Hello friends!!

It's been awhile since I posted on here...Iv'e been crazy busy with..well, life. haha

It's been about 3 months now since I left my job at SGHQ. At first, I admit..I was quite upset. But it turned out to work out for the best, since I absolutely LOVE my new job!! I am the assistant to the two owners of a concert / tour booking agency for bands. Some of the bands on our roster include: The Misfits, Deicide, Metal Church, Incantation and Dokken. You can check out our full roster of bands at www.artists-worldwide.com.

I feel like i'm finally doing what I moved to L.A. to do..an entry level career within the music industry.

I am still writing my monthly metal column and doing interviews for SG, which I absolutely love!
You can check out my latest article below, where I review Revolver's "Golden Gods" award show.
Metal Asylum Vol. 4

Also, please make sure to comment and let me know what you think!!

I promise now that I am more "settled" to update on here more often. I miss all of my friends here at SG dearly and think of all of you often! I hope everyone is doing well!

Someone posted this on the SG MySpace site:

"Hey Suicide girls .I want you to know I am a Christian I became one at the age of 7. A deacon opened a Bible to me and took me to Romans 3:23 and 6:23 . There it said I was a sinner (one who wrongs God and men daily). Jesus said ,"Repent(turn from sin and self to God) and believe the gospel (Jesus sinless life ,His atoning payment for all our sins on the cross , and His bodily resurrection the third day.)" If Jesus isn't you Lord and Saviour ,just ask Him to forgive your sins and believe His sacrifice given by grace to us paid for all our sins and its nothing we can do but what Jesus has already did that will get us into Heaven ask Jesus for a daily relationship too.God bless."

I fucking hate when people try to push thier view onto other people. Even if it's just posting it on a site. And this is a huge reason why I am compltely turned off by organized religion. They're right. You're wrong. What was his point to this? Did he think by posting this, that he would be saving our eternally damned souls?

I just found it hilarious, and wanted ito share with all of you.
=)

In other news, I just celebrated my 25th b-day this past week. It's wierd. Even though I have been on my own since I was 18 and have had to grow up pretty fast..therfore I have felt like an "adult" for a long time now..25 just sounds so much older than 24. haha I know, that sounds stupid, but that's how I feel. But it's also exciting for me, because i'm embarking on a new chapter in my life. I live in a new state, I now have my own place out here, I have my new job with SG and i'm meeting a lot of new great people.
Last year, was a really rough year for me, but i'm hoping "25" is the magick number so to speak, and i'm excited and looking forward to see what 2009 will bring.

I also want to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday!!!!

Sooo excited about this!!!!!

My band, Earthen played at last year's Pagan Fest in Chicago and then I flew to Cali and went to the fest again out here. It was amazing!! I got to see some of my favorite bands in one lineup!
Good people....good times!

It's the closest thing to Heathen Crusade which is the best fest Iv'e ever been to! Unfortunately, I missed this years HCF III because I had just moved to Cali, and I was sooo upset I missed Moonsorrow, which is one of my favorite bands ever!

But now..they are coming for a full U.S. tour! With Primordial AND Eluvietie! Which are two of my other favorite bands!! (I have a lot of favorite bands....)
And it's going to be AMAZING!!!!

I cannot wait for this....

So, on Saturday night I decided to treat myself and get my labret pierced! I have been wanting to do this for awhile now but I wasn't sure what kind of job I would get out here in Cali and if they would be ok with facial piercings. Sadly, I had to take out my eyebrow piercing for a job before.
Obviously, the office I work for now doesn't mind piercings and I finally had a little money in the bank so Saturday night I went to Studio City tattoo and piercing (thanks to Jenn!) and got my labret pierced and my ears stretched to a 12 gauge. My piercer's name was Nick and he was really nice and proffesional. I will definitely be going to him for any future piercings.

The labret didn't hurt at all, but I have a pretty high tolerance for pain and I love the piercing ritual. The excitement and anxiety, the hot rush of the needle, and then...accomplishment! I'm weird..I know this.

The ear stretching did sting a little though..and are actually more sore than the piercing! Which i'm actually really surprised. But about every four weeks or so, i'll go and get them stretched another size bigger...until I like the size. I don't want super huge plugs...but i'm thinking and 8 gauge or a 6.

Anyhoo..I love my new piercing! Yay!

I had to go to the E.R. this weekend..ug. Never fun. I have been having this severe pain in the same spot and finally after my ENTIRE family telling me to, I went. At first the Doctor SWORE it was appendicitis, and told me to prepare to have surgery that night. Then after about 9 hours waiting..and them doing things to me that I'm not even going to mention on here.....nothing. They couldn't find anything. So..a big waste of time and a huge bill to go with it.

I did get some sweet pain meds while I was there though!!
...at least it wasn't a complete waste of time... smile

I was driving home tonight from work and I was stuck in traffic because part of Santa Monica was closed down due to people rioting / acting out against the passing of Prop 8. It's so sad and unfortunate. I don't understant how people can be so ignorant and hateful enough to deprive good people the right they have to marriage, just because maybe it's not what they believe in or would choose.

What makes it more sad is that gays/lesbians already HAD the right to marry in this state and it got taken away...It just seems so fucked up and unfair.
I live in West Hollywood, one of the largest gay communities. The other day before the election, I was at the town hall, standing in line waiting for a parking pass and I saw so many gay couples waiting in line to get their marriage certificates...in fear that Prop 8 would pass, as it did. And even though they were probably getting married mostly for this reason..they all looked so happy and excited..and so in love. I remember thinking to myself..why would anyone want to take away this right from them?!?!

So I offered to volunteer on election day to help inform people on Prop 8 and persaude voters to vote NO!! Sadly it was passed anyway...not a good day for California. frown
