I have a weird creative thing that happens sometimes, and when it's over I'm half dead, unshaven and very hungry....
I get to where I can't sleep. Images crowd my head and I have to get them out on paper, canvas, whatever.
I feel it coming on, so if you don't hear from me for a week, I'll get back when I can.

A close friend of mine shocked me by saying she was intimidated by my "intelligence". When you're my age, you've had more time to travel and read; I'm just an average IQ type guy.
A lot of people that are very insecure hide behind a shield of faux "intelligence". If they look down their noses at you, they're idiots. They preen their feathers with the compliments of others and live in a fantasy world where they are the only enlightened beings.
It's not how intelligent you are, it's how you use the intelligence you really have.

I know that a lot of people hate snow, but I love it. We only got a slight dusting this year. I see all the apocalyptic scenarios further north and I'm jealous...
I love the silence at night after a good snowfall. The ends of frozen tree branches glistening under a nearby streetlight, clicking together sharply in the occasional breeze.
I guess there's still a slight hope...the biggest snow we ever got here was in March (1993).

They have to be SG related, of course, and they can use just about any medium you can post.

I've just seen on the news that Anna Nicole Smith died. I'll miss her; I thought she was cool.
She came from a poor background, born under another name, but rose to fame for her good looks.
I suppose she'll always be known for marrying the rich old guy, but she still had to fight in court to get money when he passed away.
I would hope that as a free man, I would be allowed to marry all the Anna Nicole Smiths I wanted to. One at a time, of course.

Not too long ago, they allowed the drink absinthe in the U.S. again: the drink of 19th century artists and the like. It seems that the popularity of abisnthe threatened the wine industry at the time, so they financed an anti-absinthe campaign that caused it to be banned.
In our society of "use and throw away" items, I look for things that have survived the test of time. You'd be surprised at how inexpensive many things are.
