Day 42 of sobriety and things are going okay. I will be picking up my restrictive driver's license today so I will be able to drive to work again which has me ultra excited! It has been taking me almost an hour and a half on public transit to commute to work. Recently we had to get off the bus and wait for the next one to come on two occassions. Once when the rear brakes started smoking like crazy and the other time because two guys got into a fist fight on the bus. Throw in all the other joys that public transit brings and needless to say, I will not be missing it one bit espescially since I will be able to get to work now in about 15 minutes. Aside from that, I have been going to meetings, have a sponsor I like that I have been working the steps with the last month or so. The hardest thing is working through my depression and trying to find another way to do it that doesn't involve drinking. All the things I wasn't facing, that I was putting off are now staring me right in the face "hey, remember us? We didn't go anywhere." I'm just taking it one day at a time....

Just got out of rehab, 35 days of sobriety!!! Checked in on the SG sets I missed and noticed something interesting. All the girls seem to have a similiar body type, maybe I was too drunk to notice before. Is SG now looking for girls with a particular look. Could they have contracted a little Zivity-envy while I was gone?

I was recenlty charged with 2 counts of DUI after side swiping two parked cars on Sunday. I spent Sunday night in the drunk tank getting served my mind eating dogshit for food for dinner. Imagine yourself in an 8x10 bright white cell, with a room mate who won't shut up about how fucked up it is the his girlfrend made false accussations about domestic abuse and got him locked up. All of a sudden I'm a lawyer and know all that legal shit. There was a slit in the door way for natural light to come through otherwise, no clock or anything aside from lying in the hard metal cot and using the toilet to pass the time. I was in there 8 hours but, it felt like twice that long. And then when I got out, they wouldn't give me time to put on my shoe laces or my belt before shoving me outside. Lesson learned: Do not drink and drive! It could have been worse for me, I could have hurt or killed somebody even so, a night in lock up really sucked and set me straight. I thought it couldn't happen, that I had a handle on it but, I don't ...HI! My name is Happyboy and I am an ...alcohoilc.

No halloween festivities at work! Fuckin' cool man!

Here's the rundown. My company for years would have monthly socials/bbqs plus an annual picnic and an annual holiday party. Thanks to the economy we no longer have the monthly parties nor picnic or holiday shindig so, the ony thing left is the regular Halloween bash put on by the staunch group of ghoully loyalists. However this year, apparently a change is in order.

We are stafffed by more then a hundred folks and one of them feels the decorations we put up last year are satanical even though no direct reference to the most foul has ever been made let alone any sort of sacrifice human or whatever. While cool, the decorations we have ALWAYS USED are timid enough that my 6 year old and 3 year old nieces could handle them with no problem. But thanks to this unnamed person we can forego those worries never expressed or felt and Halloween will thankfully become another day we just show up, do our do, and then go home.

Isn't political correctness just the best thing ever!

Maybe I am old fashioned, but doesn't one girl calling another "dude" sound like one guy calling another "girlfriend?"

I am starting over at the midway point. Everything is new and familiar at the same time. My weakness reminds me of my strength. Potential is a scary word, terrifying indeed. It binds you, limits you, gives you station. Once this has been done your fate is realized. From this comes the fear. Can I fulfill my destiny? Will it bring me peace? I hate writing blogs, they remind me of how little I have to say...

The sun rises drying the dew that kisses the innocent plants below, The selfish trees refuse to share their years of wisdom. We are eternal but only for a time you see? Change is amongst us. We breath it in, let it discolor our lungs, slow our movements, make us question our beliefs, who we are. What is to understand? What is ....truly....important? Are we meant to know or are we simply here to be analyzed like lab rats in a maze of unknown size? We think, we are, we die, we fertilize. Is that the meaning of life? Does it really matter? There are some questions that are meant to be pondered but never answered and that is the joke only a special few will ever get.

Things I am into right now:

*Our new receptionist, cause she's hot. Her boyfriend is 6', 6" but, it could still be worth it.

*Prozac, this whole shockahbookoo thing is working out better then I had hoped.

*Becoming a Paralegal. I am nervous about the super organization skills it requires and all but, at the same time, I think finally being stressed for a good reason would have its own rewards

*Tortoise, Jet Black Crayon, Portugal the Man, Minus the Bear, Porno for Pyros, Paper Tongues...

*Kicking the cable tv habit for good
