So my grandmother's friend's car is leaking oil, and rather than fix it...he bought a new one and said I can HAVE the old one for free.
It's in better shape physically then my car, which is good.

My only issue is...my Outback is part of who I am. I know it sounds lame...but I am a Subaru guy.
Durable, tough, rugged, able to handle snow with ease...

But my car is a piece of crap now.
It needs rear rotors, calipers, a back tail light reflector is smashed (wood splitting accident), front fender is dented, and the CB boots in the front are TOAST. The check engine light is on AND it leaks oil...so a car that only leaks oil is an upgrade. Haha.
So I think I may drive this free car for a while, save up some cash...and get an Outback sedan. I REALLY like them.

I guess I can not be a Subaru guy for a little while.

We shall see how this goes. It's a 2005 Passat...but the oil is leaking into the Antifreeze. My step dad may be able to fix it...but we'll see.

Sometimes we've gotta do what we've gotta do bro. Makes sense to drive with only one problem than to continue risking your life with multiple problems. Outbacks are great vehicles and I'm certain that you'll get back into one as soon as possible.

I can understand your affinity; I bought an Outback (new) in Dec 2009 and love it. I especially love the new styling ('crossover' they call it) and it is almost as good as my Volvo wagon (which I bought well used and it ended up being a lemon; $1700 to buy, $6000 to fix and it still had problems 2 years later). Anyway, VWs are good, esp. if they were cared for. Hopefully the leak can be fixed easily and it isn't a cracked head or something similar that happened from operator error (stupidity).

You'll get back to an Outback, I'm sure.
