SDCC 2008: Prelude (Part One)
I embark yet again on my annual spirit quest to
San Diego for the
Comic Convention. This is a strange year in the sense that as happy as I am to go the excitement has yet to strike me. I leave in less than 24 hours for
Studio City to meet up with a friend and attend a
DGA screening of
Hellboy II: The Golden Army and Q&A with
Guillermo del Toro and then head on to SDCC. This year I also attend the convention not only as a goer but a reporter for
Big Shiny Robot. It will be strange to take on the convention and write about it in a professional manner (let's face it, it will most likely be scathing and latent with sarcasm, parodying peers and professionals alike). I am already fully packed and ready to leave and am aching to get the hell out of Utah as things have still been rather frustrating here (if you haven't seen from my
tweets). I look forward to the idea that by this time tomorrow I'll be in California, with the I have plotted out my entire attendance this year as well (a first) and have a few really cool things I will hold off on mentioning as to
not to blow my wad. Expect to read more soon...
