Well I am back from Indonesia and I had a great time. I dont have long to write just now, so here is what I got up to in a nutshell:
Visited Sea World where there was some really huge fish, including different kinds of sharks, octopus, shrimps, Ray's and Turtules (Yes menessxo even Turtles!)
Also went to the safari theme park and saw the Elephants, Lions, Tigers, Harts, Buffalo's, Boars, Giraffes, Rhino's and Hippo's. There was a lot more animals, I was overwhelmed at seeing so many species all at once.
Saw the Deftones live in concert in Jakarta, it was their first time playing in Indonesia and they were totally awesome.
I also visited the royal palace of the Sultan of Jogjakarta, which was pretty cool, I saw singing and dancing, and the old Dutch and Tribal style architectures there.
Went to some volcano's and saw the destruction they had caused to the forests and villages. Also went to see the refugee village where about 1000 people were displaced, it was being handled well by the government from what I saw and lots of ministers seemed to be travelling to and from the area.
The scary bit was when on mount Bromo, it is active and started shaking the car and making loud banging sounds, like a drum mixed with explosions, it was a unique sound and very terrifying, add to that the volcanic ash which was everywhere, its very dangerous to breath it in, because it turns into concrete inside the lungs and obviously that is lethal. We did not hang around though, we covered our mouths and stayed in the car, then got out from the mountain as quick as we could. Visibility was low as it was night time and the ash was thick. Respect to all those who have to deal with that shit day in day out.
Another cool adventure was to see the Hindu and Buddhist temples, which were ancient and huge, very interesting for history buffs like myself!
Anyway, some pics
This was just an altercation I had with Iron Man in the Mall

I have just got the new Sherlock Holmes and Solomon Kane Blu-Ray discs, not watched them yet but I am told they are fun.
One blu-ray i did get round to watching was Daybreakers, its pretty good.
Anyway, I am so glad to see England has won at last, now we need to beat the Germans tomorrow, going to be a massive game for us, because both our countries have huge respect for each other and its reflected in our football matches, which are always very very hard and eventful, passionate, exciting.

Hi peeps,
I really like SG because of the sheer beauty, but I dont like the people who are on a power trip, being very controlling on some of the groups and putting way too many conditions for memberships, for me that ruins it. They make excuses but in fact this is just for casual fun and they take it far too seriously at times. I am not the only one who feels this way either.
Anyway my life has been nuts last few weeks, I have just had to work 19 days straight and so this weekend has been the first real break I have had. But its being compounded by shit performances by the England football team in South Africa for the world cup. If we dont win the next game we are out, and its shocking.
At least we beat Australia in the Rugby, its some consolation I suppose.
Been having dental treatment and had to have a tooth removed which was in dire need of extraction, it was not too bad but costs a ruck of cash. I need to have one more out, again a molar which I dont use and no one can see, but this time I will have to get hospital surgery to deal with it, as a small incision in the gum may be needed, so I am not looking forward to that at all.
Otherwise work has been crazy busy as always and when I am not working I am at the gym or doing chores and sleeping. Life is full of what needs to be done it seems, rather than what I would like to do. But at least I have a job, many good people dont now.
I really quite liked the Johnny Rotten interview, he is one interesting fellow but I agree with him to a point.
Bit over glorious of his own band, but I do feel most of the new music these days is poor so take his point there.
Well I am tired, just got back from working out and cooked, ate, cleaned and now need to snooze before work tomorrow zzzzzzzzzz

Bank holiday is here in the UK and the fair has come to town, today is sunny and I saw lots of little kids playing on the rides and having fun with their families. A pleasant sight to behold indeed. Nothing more natural and also makes me see what we struggle for.
Well one the tech side of life, I got the new apple mouse, its called the Magic Mouse. At first I still preferred my old blue tooth Apple mouse, because it fits in my palm better, but now.. its grown on me. You have to move your fingers more on this, and not your whole hand, different concept. The link is below for those who want to check it out.
Magic Mouse
I have been reading my new openproj book, its a good product and I love that I can save my work in XML format so that it will open in MS Project as well. For a open source, freeware application it sure is powerful.
If you want to download it to play with, it works on Windows, Mac and Linux platforms, link below
openproj
One other thing, I have the new Meat Loaf CD, Its called "Hang Cool Teddy Bear", which is based on short story about war I think. The songs are written by Bon Jovi, Jack Black and others.
My fave song from the Album
Also I saw the remake of the "Taking of Pelham 123" with Denzel and Travolta.
I got some new lights in the garden, they are solar powered so as we are in the summer time, we are hoping the weather will be nice so we can spend more time in the garden, especially me so I can practice my golf swing.
Since having my massage, my arms feel much better but I need a better massage next time, more vigor I think.
I got the new AC/DC Iron Man 2 CD as well, its mostly their older music but its cool to have it in a different arrangement and I just collect their albums and album art.

Its another manic Monday and my arms are still killing me from the gym on Thursday, boy did I over do it. I have made this mistake before so its frustrating to do it again. My arms are just crazy painful.
Anyway I got a massage booked for Wednesday lunch time, so hopefully that will sort me out, will see.
I need to get my new business account sorted out, thats an activity on my list right now, and today is the day I am going to update my business plan, I am getting into pivoting as its the big thing these days in business modeling.
I just got my new Avatar Blu-ray, I had only seen it on the Imax 3D cinema when I was in the US, so having only seen it once, its cool to be able to watch it on the flat screen at home. Also I found the 3d distracting so I prefer the normal version better.
I also got my new iWork 09 book today so I wanna have a read through that, pic up a few hints on how to improve my presentations and docs.

Well Wovles are doing ok, and if we hang on in there on the last 2 games, we are safe. I really would love to see us get a win of course on May 1st when we are away to Portsmouth.
On another note, I been having very annoying phone problems, I travel a fair bit and so don't like mobile phone contracts because they cost way too much and are country specific. When I was in the US back in Feb, I used a pre-pay AT&T sim and added some 3G data to it. The deals are so much damn cheaper over there, here they are like 5 times more.
Anyway, when I work in India I again find the calls cheap on pre-pay, when in Indonesia its the same. But when I am home in the UK, its a pain in the ass.
In Europe they get contracts that work anywhere in continental EU and so they save lots of money, but they dont allow the UK on that deal, which sucks cos we are a member state of the EU too! So I got a UK contract with T-Mobile for my Blackberry which is for my own business, but the signal service is shit round here cos of all the hills. And I got a UK Vodaphone contract which my employer pays for, but again the signal is shit in my town. Then I got a pre-pay Orange Sim for my iPhone for personal use. It gets a good signal sometimes, but the 3g costs loads and so unless I can use my office or home WIFI, it isn't worth even having an iPhone!
I have an Orange USB 3G stick which is for my own business, its expensive and thanks to Apple not updating the drivers for my Macbook Pro, I had to hack it to make it work, but it wont work with a VPN so there are some things I still cant use it for. Then I have a Skype account I use for my business and it works fine on my iPhone and Mac, but I have recently started to get spammers on it, which pisses me off cos I onyl use it for work, so as you can imagine getting an advert about Viagra when trying to talk to a client, can be very embarrassing mad

Just got back in from the gym, but I am not as tired as I am depressed.
Interviewed a guy who has the skills we need, the desire to learn and would be good at the job, trouble is, he can only give us 13 weeks before he moves to Asia to live.........why do the agency send us people who are not suitable....damn it, that is not what we need, we need commitment to our clients....ffs its hard to hire the right people out here.
Anyway, some real bad news, a close friend of mine has just lost his little daughter, she was a cute little girl, blond hair and blue eyes. But she was born with a physical challenge which meant she could not move her arms or legs. It is caused by a genetic mismatch in her parents, so while both her older brothers are not challenged at all and are in great health, it sadly did affect her, and it was 1 in a million chance that it would, so much so, that my friend and his wife did not even realize there was a possibility it could happen.
She has just passed away and although it was expected it would happen one day, it has still come as a shock, her parents are obviously devastated as are her 2 brothers who are only kids themselves.
Shows how harsh life can be, cruel and puts our problems into perspective in a big way.
Well, I have to try to be supportive, so I will do anything possible to show encouragement and in reality there is not much to say or be done in such times.
Trying to be positive, I have found my favorite gym machines, its the Vario which seems to really work well for me. Its one way to take out some frustration and fight the duress out of my mind.
Here is a website showing the machine for those who have not come across one before. Vario link

Having gotten through a tough week, I am just expecting another one ahead. But thats work and its life. We got the new office up and running now with desks, the printer, fax and phone lines, internet connection. All looking good. But still not enough skilled folks available out here in the sticks to apply for either of the jobs we are advertising. So we need to get those vacancies filled asap. For now we have some contractors helping out, so thats something.
On a positive note, the summer is finally here and we have had our first couple of sunny days in the county. Now if it stays nice, I can get out on the golf course again. Plus I am over my flu so can get back into my regime at the gym too.
A big thanks to Teva and menessxo for being great to me on here, its important to make good friends and with people I can share things in common, so thanks ladies!
Also need to mention that menessxo is a hopeful and she rocks, so please people give her some well deserved comments and check out her pics and vids!
Well to some of the stuff I have been up to since my last real blog update when I was on my US vacation to NY. Since I been back, I have mostly been working and recovering from flu, but I have made some time to check out cool tunes and movies as usual and I found some really good ones.
I loved watching Street Kings, which is an old one, but very good twist, plus Forrest Whittaker and Keanu Reeves just rock. Then I have been into Jodie Fosters roles in "The Brave One" and "Inside Man".
But right now, the movie that is rocking my socks off is "El Superbeasto" which is directed by Rob Zombie and has voiced by Rosario Dawson and Sheri Moon Zombie.
The trailer
The website is: El Superbeasto
So check it out!
Another one to watch out for is "It might get loud" which is totally awesome documentary featuring interviews / discussions and performances with the EDGE, Jimmy Page and Jack White. Here is a SG group discussing it further
