Friday was nice and relaxing. I took HathOriginal out to dinner at the Sylvan St. Grill, and had a nice plate of chicken carbonara to keep my stomach happy. The rest of the night was spend relaxing in the air-conditioned room and not worrying about anything.
Saturday night was a blast. It was Jenny's birthday, but also the wedding of one of my best friends. Me and Jenny had a wonderful time and enjoyed a beautiful day at the Danvers yacht club where the reception was held. It was the first time one of my friends has ever had a wedding so close to where I live, it was literally in my neighborhood and really helped with the stress of getting out of the house on time.
And now, a few pics...
This is a pic of me and my brother Josh. He was in the wedding party, who were dressed in black on black. They either looked like mobsters or backup singers for my chemical romance...I still can't decide which. At any rate, you can see that Jenny has a clear talent for taking my picture when I am still talking...

This picture was taken at the yacht club just before the introduction of the wedding parties. It was a beautiful day, and Jenny was awful purty too.

This picture was taken a little bit later once we were at our table...right next to the open bar...very nice.

It was very difficult to take pictures inside once the dancing started, too many weird light effects from the dj's. But at any rate, here is photographic evidence that I did indeed dance.

So after a good nights sleep, I made lunch for Jenny and me today before she had to wander off to work. I gave her the first season of Six Feet Under for her birthday gift, and then we ate tacos. Noiw I'm just sitting around while I watch the Sox game.
Got anything funny to say or share?
We've been having some problems with the intarnet lately. We can't seem to log on until around 6 at night, every night for 3 days now. Kinda weird, but kind of good at limiting how much of my life I waste online and not in the sun. So if I'm not around as much lately, that may be a good reason for it.
How is everybody doing? How is the summer treating you (winter for my aussie and S. American friends)? Got anything funny to say?
I got to pay a visit to an old friend who was in town from Virginia when her husband's battleship was in Boston for the 4th. It was nice to travel up to her parents house with HathOriginal and just have a nice conversation for a few hours. I think Jenny really enjoyed hearing some amusing storied from back in my heyday as well
The 4th itself was kind of a letdown. The weather was rainy, and Jenny was feeling some serious homesickness for her family back in South Dakota. So next year we are going to try and make it back to SD for the 4th, and Jenny would like to maybe take a trip through Brookings to visit the delightful Kleio.
Not much else going on right now, how are you all doing?
They were both really cool people, who gave me a lot of fun memories over the years. I'm gonna miss them both very much.
R.I.P uncle Dave and Uncle Paul.
Yes, I am on vacation. One of those lazy, not going anywhere, sit at home and vegetate kind of vacations. My only goal is to relax. While I doubt it will be as relaxing as my time in South Dakota a few months ago, there won't be a 1600 mile drive to spoil all the relaxation at the end of this vacation.
One problem though...
I think I have the flu right at the start of my vacation!!! Goddamnit, who gets the flu in June???
No worries though; I won't let it get me down. Jenny is being nice enough to pick me up some medicine and some Ben & Jerry's on the way home from work. She says I shouldn't have any dairy, but I told her it would most definitely make me feel a lot better.
I don't have to go to work again until Tuesday the 26th, so I have plenty of time to get healthy and loaf around.
In other news, I recently went to a gallery opening by my brother and one of my best friends. This is the three of us the night of the opening...
Here is one of Josh in front of some of his work.
And here is a close-up of one of Josh's pieces. I like this one a lot.
So how are you doing? Anything fun going on?
I'm going to have a lot of time in the next 11 days to kick around on SG, so please leave a comment.
It's true, no overtime for me this past weekend.
Friday I took a trip to Newbury Comics for a few new books, then ate Wendy's for lunch with HathOriginal. After that I napped for a little while before going to a gallery opening for 2 of my best friends. Here is a pic of some of the people hanging around outside of the Mingo Gallery in Beverly during the opening
The opening went very well, and I was very impressed with the Illustrations and paintings on display. Quite a few people were wondering if there was something going on after the opening; so Me, Hathoriginal and Skinneephat invited everyone back to our house for drinks and snacks (read drinks and snacks as whiskey and ten pizzas). We mostly sat around the little firepit in the yard and had some rather colorful conversations until we were tired enough to crash.
Saturday we went to a cookout at another friend's house; attended by almost everyone who had been at our place the night before, plus quite a few more people. The day was excellent despite the fact that I took a fast moving horseshoe off of the knee while playing in the yard.
When the sun went down everyone who was left at the cookout sat around a firepit and three guys who brought their guitars entertained us. It was one of those moments that belongs in a beer commercial, but we had a lot of fun.
And even though the light filter on my camera was on the wrong setting, I like this picture I took of me and Jenny:

Today was a nice day to relax before work again, though I am looking forward to using my vacation time in a couple of weeks. And later on this week I will be taking Jenny and her friend Adam to my favorite local museum, so everything is kinda nice right now.
Here are a few entertaining pics. The first is of 2 of our cats, Scurry and Fidget, agreeing to share the same space for a while.
This one is of a little visitor on our porch the other day...
Cookout Plans
Sometime in August we are going to try and have a real big cookout for all of our old and new friends. And lately I have been sketching out what I plan to be cooking. So tell me if this sounds okay to you (I will be using a large grill, electric griddle and 2 deep fryers at the same time):
-3 batches of my own Chilli; 1 spicy with no beans, 1 with beans and a bit milder and another batch with some spice and more peppers and onions to serve as a good burger/hotdog topper.
-Hotdogs that have been marinated in applejuice and brown sugar for a day or so.
-Burgers made with teriyaki sauce and some onion soup mix in the meat.
-Grilled asparagus in some type of marinade
-French fries;some of the normal variety and some sweet potato fries...all handcut.
-Empinadas made with ground turkey, sofrito, serzone, cheese and a few other extras.
We are asking guests to bring salads, chips and cold foods. We will also have a keg.
How does that sound to you? Any suggestions?
Besides all that, how have you all been doing?
A few at least. It was a cool weekend, HathOriginal and I attended our first SG Boston get together. As usual I am too quiet to really get to know someone as well as I would like in a loud bar setting (I have a difficult time hearing in places with a lot of background chatter, so my conversation skills are limited), but I was at least able to meet a few of the SG Boston folks as well as Finch, Lexie and Effie.
Bailey was at the bar as well, but she was not sitting near me, and I'm not social enough to just jump into a group of strangers and make myself known. I did however have a fun time talking to the lovely Kwizzle and her boyfriend. Kwizzle brings out the goofy side in HathOriginal, so it's nice to see them together.
Now for a few vacation pics...
How is everyone doing? Let me know or at least say something funny.
As of today, me and the lovely HathOriginal have been together for a year. All because of this silly little Pron site. Life is funny sometimes.
I can honestly say it's been one of the best years for me, and I only expect it to get better.
In other news, Kindle has moved out of our apartment, but my brother Skinneephat has moved in. It'll be some time before we find a spot for all of his furniture, but I don't mind. I've spent most of my life living with or near my brother, and it's good to have him back. Now it'll just be a matter of time before we find out how much shenanigans Jenny can take from the Morrissette boys before killing us.
How are you all doing?

Take it easy everyone, don't kill each other, and remember to check on the pets while we're gone. See ya next week.
