I feel like I've not been on here very much lately and that I've missed so many great sets, blogs and general SG goings on.
Summer is drawing to an end but what a summer we have had. almost the entire country has been declared a drought zone, not great for the farmers but look out for the 2013 wines, they should be pretty spectacular.
Highlight so far or since the last blog (it's been a while) has been the women's ASP world tour visit. I'm truly in awe of these girls and how driven, fit and fantastic they all are. They surf amazingly well, have time for autographs, chatting to fans and seem to always have a smile when they're doing it. I can't speak highly enough of them. Anyway some pics of the weekend.

We had the NZ Tattoo Festival this weekend and what an amazing experience it was It was my first time to an event like this and there was a definite shiver up the spine when you hear that tattoo gun, let alone the buzz of hundreds of them. We had the pleasure of seeing 250 artists from all over the world, It was good to see recognised names like Dan Smith and Nikole Lowe from the Ink series and some amazing artists and styles I've only seen in magazines. Some of the standouts for me were Minoru Tattoo from Japan with the Tebori style of tattooing, and possibly my favourite was Ania Jalosinska from Poland, her tattoos were just stunning.
Apart from the tattoos we had Burlesque Dancers Venus Starr from Australia and Bonita Danger Doll from Christchurch and Live music from Kitsch, The Bleeders, Cobra Kahn and Beastwars. A really enjoyable day.
Possibly the one observation I had was that tattoos and body modification is about individuality however when you get so many people together all tattooed, they all start to look similar. I know that if you analyse each person then they become unique again but I was really expecting to be amazed by all the individuality, I guess you only stand out from the crowd when you’re different.

Oh well its back to work tomorrow
I guess it had to happen at some stage. Thanks to everyone who wished me well with my recovery, the surgery looks to be healing well.
I can't believe how many great sets there are at the moment, if you miss a day there’s so much to catch up on, it's a good problem to have though
On the 24-25th November we have the NZ Tattoo and Art festival here in New Plymouth, there's over 250 artists confirmed and some big names from overseas, I can’t wait to go, I feel the need for some new ink and this will provide some much needed inspiration.
What else has been happening, We had Oktoberfest here at one of the local craft breweries, what a great day, a little worse for wear the next day mind you but to be expected. 1300 people and nothing but good times.

The weather here has been great, bumped into a mate and his daughter at the beach she is a real character.

And lastly we have new art behind the apartment

Till next time

Well that was a mixed weekend which started off with good intensions and ended up in A&E? What road trip doesn't huh?
It all started with lets take the Porsche out to watch the airshow?

Sounds like a good idea!

We get to the airshow and the car stops...typical, so we get out and push start it but a slight popping sound in my arm suggests that the day isn't going quite as planned.

Torn Bicep from the elbow (this is going to be fun). Any way the reason for the trip was the aircraft so here are a few pics

A bit of a plane heavy blog but that was my weekend! How was yours?

Wow there are so many great sets coming out, all stunning, all deserving of being on the front page, I'm trying to give them all the love they deserve. As usual it's back to work for me, finding it hard to get motivated to really do anything, the days are getting longer which is a good sign but still can't get past the couch, lazy I know!
I spent the weekend in Auckland a while back and went to the CRC Speedshow which was rather static and slow for the name but I did get to go a see a few great cafes and bars in the area, My fav has to be York Street Mechanics, a really cool place to sit and exist.

Last weekend we had a craft beer show in Wellington called Beervana, 271 craft beers this year with a few standouts. The local brewers from New Plymouth had a good haul of medals with one taking out the hotly contested US Ale style. Yakima Monster was judged to be the best example of a US Ale styled beer in the country in 2012. A great result for the team at Liberty Brewing.
In a months time we will be heading back to Auckland for the first flight of a restored de Havilland Mosquito. The restoration has taken 8 years and this will be the only flying example in the world!!! Cant wait...

Or maybe a blog about a lack of love. I've been single for so long that not only do I not have game but I think I've forgotten what the game actually is or how it's played. Since moving I have established what I would call the usual chatty connections with girls who work in bars, cafes, etc but isn't that part of their job to be chatty and friendly? I never see them outside of their work environment so I haven't been able to explore the situation any further and wouldn't feel right asking them while they're working. All I know is that I'm bored with being single.
Moving flats this weekend, hopefully for more than a couple of months this time. Been busy with work lately but on a plus side we now seem to be getting the fine weather we missed over summer, which means time out on the mountain bike and skateboard. Will post a few pics of the region later.
