I got my call today.
I will be stationed in Freising, which fortunately is within easy reach of Munich, so I won't have to move and turn my marriage into a weekend-relationship. That would have sucked...

And, although this sounds like a military assignement, it's just my first place to teach. Staatliche Realschule Freising.
Hmmm... Than again, we already had a few kids shooting fellow students here in Germany... so it could be LIKE a military assignement.

But I'm really excited now.

Added bonus: Pope Benedikt XVI will be in Germany during the first and second week of September. He used to be bishop of Freising before becomming a Cardinal in Rome and he's comming to visit.
I might get a chance to see him Awesome! No, I'm not a Roman Catholic, I'm a practicing heathen, but I'm a Pope Fan! (Is that sick? Propably depends on whom you ask..) He used to be the Head of what 300 years ago was called the Inquisition. MUAHAHAHA!

Tomorrow will be a very special day. I'm getting my first tattoo. I think I'm kinda late for that. First tattoo at 33, but hey, better late than never.
I wonder what my future pupils will think about a teacher with piercings, a tattoo and long hair. I do not really fit the clichée about teachers, but what the fuck...

Oh man! Today is one of those days when you find out you just jumped off the train before it hit a wall. In this particular case I really don't mind if the train gets smashed up, burns out and is shelled with nuclear artillery rounds afterwards...
I used to think I could judge people's characters, I was wrong. At least I learned something and I fucking don't care what happens next since they are over there and I'm right here. I just have to wait for them to drown in their own quagmire of self-pitty and lethargy.
