My EKG & echo cardiograms came back all normal, perfectly strong heart. Blood pressure normal at 120/80. Cholesterol within 5%, so just a bit of work there. No HIV, syphilis or prostate problems. Only the high uric acid causing occasional outbreaks of gouty arthritis, with a prescription to help lower that. Add to that the clean record from my dentist, and I'd say I haven't missed much by avoiding modern health care over the past 20 years or so.
So, roll on 2009, a year of health & happiness!
ps: I am reconsidering getting an African Grey and going back to the dog side, a Tibetan Mastiff.

The pic on the top right is Senge, the sire of the Tibetan Mastiff (Trojan) that I lived with a few years back (pre-SG). This breeder is the best, working hard to revive and strengthen this breed, which is regarded as the oldest dog breed in the world. Trojan looked just like Senge, and I’m looking for the same. These guys get to be about 150 pounds and almost 3 ft at the shoulders, terribly independent and great protectors but not randomly fierce.
