The wife and I watched a show last night on TV about "The History of Sex".

Basically, everything regarding sexual activity that is considered "nornal" and "accepted" was all devised by the church in the Middle Ages. Furthermore, the ones that defined what was acceptable and not acceptable were the ones that were supposed to be celibate.

So, guys who never had sex, sat around and thought about all the ways to have sex and then decided they would impose their views on everyone.

Folks, I am a Christian but that does not mean that I have to go along with something that is just plain wrong. Sodomy, oral sex, etc are not wrong.

It does not matter if we are hetro, bi, lesbian, gay or transgendered! God made us how we are and there is no reason for any human to impose their views on us regarding sex.

Watching the show did not shake my views on being a Christian but it does make me think that the church has pulled some bonehead moves from time to time.

You also have to love guys like St. Augustine who went around fathering illegitimate children then started espousing celebacy in middle adulthood.

Celibacy, I'm convinced, is the most useless spiritual concept ever contrived. It does not purge one of "impure" urges. It only creates new perversions and makes existing ones worse. At least that is all I have ever seen in my own limited exposure.

It is folly to supress the human animal, or to think that you can ever change its nature.

Yes I try to base my writing style on the Playboy articles. Their depth never ceases to get my blood rolling.

I ate protein all week, I'm sure I really need iron, but it's all in the same food, right?

I'm not convinced those guys weren't having sex...those priests always had bunches of illegitimate children running around. The hypocrisy was/is astounding.

A bunch of celibate guys making rules about sex is like a bunch of politicians who never served a single day in the armed forces telling us that we need to go to war . Ooops...yeah , that happens too .

I guess that's why everybody has the ability to think for themselves . smile
