta Advantage (The RAA) and they rocked my socks. Yes, I said they rocked my socks. They even went outside after the show and played an encore in the parking lot. Extra effort from them = Shameless plug from me on SG... sooo... Go to The RAA and check out their songs in the media section. If you love them as much as I did then you can thank me later.

Emo Kid for Halloween... kinda scary when your Mom says your hair looks good when you're in a costume... and then you go to a party and the ladies tell you that you look good in make-up... Oh well. Tomorrow I'll be back to boring old me. Here's what I looked like:

Anyway, my internet at home is down now so I only access it at school... damn computers. Tried forever to figure it out to no end of my frustration, to no avail either. Guess I'll have to take it in to a professional and pay like $40 an hour for them to do something that will probably take 10 minutes.

So the shoot yesterday went way off plan 'cause of the weather, but all in all I think I came out with some good stuff so as a whole I'm pretty happy. I'm posting the shots I did yesterday as I finish the post on them at:

Ah, I hate the weather... large outdoor shoot today, like 9 models, and it picks now to rain. Oh well, guess it's time to shoot a concept "Models with umbrellas" eh? I guess that's lemonade out of the lemons I was given. Kinda wish my studio was in Toronto now so I could just move it there but I doubt I'd have many takers on a trip from T.O to dirty little Oshawa.

On the bright side of things I got a new speedflash yesterday that I can also use as a slave so that's gonna be fun to play with today. Probably gonna need it too since I doubt I'm gonna get any good natural light today.

So I'm taking part in this photo-a-day thing and I'm lookin' for things to shoot.... I'm up for suggestions for things or people to shoot in the GTA, any ideas?

Still tryin' to be a SG photographer... someday...
