Happy Monday SG'ers!
So this weekend was a good one!
Friday I hosted another Hazz Mat Party. This time we had something special. We did a Fundraiser for LIGHT THE NIGHT and then donated all the door proceeds and the 50/50 in my friend Sarah's name. She is a cancer survivor and took the time to speak to us about it. I am proud to say we donated over $1,000 in door money and then almost $300 in 50/50 tickets (not to mention what people pledged before the show).
I had 7 of the models out in the Hazz Mat gear so fans got to meet some of the guys and dolls. Then we had 3 fantastic Alberta Metal Acts that melted everyone's faces off!

I love having my parties at Verns because I know the management and it's totally that hole in the wall pub that people love to get crazy in. The only downfall is the stage is lit up by a simple track light with three tungsten mini lights on the stage so shit is DARK. At least with bright stage lights I can get less grainy images but this place I have to BUMP up that ISO to almost max of what my camera can do.
So here is my cute model Blake. THE LADIES SWOOOOOON for this guy. He is beautiful inside and out. It was hilarious because every single girl model at one point in the night said "I want to shoot with him!!!! that guy is HOT" but sadly he's dating a girl who doesn't understand art and will not let him model with girls.. only guys. I have even offered this girl to come sit on set and watch that there is no "behind the scenes porn' going on. LOL aaaaaaah people crack me up!.
Here is the singer of MAIMED WOLF. They came in from out of Calgary for my show which I thought was super rad of them. I am a huge fan of death metal and this singer could growl! I haven't been to a hardcore metal show in a while so it was nice to get some headbanging in
This last image is World Class White Trash. I've heard so many things about this group of dudes and they were awesome live. Not to mention the crowd went CRAZY for them.
So my next Hazz Mat hosting party is not until Dec. We are bringing in the IMPLANTS from LA to play this gnarly show for us. We also booked a couple of big names for 2013 shows but I am not allowed to talk about who they are until we announce them in December. So when I get the go ahead I will announce who we have coming for early 2013. All I can tell you is we are hosting a V-Day Massacre Party.

I love when I get to work with this babe (you might even recognize her as I did her Hopeful sets on SG years ago) and every time we shoot her hair is TOTALLY different then the last. She matches is to a T to the outfits, location and theme.
Well SG'ers I am off! I need to edit like a mad women and finish up that first wedding I shot this month. I meet with the Bride and Groom early next week to pick the prints and images for the Press Bound Album.

I'm having a fantastic week!
I've got really good feedback on my wedding teasers on Facebook and I'm pumped because I've got a few consults in Nov for 2013 weddings. I've already got two booked and next year I want to make it my best year with wedding photography. The money is killer but they are a lot of work.
I spend 12hrs on the day shooting then about a total of 12-24hrs after in editing. I make press bound albums that are custom to match the wedding for my clients. I am proud of myself that I don't stress out during these. I still remember clear as day my teacher's in school (all of them) telling us how hard Wedding Photography is and that less then 5 of us students will end up doing them.
After this year... I will no longer do family portraits. After two years, many many families I have grown to hate them. More often then not I deal with bad kids. I can't believe the lack of parenting out there. I am one of those people that will yell at you at the grocery store if your kids are bad and the fact I cant put my two cents in (because I have to keep things professional) really angers me.
I can't even tell you how many times I've come home after a family photo session and cracked open a beer (or rum) to take the edge off. One time I went in on a Sunday (which I RARELY book on because thats my hammer out the editing day) and I got home at 11am and needed a drink and doobie STAT. This kid was one of the worst I've delt with. Spitting at her step dad, running around the studio, farting, burping.. it was HORRIFIC to see this from a 3 year old girl. At that age kids know how to behave. My best friend has 3 kids and I have never seen such good kids. The oldest gives a bit of attitude because shes almost 10 now and starting to show that shes going to be a wild teen LOL poor Kristen but those two girls and their baby brother get diciplined if they are bad and I rarely see that. Actually her husband is pretty funny and I can remember this one time at a dinner party we were drinking after and playing cards and the girls kept running in to check up on the party and their dad was like "So help me god if you don't get back to the play room and finish coloring and listening to your ipods I will light your hair on FIRE!" then they both ran screaming back to the play room and played.
I've got some really sweet news to share..... I am going to be a feature Photographer in a LA and Toronto Magazine.
I've been working soooo hard to get my stuff noticed and proud to say I was contacted about being a feature photographer and I cried I was so happy.
You see I hail from Calgary Alberta Canada and I like to say we are like the Texas of Canada. My city is known for Oil and Gas and I wanted to put us on the map for art.
Calgary is more then just oil and gas... we have a killer underground music scene, stunning models and super talented photographers. I submitted my "About Me" last night and I can't wait to see which images they have picked for the feature. I don't get to see any of it until after its published.
Well SG'ers! I'm off to pick up some props for tonights shoot. I am shooting a Zivity set along with a album cover for a local artist named TRINITY. She's been killing it in the Country scene and got to play at the Big Valley Jamboree this year which is HUGE!.

HOLY HANGOVER BATMAN!
So I am hung to shit today lol. I shot a wedding yesterday and then got my drink on with the wedding party. They are huge scotch drinkers and I had about 7 drinks with a couple of shooters so I am not feeling that good today.
So I wanted to share a couple of the shots. We re-created the Bridesmaids Poster.
I've been crazy busy this month. I am done wedding's though until Dec 29th and then I am done for those until next spring. I was really happy because I've got two weddings booked for 2013 already and then I have to do a consult next month for a potential 3rd. It was so funny because every single teacher I had in school told me that Wedding Photography is the hardest to do. They said its so high stress and less then five of us in this program will get into it. I don't find them stressful at all. I love to shoot them and I love to bring my creative side to the table.
Here's a couple of shots from my Hazz Mat Duo Shoot. I flipping LOVE Vespia Noir and Honz. I am proud to say that Vespia Noir is coming with me in December to HAWAII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BOO YA! I've been dying for years to shoot a model in Maui and now I can do it. I've become really close with Vespia and I am so happy that she is going to be at my wedding on judgement day lol. I still can't believe I am getting married on the day that the world is suppose to end. Funny hey?
Well back to the grind I go. I love love love shooting but the editing process is what kills me. I can't wait to share my first Halloween Themed Shoot with you SG'ers. I did a tribute to one of my Fav Poems from a book called Scary Stories. It was awesome because I got to work with live worms for this one. We shot it out in public at a park and peoples reactions were hilarious!!!! Nicole Lazuli was there on a coffin with a bunch of worms and blood in her mouth. I think this one is going into my fav shoot's of all time collection.

Well I got to see the Medium John Edward today.
He is a master at his craft. He talked to the audience about people who have crossed over and where there to talk to us. I shed a few tears at how this created closure for some families who lost beautiful children way too young.
I've had many traumatic losses of life in my time and as I sat there I was praying to the gods that someone would come to me. I lost one of my best friends when I was 17. Trev was 16 at the time he died in a horrific car accident with a handful of friends. My best friend Missy's brother also died in that car crash and today Trevor came to the medium.
This is the second time Trevor has talked to a medium for me. The first time was when I was 20. I was at a psychic reading party and the lady said to me "I don't want to freak you out but there is someone in the room right now who is talking to me and he wants to talk to you too".
I was jaw dropped. I said oh okay? totally skeptical. She said Trevor is here right now and he is telling me you need to let go. He is okay on the other side and happy. He wants you to know that he is always going to be there for you and watch over your shoulder. He has been with you many times and he see's how sad you are.
It was true. I am even crying right now as I write this. Trev got in a car accident while I was backpacking through the UK/France. My mom called all my friends and said do not tell her about this accident because it is going to crush her. The last day I was in Paris and I called my friend and she broke down and told me the news. I threw up. Trev was on life support in a hospital and I could not be there for him or his family.
When I landed in Calgary my folks were waiting in the terminal for me. I instantly bursted into tears and said we need to go to the hospital RIGHT NOW Trev needs me. My mom started to cry and that his brother called right before they left to get me and that Trevor passed. My mom said he held on so I could be at his funeral.
I struggled with his loss. I could not even go to the grave side because I was so shaken up. My best friend was gone. He was such a great caring guy and the only guy my parents ever let me have in my bedroom to work on our school projects. For years I cried. I still cry when I think about him. He was gone way too soon. I am so glad to know that even though he has crossed over that he still thinks about me.
There were a couple families who lost children and watching the pain and sorrow followed by tears of joy that a medium brought them was heart felt.
Life is too short. Always live each day as if it was your last. Know that "Til We Die" you need to make the best of it. Live life to the fullest and cherish the people you love.

What a fantastic weekend!!!!! So I got to shoot my FIRST wedding of 2012! it was STUNNING! I had two wedding's that were booked in August but both of them bumped their wedding's to 2013 instead which was a total bummer. One of them next year is in Canmore and I've been dying to shoot a Rocky Mountain Wedding and now I can so I should not complain. Next wedding I have is on the 15th I am kind of nervous for that one.
You see I sit down with clients months in advance to book. I book their engagement session and shoot them then I sit down with them 2 weeks prior to the wedding date, collect the remaining balance and then hammer out details and idea's for the formal portraits. This wedding party is 7 Bridesmaids, 9 Groomsmen and 4 flower girls! HOW THE HELL DO I SHOOT A WEDDING PARTY THIS LARGE!?!? it would be easy if I had the room but they are getting married right in downtown Calgary and never booked a limo to take them to the formals. They expect to shoot them downtown with the buildings.
people don't understand how hard it is to shoot large groups.
I don't know if I told you this yet.. but I am going to the Islands for my wedding and Christmas this year. MAUI HAWAII LOOK OUT BECAUSE HAZZARD IS COMING TO PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best part... Vespia Noir is coming with me! I freaking love love love this girl. I can't wait because were going to shoot her on the Island for Hazz Mat and Zivity. I have been to Maui so many times and every time I am there I say "I would kill to shoot a model here" and I was in tears when she called me that she booked a week vacation there to watch us get married and then party hardy and shoot sets. I just put a post in the Hawaii model connections on Facebook and I am looking for girls to shoot for Zivity. I really hope I can find more models there because I am going to be there for a long time 
My model T-Racey is the babe of the week this week. She came to me with this set idea and I loved it. I have totally fallen in love with night photography and playing with my Alienbees during the night and creating art.

Afternoon SG'ers!!!!!!!
How is everyone doing???
Well I've had a whirlwind week. My Uncle passed away last week from Cancer. They started him on his chemo treatments then sched him in to get his intestines removed and then last week he was at my cousins house for lunch and acting really strange. She said Dad are you feeling okay and he said he was but she decided to take him to the hospital. They took him into the room and he died.
So Monday was his funeral. I went with my parents and my sister. My mom just got out of surgery this weekend and was released from the hospital Monday morning and insisted she had to be there for my family. I was so proud of her.
So this is my shit storm side of my family. They are full of convicts, drug addicts and alcoholics and only a select few that we are close with (the non-crazy ones). For the most part the funeral was a nice ceremony at a funeral home then the ended it with a bang.
The lady asked at one point if anyone wanted to share a story or kind words. We immediately turn to my Aunty Sharon who's son is a preacher in some stupid religion and they always have to put in two cents. For once.. they were SILENT. So then they finish with a Eulogy and then tell us that next door there are coffee and sandwiches for the family. Just as everyone is about to get up my Aunt stands up and says she has some words..
She gets up there with this bible from god knows what and then tells the audience about her close relationship with my uncle which was a total crock of shit. There is a reason we don't associate with her family. So as she reads this passage I had to put my head down because I started to laugh. I know it is not the place for laughter but this shit was seriously out to lunch. My sister tells me to stop because she too is about to laugh. Then my Auntie finished and I look up to my cousin Michelle who has this look of hate across her face. My Aunt sits down and then Michelle gets up to the podium.
She states that it was hard for her to speak at her own Father's funeral but her Father is a NO bullshit kind of man and that was a whole wack of bullshit. She felt the strength of her father and needs to set things right. She talked about the things in his life he loved and it made me happy she finished off the funeral right.
I then wait until the funeral room is clear so I can help my mom to her scooter but I said was that scientology? my sister said no it was from this (I cant remember the name now). So we get to the next room and Michelle grabs me to hug me and thank me for the photo of her Dad (I took a really nice one of him last year at Thanksgiving and that was what they used for the funeral) and I said thank you for finishing off the funeral right. I told her that was me who laughed and did she read it from the Bible of Bat Shit Crazy from the gospel of Wing Nut? she laughed and said she knew her Dad was flipping in his grave right now.
So then last night I get a call from a musician from a band on my bill for September 21st. He spoke with the other bands on the bill and they are all wanting to donate the door proceeds to a cancer foundation here. You see my good friend Keith's girlfriend has cancer and has been in and out of treatments since February of this year. This past weekend they called them in and told her she is cancer free and they would love to fundraise and create awareness for Cancer.
This could not come at a better time as I just lost someone to that horrible disease. So soon enough I'll have details out on the band line up at Verns Tavern for September 21st.
I also had a horrible thing to do this week. I had to write a letter to fire one of my models. I felt like this person's heart was not with us. They showed up to every set late and last one really chapped my ass because I paid to rent a chopper. I rented it for an hour and the model showed up almost two hours late and we had no bike. The real kicker?? this model owns a fucking bike! so the money I spent was a total waste! then this model took one of my set idea's to a group in Calgary and they did almost the exact concept I had. So after seeing my next large concept done again with my Hazzardous Twist on it I knew it was time I had to let this model go.
So on a good note.. I have a casting call this weekend. I've got 50 interviews with models who are local and non-local. I am shocked that people are coming from out of province to come work with me. What is even cooler? we finally have a good handful of guys coming out!
So Minerva is back on the site! she had to take a break from work due to an illness and I am glad she is better and back on board for the Art
How is everyone doing???
Well I've had a whirlwind week. My Uncle passed away last week from Cancer. They started him on his chemo treatments then sched him in to get his intestines removed and then last week he was at my cousins house for lunch and acting really strange. She said Dad are you feeling okay and he said he was but she decided to take him to the hospital. They took him into the room and he died.
So Monday was his funeral. I went with my parents and my sister. My mom just got out of surgery this weekend and was released from the hospital Monday morning and insisted she had to be there for my family. I was so proud of her.
So this is my shit storm side of my family. They are full of convicts, drug addicts and alcoholics and only a select few that we are close with (the non-crazy ones). For the most part the funeral was a nice ceremony at a funeral home then the ended it with a bang.
The lady asked at one point if anyone wanted to share a story or kind words. We immediately turn to my Aunty Sharon who's son is a preacher in some stupid religion and they always have to put in two cents. For once.. they were SILENT. So then they finish with a Eulogy and then tell us that next door there are coffee and sandwiches for the family. Just as everyone is about to get up my Aunt stands up and says she has some words..
She gets up there with this bible from god knows what and then tells the audience about her close relationship with my uncle which was a total crock of shit. There is a reason we don't associate with her family. So as she reads this passage I had to put my head down because I started to laugh. I know it is not the place for laughter but this shit was seriously out to lunch. My sister tells me to stop because she too is about to laugh. Then my Auntie finished and I look up to my cousin Michelle who has this look of hate across her face. My Aunt sits down and then Michelle gets up to the podium.
She states that it was hard for her to speak at her own Father's funeral but her Father is a NO bullshit kind of man and that was a whole wack of bullshit. She felt the strength of her father and needs to set things right. She talked about the things in his life he loved and it made me happy she finished off the funeral right.
I then wait until the funeral room is clear so I can help my mom to her scooter but I said was that scientology? my sister said no it was from this (I cant remember the name now). So we get to the next room and Michelle grabs me to hug me and thank me for the photo of her Dad (I took a really nice one of him last year at Thanksgiving and that was what they used for the funeral) and I said thank you for finishing off the funeral right. I told her that was me who laughed and did she read it from the Bible of Bat Shit Crazy from the gospel of Wing Nut? she laughed and said she knew her Dad was flipping in his grave right now.
So then last night I get a call from a musician from a band on my bill for September 21st. He spoke with the other bands on the bill and they are all wanting to donate the door proceeds to a cancer foundation here. You see my good friend Keith's girlfriend has cancer and has been in and out of treatments since February of this year. This past weekend they called them in and told her she is cancer free and they would love to fundraise and create awareness for Cancer.
This could not come at a better time as I just lost someone to that horrible disease. So soon enough I'll have details out on the band line up at Verns Tavern for September 21st.
I also had a horrible thing to do this week. I had to write a letter to fire one of my models. I felt like this person's heart was not with us. They showed up to every set late and last one really chapped my ass because I paid to rent a chopper. I rented it for an hour and the model showed up almost two hours late and we had no bike. The real kicker?? this model owns a fucking bike! so the money I spent was a total waste! then this model took one of my set idea's to a group in Calgary and they did almost the exact concept I had. So after seeing my next large concept done again with my Hazzardous Twist on it I knew it was time I had to let this model go.

It's been a shitty week for me. We had the worst storm EVER in Calgary and it was bad things come in three's that day.
So I found out my Uncle died during lunch and I was so upset. We had to cancel Edmonton this weekend with friends we were seeing Metallica. Not only that I had a Edmonton shoot marathon that I needed desperately on Saturday with clients. You see I had two wedding's bump to 2013 and the lack of the $4,000 this summer has really killed me financially. I would of been fine but I have to pay for my own wedding on top of it so this has been a shitty summer. Not to mention how many of my reg clients are now going to students because "They offer $50 sessions". My boudoirs are what are keeping me alive, paying for my studio and paying my mortgage. I'm glad we get work from people on Facebook who are fans of the page. Boudoir is def my fav
SO I am waiting for the storm to break so I can drive and do a bank deposit and it finally breaks. As I walk to my car a huge gust comes and rolls me down the street. I lost papers, gift cards, a whole wack of my new business cards and my iphone is SHATTERED!. As I cry and scramble to pick up everything in the rain I watch a man in a truck drive by and laugh at me.
I get home finally and my Computer room window was left open. $300 of art prints RUINED. I sat down and cried. I don't understand what I've done to receive such bad karma? After my shoots today I am getting sage and doing a cleanse.
So I've been busy as a bee with shoots for the site. I had to do the next 6 weeks of Hazz Mat sets now because Sept 1st I have a wedding to shoot and then September 15th as well. My November wedding clients are a no go because the fucking assholes booked a hotel in Banff that has a "Strict No Photographer Policy" as they provide you with one. The Bride was angry with me at the fact I would not come and sit as a guest at the wedding and take photos. Wedding photographers don't work like that. So there is another wedding gone! I got a $200 deposit and did the engagement photos so there I basically got paid for a couples shoot but she thinks she is entitled to a refund of the deposit.
I just don't understand some people. They don't understand the planning that goes into photography, the time consumption after and the fact if you don't book and hold your date I lose money.

Happy Hump De Bump Day!
So I've been ballz deep in work this week! sorry for the delay and I will get to the MR sets to give some love and feedback! last time I was in there I was shocked at the amount of talent SG is getting. YOU LADIES ROCK!
So I had my first extremely scary experience as a photographer. Last Friday I was shooting at 10:40pm on Nose Hill in Calgary. This is a family friendly park and hell I am not going to lie.. the place I use to meet my friends at in high school to drink and smoke pot at. I've shot loads there this year with clients and models and NEVER had a issue with this location.
So me and my model are loading my car and my Fiance Dougie walks up from visiting his friends and asked if we wanted him to come and assist and I was like PHEW thank eff because I have 3 strobes to carry up a hill. We get to the location and set up the strobes and start to shoot.
All of a sudden two huge intoxicated men jump out from the bushes and start to circle us. I have over ten grand of equipment with me at this time and I start to sweat. One of the guys was yelling all kinds of mumbo jumbo and they were a new kind of high.. Im thinking bath salts.. they were irrate and crazy.
So one guy goes for me and Doug snap screams at him as he jumps over my lights The dude stops and backs up from me and goes HOLY SHIT your a dude!?! and then they book it. My man gets mistaken all the time for a lady until they see his face. Hes got stunning long curly hair and always gets the "woot woot" from men.
I could not relax for the rest of my shoot for fear of these men coming back. They were a new kind of high. Both me and my model were thanking our lucky stars that Doug was with me. I really believe we would of been raped and my equipment stolen. From now on I will never shoot at night without men there with me for emergency. Even my next duo set this weekend is outdoors and both models are nude and I am bringing two men to be the look out and if there is any issues they are just a scream away.
So on a good note... I did another dark fantasy tale.... here is my version of the LIL Mermaid.
This was so funny to shoot. So within minutes of getting to the location we had a crowd of teenage boys who just stood there smoking and cheering on the girls.. then a few minutes later they came by sea! I had boys on seadoos rolling up to watch this and I had to tell them to move far left because they were in my scene and I did not want to spend the time editing them out! ha ha
I also sold out of my first wave of Ladies Tanks in Large and XL which was mind blowing! I can't wait because my new order is here this weekend along with the underwear I designed for the ladies. I've been smiling at all of the fan photos on Facebook of girls rocking the Hazz Mat Tanks and some of them even made halter tops out of the t-shirts! some ladies are really talented!
Well I am off to pick up some fake teeth for a set. One of the models is getting punched out so I got mint flavored blood and fake teeth from a dentist for him to spit at the camera during the shoot.. EEEEK I can't wait for this one!

Happy Hump Day SG'ers!!!
So I've been having a fab week so far except last night I had another sleepless night because of the wild teenagers next door. God I feel old balls talking about this. But the police are no longer going to do anything because every time they do the trailer park mother lies and says its her drinking and listening to loud music. FUCK! so I have now addressed a letter to child services to investigate. I've also been taking video from my bedroom to "prove" these assholes are really doing drugs til 6am on the deck.
I can remember partying at 16. I remember drinking at parents house's when they were on vacation but I NEVER in my life did cocaine til 6am at that age. I never saw coke until I worked in the music industry and I was 25 before I saw it. These kids are doing, X, Mushrooms, Coke and smoking either crack or meth because I personally am a stoner hippy who smokes pot and I at least know what that is like. I really hope they snap out of this because those kids are on a downward spiral.
So on a good note.. I've been working my butt off and finally seeing it pay off. I had over 3,200 hits a week on the Facebook Group!!!! EEEK! I vow to make it to 4,000 hits a week by September 1st.
I did a photoshoot this weekend for my site with two of the models and it was hilarious. We went to shoot on a lake in Alberta and this town word must spread fast. We had a crowd of teenage boys watching us from the shoreline, then all of a sudden.. SEA DOOS? more guys coming over to watch on the water but I had to get them to move because they were in my scene. I can't wait to show this set
So I got to work with Nicole Lazuli finally!!!!!!!!!!! since I met her at the casting call I KNEW she was a perfect match for my work. She's tiny, dark and beautiful!. She was quirky and super cute and I had a blast doing her set.
Now we had to shoot her backup shoot because the weather in Calgary has been fucking me royally in the ass this summer. Everytime I have had shoots booked its being a downpour, hail, windstorms, tornado warnings.. just a total shit storm. So every model shoot I've booked for the outdoors has a backup shoot for indoors JUST IN CASE. I don't think it's fair to my models that I cancel because of weather. They depend on me for paid shoots and I pay my models for the set before we even shoot. So I always have a plan B in mind. So for Nicole.. plan B is what we had to go for because I ordered a custom built prop for her other set and there is no way we are risking that outdoors during a storm.
