Hello all, I have recently returned from a business trip to the UAE where I'll be moving to soon. What an amazing country... was scortching hot there 37 degrees C when I left, returning to a chilly South Africa.
I did some shopping while I was there of course... check these sneakers!!

So not to sure how many people end up reading my blogs.... but a big update coming.
Since returning to SA I have had three different jobs at three different companies in 22 months. That may sound impressive but just havent found the right company. SO, in October last year I started looking for work abroad again... BUT what a mission.
I went for three interviews and made the cut for a job in Seattle, however when HR got involved they informed me all the H-1B visas for the year had been allocated. That is what I would need to enter the US. I was gutted as they had to give the role to someone else. I was however referred to an opportunity in Toronto, I went through the interview process and accepted the offer. BUT again I was frought by the visa issue, it would take 3-5 months for me to get the work visa to enter the country. Again the role was then given to someone else.
I then appied for a job in the UK and the UAE .. my application for the UK was unsuccessful and I got the job in the UAE!!!
Finallly!!
So we move in 5 months to Dubai. I love the city (not as much as London though) but its up there with my top 5.
We have also sold one of our houses, just waiting on the money to clear ... not that we will see any of it.. Credit Cards to pay off. No more debt.. yay.

Well its 7am here in SA on a Saturday morning and Im wide awake.. the wife is still sleeping. Not sure why I am so awake..
Well I have started my new job, third in less than two years, just cant seem to find the right company to work for. I also had a couple of job offers in Canada and the USA but as always visa's are an issue for me being a South African.
My wife and I are keen to leave South Africa again but will have to wait and see what comes up, who know maybe Dubai.

I have had a rough couple of months ... Started a lengthy interview process with a IT company in the US. After 4 interviews with different people I was offered the job .. BUT.. they then discovered that the H1-B visa quota for this year has been filled. Im a South African and need a visa for everyting.
You can imagine my disappointment !!!! I was pissed.
I did some calling around and it ends up they also have the same position I can fill in Toronto Canada... So I am waiting to hear from their lawyers.. Hopefully I will be moving to Canada in a month or two.

Looks like summer is finally here.. took it's time didn't it.
Big month this month, my wife and my 8th wedding anniversay and her birthday on the 27th... so lots of flowers and dinner ahead.
Also my new job hasn't really worked out the way I wanted.. so I've hit the red button and looking for a way out. We have also decided to leave SA again.. I have two opportunities on in San Jose CA and one in London..
Anyone from San Jose out there.. whats it like.. I have lived in San Fran but never ventured south to San Jose? Good or bad place to live?

Got myself a new job, but still commuting into Sandton everyday. Also got myself new wheels, and loving it. The Jeep was just to unreliable.
My wife and I recently spent the day at a lion park in Roodepoort, her first time touching lion cubs.. it was great fun, the little fucker are so cute but very powerful.
and a random pic .. was getting coffee one morning.
I was tempted to push the bottom right button.
