It's been a while.

This is probably the earliest I've been up on a Saturday in as long as I can remember. After getting around 3-4 hours of sleep for the past week, it finally caught up to me. I feel amazing now. Life has been remotely uninteresting; my brother is down from Pittsburgh until the end of the month. I see Universal in our near future... I've lived here for over 4 years now and I still haven't been there once.
I've gotten an artist's itch lately; getting back into doing shit on my own time instead of just at work. Doing corporate and collegiate design all day can really make you forget all of the other styles of design that you used to work in. I finally got ahold of a limited Aaron Horkey print that I've been looking for since last year. Oh eBay, despite your shittiness, you manage to redeem yourself after all this time.

176/250
I guarantee you that shit is going to cost more to frame than the actual print cost; a small price to pay to keep it intact, I suppose.
I'm really looking forward to March; I'll be having a bunch of Pittsburgh people stopping in to visit over Spring Break, which should be awesome. It's been a while since anyone has visited me down here. I was up in Pittsburgh for a week over Christmas time and got to see a lot of people that I haven't seen in many years--really makes you reminisce and miss old times.
Creepy facial hair, out.

This week has been absolutely miserable, and by far the worst I've had in a very, very long time. Surprisingly enough, it's not the cause of work, relationship trouble, or other petty things. You always get those phone calls on the days when everything seems to be working out fine. There's large gaps in between bad things happening, but when all is quiet, you just feel it in the back of your mind that something is going to come and take all that positivity away from you. Losing a friend at such a young age hurts more than it should, really. You should celebrate these peoples' lives, but in the end, all you can think of when you look down at their coffin is how you'll never be able to laugh with them again, and you'll never be able to give them a hug, and tell them how much you mean to them. Rest in peace, Zach. You will not be forgotten.
Other less painful physical scars also seem to be healing up nicely. This is the result of attempting to pick up the cat when she was hungry first thing in the morning:

Regardless, here's to hoping this mental pain goes away quicker than the latter. I'm not sure I can take burying another friend anytime soon.

Well, these past few weeks have been awesome. The bitch upstairs decided that she was going to break her lease and move out early, which is fanfuckingtastic, because I no longer have to deal with her douchebag dog barking at six o'clock in the goddamn morning. Also, as of Saturday, I'm 25 now. Fuck.
Went to a wedding a few weeks ago... the first time I have ever worn a tux in my entire life, and hopefully not the last, because apparently I clean up surprisingly well.
Some friends are going to be coming into town this week, which is pretty awesome, and I'll be in Pittsburgh on Labor Day. It has been far, far too long. It'll only be for 4 days, but I'm sure I'll get enough accomplished. I really miss that city.
I found this shit on reddit: http://soundcloud.com/shamantis/j-biebz-u-smile-800-slower#play Given the fact I have never actually heard any Justin Beiber music, and only heard shit about him, I'm going to just pretend this is what he sounds like all the time, and just play the role of the blissfully ignorant. This sounds so ambient and enjoyable it's insane; it reminds me a lot of Sigur Ros, actually. Regardless, if you like Sigur Ros, you should check that out.

Summers in Florida are way too hot to live without AC in your car. At least I'm not wearing around that permanent fur coat anymore. It makes the heat a lot more tolerable.

The new job has been working out well. I just had my three month performance review and they seemed pretty happy with me. Raises are always nice.
I'm planning on heading up to Pittsburgh in September for Labor Day to visit the familia and some friends. I'm hoping to get to Kennywood, since I haven't been there in ages. Some Potato Patch would be clutch right about now.
Molly is headed to Kentucky on Wednesday for a week, so I'll be on my own until she gets back. My diet will likely consist of Mellow Mushroom, Japanese, Thai, and Vegan food since I lack the motivation to cook for just one person.
I've just been mostly playing Mass Effect lately in my free time. My games-to-play list just keeps getting longer and longer, but I've been so sporadic with games lately that it's hard to pick what I want to play next. I was on a Metal Gear Solid re-play mission, but I haven't touched them since I beat the second one a few weeks ago. Inspiration, please.
Music-wise, not much has been happening in Orlando. I really miss the shows that Pittsburgh used to get back in the late 90's and early 00's, but ever since all of the good venues aside from Smalls shut down, Pittsburgh has been pretty shit for shows from what I hear as well. I think I'm starting to be some sort of old man that just reminisces about the old days of how shit used to be, and how bad things really are in music. I haven't found anything good to listen to in ages, mostly because I'm more-or-less a social recluse down here in Florida. I have a few friends, but nothing compared to the legion I had up north.
What have you kids been up to? I'm horrible about keeping in touch with what yinz are up to. These journal entries feel so awkward when you have nothing to report.

The Ghoulish returns... minus half.
A lot has happened since I've been on here last! My promise to post more on here obviously was broken.. but alas, I return.

Also, glasses.

Scary, right?

When this cat isn't chewing through wires and ripping shit apart.. this is what you get.

I've been doing the whole diet and exercise thing now for a few months, since I put on a couple (that's being generous) pounds over the last few years. It's been pretty crazy, but I'm digging it. I'm running about 4.5 miles every other day now, and coming home a sopping wet mess due to Florida humidity.

Other than that, life has been cool. The girl just got back from Texas after being there for three weeks, so it's nice to have her back. Other than the cat's destruction around the apartment, I haven't had much to clean up.
I couldn't go get Japanese food for the first time at the restaurant I go to every Saturday for the first time in over a year today, because they were closed. At least the cook called me and let me know, but I still feel like part of my weekend is missing. Maybe I'll try something different tonight. I'm really feeling like some Indian.. Mattar Paneer is one of the best veggie dishes that's made.. and with a side of nan bread? Heaven.
I'll be up in Pittsburgh in two weeks (June 12-20th) for a change.. 6 months away from home is far too long for my taste. I'll be around so I'm always up for drinks or food, otherwise. I'm really craving some Fiori's pizza. I haven't had good pizza in far too long.
