Back on Memorial Day weekend I went to Seattle's Museum of Flight where one of the few remaining airworthy B17 bombers had stopped on tour. It was very interesting. I also took the tour through the plane. For such a large aircraft it was surprising how cramped it was inside
Since my Dad was a B17 pilot during World War II it had a special meaning to me. He told me about his expreiences when I was a kid which inspired me to earn a Private Pilot's license when I was 19.

The ball turret is on the underside of the plane. The gunner was in this small space with his knees pulled up to his chest There were two 50 caliber machine guns just inches from his head. It was considered the worst position of the crew.

Ralphie: 2005 - 2008

On Thursday Ralphie was lyinig on the floor & couldn't stand up. He couldn't really move his hind legs. We took him to the vet thinking the dog may have attacked him. The vet said he wasn't injured, that he had had a stroke. I thought WTF, he's only three, equal to maybe thirty in a person. No one has a stroke at that age. But the vet was sure it was a stroke, that it can happen at any age. His hind end was paralyzed & his lungs were filling with fluid so we had to put him down. We sure miss him.

Conehead Kitty. Ralphie's urinary tract plugged up twice in one week so he needed surgury. His plumbing was too narrow so they rerouted & enlarged it. They also had to remove his manhood to make a new pee hole. Poor kitty.

It's been a whole year since my last post which was about my daughter & her no good boyfriend. Well, nothing has changed. She's still with him & they are both still living with us & are only marginally employed. What happened to my life?
My wife got the best possible Mother's Day present. Our daughter broke up with her drunk ass, druggie, employment challenged boyfriend who's been living at our house for five months. I expect them to be back together in two days at the most but one can always hope. If he is gone for good there is going to be a helluva custody battle over their dog.
Update: As predicted, they got back together the same day.

New picture, Christmas 1955 with my brother & Skoot. He was a wonderful dog. Also added a folder with a few kitten pics.
