Aw yes...I've found that I have been listening to a lot of GNR lately. Perfect summertime music....

I will not waste my time with a long update. I am busy doing stuff. I could be really cool and post a bunch of pics about why my life is sooo awesome, but instead I'd rather just be drunk.

In other news, I expect to be at Hellcity in August. Until then, biding my time going to shows, hanging out with friends, and working on being creative.

Hopefully, my website will online and fully functional in a few months. Then the fun will begin....

Damn I love summertime...it is by far my favorite season of the year. I want to move some place where it never snows again....However, for the time being...I'm here in Ohio...home of the bland, land of the gray...(at least in the winter time). All matters of where I live aside, I've been staying too busy to really care how the weather is, as I've been locked away trying finish up a huge project.

I have managed to have some fun here and there, so I'm not distraught about the fact that I've turned down several opportunities to go out and have fun. Most notably, I went and saw Skinny Puppy recently in Cleveland, which came up somewhat unexpectedly. It was a good show, however, not nearly as cool as the last time I saw him here in Columbus for the Greater Wrong of the Right tour. It just didn't seem as organized, driven, or masterful as the last time I saw them, even though the crowd at this recent show was easily three times larger than the crowd was the first time I saw them. Nonetheless, OhGr did sport a nifty mask part way through the set that was easily the creepiest and coolest mask I've ever seen anyone wear onstage. The only bad part of the show was this fucking moron standing to my left that apparently thought he was part of the fucking act and kept trying to mimic OhGr with stupid hand motions and some wrap-around sunglasses. I had to leave his general vicinity as he kept looking at me like I was supposed to pay attention to him and not the show onstage. It was slightly annoying, and I moved to a different area before anything bad had to happen.

Next weekend I'll be with Meow at SG Cedar Point and will be hanging out at the Pink House afterwards, for old times sake. I'm looking forward to it, even if a lot of people don't show up.

Not too much else of interest going on that I feel like typing out, so thats it for this entry.

As always, please check out my art and if interested in any prints, please hit me up! I have several prints already made of different pieces and can always work to whatever price range or size print you have in mind.

Out.

Alright...its been a minute since my last post, but I haven't felt the urge to sit in front of the computer and plug away on the keyboard in awhile...thats the good thing about having things to bide my time.

So this is the last week my artwork is on display at Stained Skin tattoo on High Street here in Columbus. It's been up for two months now and its finally time for it to be taken down.

I still have a few pieces for sale, and some very fine giclee prints of Driver: Exit Vehicle. Please see some examples below. If anyone is interested in buying some of my work or having custom prints made, then hit me up! I'll do what I can to accommodate you and the price range your looking at. To everyone that made it out to my opening night back in April, thanks again for coming out and showing your support! I hope to have another showing this fall with some new work, however no final details have been arranged.

Otherwise, life has been good. Hectic, but good. I've been extremely busy working on an LP that I hope to have completed by this fall, among other things. I've put a lot of thought into it, and so far, the results have been somewhat satisfactory. It's a huge project to undertake when its just me working on it, but I think the effort will be worth it in the end, provided the project turns out the way I envision it to.

There's always more art that I have planned out, and now that I'm done designing my website, I have some more time to focus on the other art thats been begging to be released. I'd like to get back into the airbrush and spray paint work I used to do, and I have a few key objects that are primed and ready for paint. I've got a 30's vacuum cleaner shaped like an old-school bomb, a bass guitar all sanded down, and a Mustang trunklid ready for a mural. It all comes down to time...

All that shite aside, the girlie Meow and I had a very nice vacation down in Myrtle Beach this month. It was nice to take a break from the constant thought process of "What do I have to do today, and when is it going to get done". It was a much needed vacation filled with some great times. I'd elaborate more, but I think she's got it fairly well covered in her blog...The only thing I can say is, we definitely conquered the 18th hole of a certain golf course...Hey, when it comes to detailed updates, sometimes I can be a lazy sot.

So far this summer is looking to be great for seeing shows. This weekend I've got Skinnny Puppy, and shortly after that we're going to Tool for a few dates, followed by Slayer and Manson (provided we get tickets). And the summer is only starting...

Also, I should be headed out to Arizona for the Hellcity Tattoo Fest and may even be working on a few art projects while I'm there, however, we'll see just how that pans out. Meanwhile, the organizer Durb is almost finished with a color chest plate on my right pec that is looking incredible. I've got one more session where he's gonna throw in some detail and shading work on top of the crazy color foundation that's already been laid down. I'll be sure to post some pics when its down.

Alas, my rambling has come to an end.

Adios bitches!

So Friday night was great. I went out with my girlie Meow to Indy for a Drum N' Bass show at this club that I don't even remember the name of. However, the show was awesome. I got to see 3 of the DJ's that were playing and really enjoyed the last 2, particular John B's set. There was some DJ that was on stage right before Jon B that had some crazy dreads and was mixing a really cool blend of drum n' bass that happened to throw some fuckin polka into the mix....I didn't even think it was possible. It was definitely an unexpected and funny twist to his set.

John B's set was very original and by far the best of the evening. I had not been exposed to his music before Friday, and I must say that I am now a fan after seeing the performance. It was cool getting to hang out with him before and after the show. Thanks to Meow getting recruited by the show's promoters to announce the act and promote SG, we got to take the limo over with him to the show and get free drinks through out the evening. I did a fairly good job of pacing myself, however, the drink did get the best of me in the end. I don't normally drink much Vodka, but it was free flowing and I took maximum advantage of that fact. I met so many people that are all now just faces...no names to associate to any of them except John and the show's promoters. What killed me was on the limo ride back, I drank to what amounted to a whole glass of Goldschlager in rapid fashion. I had about half a glass left of my own from the ride over to the show, which I downed. And then proceeded to drink the rest of John's glass. Moments later John asked me where his drink was and I had to confess that I "sort of drank it all".

Overall, the night went smooth and was a great way to spend a Friday....and I owe it all to my girlie and the promoter's that hired her for the gig.

I managed to get a decent amount of pictures from the evening, but was badly handicapped by my moderately priced camera. It's not great for pictures in low light conditions as it likes to blur everything if its not mounted on a tripod...so I compensated by using the night flash setting which does a flash burst and captures light tracers any time the camera is moved within that burst. Its good for some cool effects, but I really would like to invest some money in a professional grade camera and lenses. There are so many moments when I could get excellent shots if I had a camera worth using for them. $1500 dollars from now, I could have one. I'm thinking that will have to be a goal for next year....

Alright, this is a little later than intended, but I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that came out to my art showing last Saturday at Stained Skin tattoos. It made for a great time that carried on late into the evening. Thanks to Durb, Alisa, and Anthony for allowing me to exhibit my works at an incredibly cool space for the duration of the month. To anyone interested in purchasing a piece or a print, feel free to email me and let me know. I'm having more prints made of the Driver: Exit Vehicle picture and they should be available shortly. Thanks again everyone for coming out and showing your support!

In other news...

After such a great weekend, the downside is I've been sick. I was scheduled to have another color session on my chestpiece, which I had to move back a week as there is nothing worse than getting tattooed when your immune system is already working extra hard to keep you in order.

Wednesday night was my two year anniversary with Meow. Despite the fact that we're both sick, we managed to go out and have a good time. We ate some great food and saw Grindhouse (which I think is one of the coolest movies I've seen so far this year. I loved every second of it). I coughed and hacked through all three hours of the movies, but it was still worth seeing in th theater. I sort of wish that we were both healthier when it came to celebrate the fact that we've been together for some time, but it didn't manage to really detract from the evening (thanks to my high-powered cough syrup friend). I love my girl so much, and wanted to make sure we both had a good time.

However, that is about the only thing I have done all week. It's mainly been me crashed out on the couch, or hunched over like Quasimodo in front of my computer when moments of energy sprout forth. Being sick is stupid, and this year has found me getting sick fairly often. Hopefully the trend will change...this is the second time I've been really sick in under two months.

Seeing as how I'm not feeling especially witty or on top of my game, I am going to end my blog right now. Hopefully I'll feel good enough soon to get back on track.

Adios.

So I'm scheduled to have an art show at Stained Skin Tattoos on Saturday, April 7th. I'm definitely excited about it and will make a post shortly in the various groups here so that it is listed as an event. I'll be sure to post all the details shortly.

Preparing for this show, recording an album, working on my website, and being sick have basically sucked away all my time resulting in no journal updates since last month. Its been sort of a bitch, however, I'm happy with some of the progress I've made in starting my album as well as getting my artwork together. Hopefully, things will all be coming together within the next few months. I've definitely had my work cut out for me.

Awwww yes....I saw Slayer last night at Promowest (I refuse to call it the LC) and what a good show it was. Needless to say, I can defintely tell I was at a show last night, judging by the way my body feels.

I got to the show towards the end of the opening act, of which I don't even know their name. They were decent....but nothing special. Certainly good considering they were a local band. However, Unearth was to come on after them...and I had never seen Unearth before. I was in for a good surprise...the only thing I had known about Unearth before the show is that my girlfriend Meow slapped one of their members in the face with a piece of ham while backstage several months back when they opened for Slipknot. Needless to say, right when Unearth took the stage was when the crowd seemed to be at its most violent. Maybe its because there wasn't as many people to cram in tight and there was more room for movement...Right when they opened up the crowd erupted and I immediately got tripped up and fell down (the only time I fell the entire show). As I was getting up I managed to catch an elbow right in the left eye...figures that at the moment my hands are down is when a lethal blow comes flying my way. Regardless, I continued on as the impact didn't open up my skin and only left a knot on my eyebrow line. Shortly after that, though, I caught a hefty hook right in the jaw...and this really got my gears going. For the rest of the show I caused quite a fair amount of mayhem and made sure that anyone in my way got pushed right the fuck back...something I know just a few people in the pit didn't expect from me given my size.

Unearth played a good set and I was happy to have had the opportunity to see them. After they left the stage I took the opportunity to walk around and ran into a few people I knew from Columbus and quite a few people I haven't seen in a minute from Dayton. Pretty nice surprise to see people that I used to know back in the day. I got offered the possibility of sitting in a box seat with a great view from my friend Kirsten, but it didn't pan out as the girl who had the spare pass was lost in the crowd downstairs. I made the best of it and busted through the crowd to the middle of the pit when Slayer took the stage. I figured I'd have more fun there anyways. There was certainly more people down in the pit this time, and a lot more shoving involved. I tried to lift this guy up so he could crowd surf but somehow he insisted that I get lifted up instead. It wound up being sort of cool cause people had me by my legs and I lifted straight up like a man levitating out of the pit right in front of Tom Araya. After I got deposited in front of the crowd I calmly walked around and then jumped back in for more where I continued to thrash for a few more songs until I started to get dehydrated. Once this happened, I retreated back to the bar and watched the final 5 songs in relative peace.

I have to say Slayer played a hell of a show and was easily just as good as last time I saw them at the Newport on the Jagermeister tour a few years back. Its funny how much they've regained popularity as the crowd at the Newport was a third of the size of the crowd last night. Other than that, there isn't a whole lot of shows that I'm looking forward to, which is just as good I guess. I'm really trying to focus my time on artwork and music.

Until next time...
