So anyway it's my birthday on monday (it's a public holiday in Australia day) so Cassy is taking me on a mystery weekend, so far all I know is that i have to pack a small bag (my usual O/Nite bag is too big).

We're heading off tonight to the 'mystery destination' I am kinda excited and kinda nervous, more news after the fact!

Well this year I'm going to try and reduce my carbon footprint.

Already out on the pushy rather than the car and have saved 1 whole KG of carbon emissions today alone!

I's about a KG for 8.5KMs, so if I do all my trips to the shops and the gym I could save a fair bit throughout the year.

well it's Jan 2, a new year!

Had a killer NYE ended up getting home at 2pm today, a record even for me!

2008 was a really mixed year for me, lots of highs and a lot of real lows, hoping for a much more level year in 2009.

well, every now and then something happens to remind you of who you are!

I got a call from a friend (who I used to live with) to come and collect some stuff from her garrage, as she was moving, and low and behold there's a huge box of gig tapes from the mid 90s from various bands I played in.

Time has dimmed my memory of these gigs and it has been a huge pleasure listening and transferring these tapes to digital. WOW I could actually play! lol

It has been a total life affirming thing to hear them!

Hey all,

I have a friend who works for the mental illness fellowship here in Victoria, and it was an annual event today, a fiesta, to raise cash for the organization and raise awareness of mental illness in the community.

In Australia 1 person in 5 suffers a mental illness and part of the aim of the fellowship is to de-stigmatize mental illness and raise awareness of it's impact in the community.

So anyway I spent a few hours helping out with the BBQ and chatting to many people, a great day and a great vibe!

So now I smell of fried onion and meat, and I'm completely knackered!

Feels good to do a little volunteering and serve the community, I think this might be the beginning of something larger.
