2012 has taught me a lot so far and one of the major lessons is I need to stop taking good shit for granted.
Example...my old job.
I am sitting here covering 3rd shift for my old boss because the woman who does it hurt her knee, and I realized something...
I miss this job. Yeah, there were nights when I wanted to slit my wrists...and nights I wanted to kill guests or coworkers...but honestly, this fucking job was CAKE.
I got paid $10 an hour to do whatever the fuck I wanted for 8 hours. I could read, watch shows, play Minecraft...and I got PAID to do it.
After working a rather disgusting and physically intense job for the CT DEP, I now realize I had it MINT at this job...
and I secretly am hoping I can somehow get it back.
Either Gary needs to quit like he is always talking about, or something needs to happen where he changes shifts or something because I would LOVE my old Sun-Thurs 3rd shift back. I could adapt to sleeping during the day again. I don't even care...

Either way...it boggles my mind that I actually miss this place. I hated it so much for so long...

Weird how that works huh?

I should keep that sentiment in mind about my current job! Great realization... Just shows you - 'you don;t know what you've got til it's gone'

Good luck!

Wow, what a realization. Funny how perspective is reality like that. I hope it works out and you get what you want smile

It is hard to 'do nothing' and get paid for it. In retrospect it sounds better, but I understand why you didn't like it too. I had a job like that and it drove me nuts. I had a friend long ago who was a courier, paid by the hour, and he lost his job for too many tickets -speeding-. When I asked why, since his incentive was to go as slow as possible, he said 'it was boring'. So, all situations can suck, espescially mindless ones.
