Nothing too extraordinary going on. Last night I went out for a friends birthday along with 13 other guys. We had dinner at the Lowell beerworks, where I had a great Asian chicken salad and a soda, but somehow ended up with $30 being my share of the bill! It seems for the sake of speed, someone decided we should just divide the check evenly between us. It was pretty aggravating since me and a few others had no beer or alcoholic drinks, and only had appetizers, as opposed to a few folks who had full seafood dinners and 2 or 3 beers apiece. Eh, whatever, I'll just never share a bill with that crew again.
Next we moved on to a seedy little stripclub in Salisbury, Ma called Kittens. I walked in and saw the badly done mural of a nude woman and lions surrounded by smoke, the dj playing generic rock music, the overdone neon lights and oh, the headliners; a pair of little-person sisters called...The Little sisters of course. I knew then it would be an interesting night.
That being said, we had a fun time. None of these girls would be a major draw at a big money club, but they were cute, all natural and very friendly and outgoing. None of them looked like they hated their job or despised the customers, so that was a big plus. Okay, maybe one of the little sisters looked like she was very bored with things. It may be a place we have to go back to in the future, possibly with JennyLou along for the experience as well.
It other news, I gave Jenny an early x-mas gift; Wall-E on DVD. We watched it Friday night and I can honestly say that we both loved it. It was amazing to look at (though I'm dying to see it when we finally get an HDTV), and such a very sweet story. I highly recommend it.
I also had my double root canal the other week to fix a giant abcess. The procedure was long and uncomfortable, but my dentist was nice to me and novacained me all to hell. It was still a little gross to listen to someone hollow out your tooth with a small file for an hour. There is no pain now, but I have to go back on Thursday to get the permanent crowns put on.

It's been an eventful week, though not all was good or bad.
First: The severe pain in my face was diagnosed as a pretty bad abcess that I found out will require a double root canal on Thursday. Oh, it will also cost me $700 to boot
Right now I am on antibiotics and vicoden as needed. Though the pressure had gone down considerably due to the antibiotics, making the vicoden much less necessary.
Second: I paid off my car on Saturday! I went in to see how much I owed, thinking maybe a little over a full payment (which was $450 a month), and they said the payoff number was $200 even. I was psyched, paid it off right there and pretty much danced out the door. Sure, that car is not even running rght now (needs a water pump, a drive belt and a timing belt), but with the $450 payment amount back in my pocket every month, it will be back on the road in no time. Though not quite as fast as if I didn't have to shell out $700+ for my root canals.
Third: The Pirate Wedding is on delay for now. We were going to have the wedding at the end of next summer, but Jenny's mom is in a weird place financially right now while she settles her father's estate, and since she is helping us (majorly) fund the wedding, we told her it was fine that we put things on hold until a more relaible time. So, no biggie, we just have more time to plan things and put together some good costumes.
That's about it for eventful news, how are the lot of you doing?

Happy Thanksgiving my friends!
Every year I am grateful for the friends and the fiance that this site has given me. I am thankful that some of you are willing to read my occasional blatherings and random muttered nonsense. I am just as thankful for the priveledge of getting to read all that you have to share. With another year coming up, I look forward to meeting more of you in person, perhaps at me and JennyLou's Pirate Wedding next summer.
Take care people, and be safe travelling on the holiday.

These week is all about ups and downs.
I'm psyched about how well my Red Sox are doing (we'll see how things go in game 7 tonight). And The fact that Halloween is soon has me giddy as well (though I am having difficulty pulling the costume together).
But it all pales in comparison to the fact that Jennylou had to make an emergency flight home friday morning to South Dakota because of her grandfathers failing health. Her grandpa passed away last night, in his own home surrounded by his family at age 91. If we could all go out so well.
Jenny was able to visit with her grandpa one last time before he passed away, and we're both very happy she made the decision to fly out there as soon as possible. She is going to miss the annual halloween party, but that doesn't really matter much. She might be home in time for Halloween itself, we're not sure how things are going to work out yet.
If you can, go give Jennylou some love. I'm sure she will appreciate reading anything supportive when she gets back.

Ah, finally time to sit and update. I've been working 7 nights a week again to get some cash saved up to fix my car, so I haven't had too many quiet moments.
Things have been going well. My car is broken, but me and Jennylou manage just fine with only her car for now. And we are getting geared up for our annual halloween party. I have some serious work to do in the next couple of weeks, and hopefully I can get a few people together to go into Salem as a nice group this year.
Recently Jenny, my brother Josh and our friend Adam joined me for a six hour drive to Mexico, NY for my best friends wedding. With the tactical use of NyQuill I was able to sleep away almost the entire trip. We arrived soon after I woke up to a very small hotel room that the four of us were going to share. Here is jenny and my brother in the tiny room.

It really didn't matter that the room was small, we were there only to sleep. The wedding was being held in a nice park next to one of the great lakes, here is my friend Adam and I just before the ceremony.

Yes, I am aware I look like that type of college professor who likes to hit on the freshman girls. That was pretty much the look I was going for.
Here is Jenny and I after the ceremony

The bride's family is scottish, so they had a bagpiper

The wedding was very casual and nontraditional. Here is Jenny with the pirate who officiated the ceremony. We were told that he was in character for quite a few weeks before the actual wedding, and he was fucking hysterical the entire time:

This same pirate will be officiating me and Jenny's all-pirate themed wedding next year. Of course I am a realist, and I know that there will be at least one ninja and possibly a robot who finds his way in. Sneaky bastards.
Like all good weddings, this one ended up in an epic Rockband 2 marathon at the home of the bride's family. It was cool because I have been playing Halo online with her 2 brothers and her father for years, but I've only met them once or twice. He's retired now, and has a fantastic gaming setup in his basement. He's given me something to work towards

That's about all for now, except for this picture of Jenny holding our cat Scurry. Mostly just because I like the picture.

How are you all doing? Any good plans for Halloween?

Update!
Okay, so there isn't anything really crazy going on around the old homestead, but Siamkittie is here visiting. At the moment I have a killer meatloaf in the oven for us to devour before getting to the cake that Siamkittie and Jennylou (the former Hathoriginal) got at Mike's Bakery in Boston.
This is my first weekend off in over a month, so I will be trying to enjoy it. I probably won't be heading into Boston with the girls on Friday night (because I need some rest ASAP), but Saturday is the Pirate Faire in Salem, so I am down with scouting out props and costumes for our pirate wedding next summer.
How y'all doin'?

Just a short update, as not a ton has happened recently.
I did hit the big "32", and thank you very much for those who said nice things for mah birfday.
I got a little of the practical and a little of the silly for my big day. Jenny got me a membership to AAA, and with all the car trouble recently, this is worth its weight in gold.
My brother got me (well, all of us) Rock band for the 360. It's been great fun, and the three of us have spent quite some time jamming out
The only other thing is kinda big I guess. After a conversation with her mom, Jenny has started in guns-ablazing on wedding plans for next summer. Hoooo-boy.

So, about half an hour until I get my little pink balloon
I actually do feel like I'm getting older this year, but I think that's mostly due to all the little nagging injuries I have right now. My arm is still sore from the sprained MCL, and I have a lot of little muscle pulls in my chest, back and shoulder.
Nothing to really complain about though. I don't mind getting older at all. My 30's have treated me very well so far.

Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck
On my way home from work today, my car started to make a horrible sqealing/grinding/screeching noise. Then my engine temp redlined very quickly. Then when I pulled over, all of my coolant bled out onto the side of the breakdown lane.
While I sat and sulked, HathOriginal came and picked me up while AAA towed my car the 40 miles back home. I'm sitting by the phone right now, waiting for the mechanic to call me to let me know what is up. I'm praying (not really, I'm an atheist) that it is something relatively cheap...but I have a dread feeling in my guts that it won't be. I haven't had any overtime in a long time, and life has been very paycheck to paycheck lately. This could be very bad.
On a positive note, I saw my doctor about the injured arm (badly sprained MCL), and he was surprised and very happy with how fast I'm healing. So I have that at least.

Edit: It turns out to be the water pump, and the timing belt, and something else too (I didn't take the call). Estimated cost between $700-750. Money we don't have right now. Looks like we are a 1 car family until we can save up for a bit. I'll probably have to push my car home tomorrow (It's only a 1 block away).

Nothing new to report on the injured arm front. One of my doctors thinks I have a fracture, another thinks it is a bad MCL sprain. Either way the treatment is the same; I get a kind of cool looking black brace/exoskeleton looking rig for a while. When I'm done with it I am so using it for a halloween costume in some way or another.
Two days ago one of my friends that I play basketball with fell and broke his arm on the court. This is the 3rd injury in just a few weeks...we are starting to wonder about the court's karma now.
Coming up on the big 32 soon. Meh. gettting older doesn't bother me at all. My late 20's and early 30's have been pretty damn awesome to me, and I wouldn't trade them for anything.
How is everyone?
