Just got back from the Rennaisance Faire. Thinking about what I'd like to write about that experience, I realized a use to keeping two concurrent journals. On my LJ, I can write all the usual stuff. Had fun, some good performances, auditioning for a new guild, yadda yadda. On here, I can write the other crap that reveals me as a total lech and I'd rather not say to most of my current RL friends. :-)

So, to start, I have to be honest that a big part of the reason I go to faire is in the vain hopes of getting laid. It worked the first time, though it's failed every time since. I place a very high priority on sex in my life, and an even higher priority on love, and yet have proven sorely unable to find either. Faire is, in theory, a good place to look, because it's fully of baudy women, who also tend to have decent intelligence. Because let's face it, if I just wanted to get laid by anything, I could hop off to IV and find some sorority slut with a single-digit IQ. But then I might as well be fucking an unusually attractive dog for all the satisfaction it gives.

Now I just wrote out a HUGE rant describing all the sexual frustrations of this faire, and then looked at how long it was, and said to myself "Fuck this, nobody will read all that!" Suffice it to say, I had quite a number of boobs exposed to me, got to fondle many of them, and yet, I was just about the only single guy I knew at this faire who didn't hook up with somebody.

On all the more mundane levels, the faire was great. Good people, good company, good shows. Bought myself a drum, and am intent on learning to play it. However, I still walked away from it feeling unsatisfied.

Well, just registered my account, dumped some pictures in the image gallery, and filled out my profile. Not sure if I'll post on here much. I normally use my LiveJournal to post crap about my life, and it seems silly to double-post it here.

However, I find that while LJ is great for staying in contact with people I already know, it's not so great for meeting new people, especially those with romantic or sexual potential. So in a somewhat pathetic pit of desparation, here I am paying for a similar service that I hope will help me find a worthwhile girlfriend, or at least get laid by somebody with a three digit IQ.
