Is it wrong that I identify more with a Nexus-6 replicant?

YAY!!! We're moving back to Portland!

It's been three long years and we're finally coming home. We gave 30 days notice yesterday morning, so we'll be back the latter half of August. I cannot adequately express how relieved and excited I am!

We have a (temporary) place to live, as long as we need to, until we find something more permanent. Not sure specifically what I'm gonna do for work, but I have a few leads and some good ideas where to look.

Every time I leave Portland I can only stay away for a few years, if even that. It truly feels the most like home of anywhere I've lived.

According to the status page for this bill, HB246 Montana-made Firearms and Ammunition for Commerce Clause has passed into law and will take effect October 1, 2009!!! So, who's moving to Montana with me?

Well, somebody bought me some time on here. I don't know who it was, but THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

It seems like ages since I've been on here. It'll take me a little time to update my profile, so bear with me.

I realize I haven't been aorund for a while. Been very busy. Moved across the state; started a new job; had a kid; et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. I hope all is well with everyone.

Official Announcement: We're Moving

Though some of you have known, and others suspected, it's now official. Michelle has been offered a great job, and I have some very promising prospects myself. Basically, it's an opportunity we simply can't pass up. I used to say I'd never move back there, but I of all people should know: never say never.

The Medford area has changed a lot since I lived there last, and it's now a place I could tolerate. Even enjoy. I'll finally have the time and money to get back into camping, hiking, and backpacking, regular trips to the shooting range, and weekly practical shooting sessions at the gun club. Most of all it will get me out of security once and for all. So no more fucked up schedules, which means more time spent with my family and friends.

Some of you may feel that you're losing me, not being here in the Portland area. But you need to ask yourself one question: When is the last time any of you saw me? I'm gonna guess it was probably about two years ago, before I started working security again. We plan on taking regular trips (eventually) back up here to visit friends & family, shop, maybe even attend the occasional party, birthday or otherwise.

For those of you that have my phone number: I have Cricket. Unfortunately, Cricket has not yet expanded to southern Oregon (much past Eugene, anyway), so I will be without phone service until I can get set up with another company. For anyone who needs or would like an address, I can supply that also.

I'll especially miss everyone in the SGPDX group, but I haven't been around much for a couple years anyway.

It's been fun. See you around.

TEN REASONS WHY GAY MARRIAGE IS WRONG:

01) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

02) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

03) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

05) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

06) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

07) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

08) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

09) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.
