Now I dont to seem like I'm complaining but how long can this weather last? It seems that we have had nothing but wind, rain and hail for the past three weeks, it just never ends. Took Friday off work and travelled up to Auckland leaving home at 4am to make the most of the clear roads, weather was cold and with the two main roads up the North Island closed the night before because of snow and ice there was some concern that we might have to wait it out for a while in the car, this was luckily not the case and we made good time. Hit Auckland at about 10:30am and went straight to the reason of the trip, New Motorbike. Had a quick look over the bike and everything seemed to look good so completed the paperwork and travelled to north shore of Auckland to visit my Mother (what a good son I am) Couldnt believe the weather when we woke on Saturday morning it was like summer again, blue sky not a cloud to be seen and hardly a breath of wind, a welcome change to life in Wellington. Drove back today with the weather getting wetter, greyer, colder every hour. Welcome back.
I think I have a vitamin B12 deficiency or something because for the past 2-3 weeks I've been finding it really hard to get excited and motivated about anything. Still I have managed one highlight for the week and that was Roller Derby, Wellingtons Richter City Derby League had their first bout on the weekend, very cool if a bit hard to follow at times (might need to read the rules). Good to see a full crowd turn up at a guess I would say 300 people maybe more, most having to sit on the court floor or stand against the walls for the duration but most stayed till the bitter end. Good to see the all the girls in their Derby outfits and I'm looking forward to the next bout whenever that may be. Off to find a multi vitamin then.
Well time to update this. The Christmas holiday season is over and now it's back to the daily grind, I miss not working. Had a fantastic holiday in Taupo, glorious weather most of the time, superb wine, and great people. Spent the days in the sun, boating, biking, swimming and reading books typical Holiday things.

Well it's finally here, the end of my week off and I can tell you it was soooo good not having to deal with the usual crap at work, I don't even mind that I wasted 4 days of leave to do nothing...
A friend of mine is heading off to Bali for 2 weeks and the whole situation over there is sounding pretty tense with some of the Guys responsible for the 2002 Bali Bombing are due to be executed, Hope things don't turn to crap over there and he has as much fun as I did during my visit.
