Oh good, a letter from the landlord telling us she is not letting us out of the lease and if she cannot find someone, she will be coming after us for the rent.

Can't wait to be out of this apartment. I am also looking forward to living in a house for the first time in my life.

Landlord texted me today saying that she has someone coming to look at the place tomorrow at 4pm, so she saw the letter and actually listened to me when I said I prefer to not be contacted.
I was so ready for a show down.
I did not want one, but I was prepared.
Now we just cut ties cleanly and done.

And to add to the pile of fucked up shit that is my landlord and downstairs neighbors...
a "friend" of mine (we are friendly, but don't hang out a lot) lives downstairs.
So it's the landlord, Jamar (friend), Brenda (his son's mother/ex/possible current gf....I have no clue) and their 4 year old son.
Well...it came up on my Facebook feed that she is 20 weeks pregnant (She tagged Jamar, so it came up)...so I can assume it's his kid since she tagged him...and sweet Jesus that is all they need...another fucking welfare baby.
Actually, that might be why the landlord is not pissed about us moving out. Maybe she plans on turning our apartment back into part of the house, because as it stands now, Jamar has a room to himself, his landlord has a room, and Brenda shares a room with the kid (seriously....), so opening up the door to Jamar's room (which is in our apartment) would be smart of them.
That is assuming the place doesn't just get foreclosed upon anyway.
This is the same "mother" I have heard screaming at the 4 year old and calling him a "little fucking asshole."
I cannot wait to move out of that building and never look back.

$42 vet visit. 2 weeks worth of steroids for Eddie (one a day) and observation to see how that works.

He had to remove the passenger side drive shaft to have enough room to remove the old alternator and put the new one in.
At least it's fixed, and after I got the core charge back, was only $150.
I still don't know if my landlord has read the "we are leaving letter" or not.

Then again, a cop showed up today to serve her papers...not sure what, but papers...so who knows what the fuck is happening.
Considering the day I had, that is a good thing. I would have exploded on her...
Christine's battery light came on the other day. Well, her car died at her job...so I had to go get her yesterday. Today I bought a new battery, and drove it down to the parts store. Turns out the alternator was dead...so returned the battery and got that...$200 later.

Tried putting it in today...but I am bad with cars...so I really just spent 2 hours in 10 degree weather...crawling on ice, under a car...
Not fun...

Last night I gave Eddie wet food and was able to prop him up so he could eat it. He stayed and slept like that.
This morning I went to give him more, and he tried to walk over to me. Considering yesterday he could not do ANYTHING...
Looks like whatever it is...is responding to the steroids, so...that may be the path we head down.
The doctor said a bottle of steroids is like $40 for 500. That...I can afford.
We'll see how this goes!

Great way to spend the first day of a new year...
Took Eddie to the emergency vet in Avon because he is locked up so bad he can't move...and peed all over the blanket he was sleeping on last night.
The vet...has no clue what could be wrong with him.
So they gave him fluids because he is dehydrated, and a steroid shot. We are observing him for the next 24 hours since his vet isn't open until Thursday, and seeing if he bounces back.
If not...
I don't have $2000+ for test upon test for something that stumped the vet.
