I'm so fucking horny right now.

Gah.

I'm listening to Benny Benassi.

Writing a paper on Annie Sprinkle.

Had a glass of red wine.

Haven't been touched in two months

(except by creep-fucks at work who should be kicked in the balls).

A friend is sending me dirty IMs.

On to other things.

Tell me your favorite personal sex story.
SEPTEMBER 2, 2007 @ 09:24 AM | 9 COMMENTS

I'm watching CNN Headlines News (there's a surprise, huh?), and they're showing the CNN Heroes segment. Today is a man, Jesus somethng, who distributes SIV meds to 3000 people in 17 nations through his almost completely privately funded organization, Aid for AIDS. Fuckin' A! What an awesome dude.

I think there needs to be a nationally sponsored holiday recognizing and showing appreciation for the scores of people who dedicate their lives to spreading aid and information on HIV/AIDS. Of course, our deeply homophobic and racist culture would never do that. Fuckin' Reagan and the AIDS scare. Sursly.

Oh to less weighty materials.

I'm super hungry. I really wanna go to my fav Vietnamese restaurant. The girls who work there were in my bar last night. Everyone who worked there, and a couple of customers, sent them drinks. hahah. I don't think the four of them weighed a combined 300 pounds. haha.

I'm really happy that I woke up as early as I did today. I went to the strip club after work last night and didn't get to bed until about 6 this morning. hehe. . . It was fun. One of their bouncers worked for us last night since we were short. He kept trying to convince me to go over there and dance. As did a couple of the girls at the club last night. This is a repeat theme. It would be awesome for my research, but I know I totally wouldn't be comfortable. The girl who gave me a lap-dance last night told me that she was drunk out of her mind her first night, two years ago. I hear the same thing from most of them. And a lot of them are drunk/drugged when they work. :-( Kinda sad. I know plenty of dancers who actively enjoy their work, so I don't want to sound like I'm generalizing or copping into stereotypes, but man. . .

I need to get some Irish oatmeal goin' on the stove or something. I'm frickin' HUNGRY. It's the weekend, though, and I'm PMSy, so I kinda wanna go get some kind of take-out or special food.

And a phone call later, my girl Amanda is on her way to get me. We're gonna jsut get whatever and then go to work and then get together again for beer and amazing bar food at Tanks (our fav after-work spot).

Oh happiness.

SO I'ma churn out the outline for my speech that's due tomorrow.

Love y'all.

Q:
1. What are your (general) religious/spiritual beliefs?
2. What do you do when you go to strip clubs?
3. Ever gotten a lap dance? How was it?
4. Do you ever eat bar food? What do you order?
5. What color is the sky outside the nearest window?

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

1. Western-ish Buddhist struggling with practice.
2. Watch the guys, drink beer, make the guys who hit on me buy lapdances for me and then I talk to the strippers, tip dancers with other guys' money.
3. Oh yeah. I love 'em. I talk to the girls and we tease the guys who stare at us. I always get them in the Champagne Room too. :-)
4. Oh yeah. But only at Tanks. Daytonians, you know what's up. I get the veggie burger (sometimes with fries that I soak in malt vinegar, stinkin' it up!!!), chips with their awesome home-made chunky salsa, and/or friend mushrooms.
5. Amazing blue with dappled green and crisscrossed with sand and copper (the pergola on my deck)

I feel like yuck.

I'm going to take the night off.

*gasp*

I know, I know. But I'm behind in my classes (yes, already), and I'm exhausted, and I have to be at my other job early in the morning tomorrow. So I'ma do the rational thing and use tonight to rest up, study up, and de-PMS. haha.

The party we threw at the bar last night was awesome. My new nickname is "Jager-Pussy". Classy, I know. We sold body shots, and a lot of Jagermeister ran down my tummy into my undies. I was sticky. Yack.

I'm really into all of classes this semester, so staying home tonight to work on school stuff is kinda sweet. I need the money, but I also need the study time and relaxation.

I'll be back at the bar on Saturday, so feel free to stop in, order a drink oe just hang out. Preferably, order a drink AND hang out.

ANyway.

I will share our schoolgirl pics as soon as I get them.

I'm hungry. Who wants to take me out for Indian food?

Qs:
1. What's your favorite Indian dish?
2. What's your favorite "ethnic" food category (Italian, Japanese, Mexican, etc.)?
3. What's your favorite thing to cook?
4. Do you watch Top Chef? Who do you want to win?
5. I'm obviously preoccupied with food. In your opinion, does it make a difference in a person's daily eating habits and overall health and well-being if s/he skips breakfast? Judging by what you've read in my blog today, do you think I ate breakfast? What kind of breakfast did I have, if I ate anything at all? (And no fair clicking the spoiler before answering!)

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

1. Aloo choley. I also like okra with curry.
2. Probs sushi. I have to have it at least once a week!
3. Hm. . . I lerv to cook. Baking makes me happy. Maybe I'll bake something tonight. . .
4. Oh yes. I think Bryan, the short gay guy with the 'hawk. He's young and awesome. I hate Hung, but it's a love-to-hate thing. He creates dramatic tension on the show. Of course, I'd love to see Casey or Sara whoop some ass since a woman hasn't won yet.
5. I tots think that. I've read enough studies to support my opinion, and I notice it in my own life, as well. I did have brekky this morning, but it ws small: just a fruit and protein smoothie. I usually have the smoothie and oatmeal, but I didn't have time to cook this morning. I also haven't had any of my usual snacks.

Love y'all. Have a good weekend!

I've been on a serious electronic music kick. Any recommendations for good DJs or songs?

I should have all of my books soon! :-) Yay! I can't wait to get caught up and be back on top of my game.

I might be applying for a researcg fellowship at school. My mentor thinks I'm probably already over-extended as it is and that the compensation for the work done in this particular fellowship isn't sufficient. Eh. My feminist studies prof sent me the info on it. I'm going to talk to the coordinator (the head of the human rights department). How great would a fellowship look on my already impressive academic resume? hm. . . Oh grad school. My mentor thinks I can totally get a fellowship or assistanceship for grad school. Here's hoping!

I've been taking a B supplement lately. It's amazing. I haven't had coffee in a long time. Don't need it! My energy is up and my mood is much more stable. My list of supplements:
multi vita-min 3x daily
vitamin C with bioflavanoids 3x daily
B complex 1x
magnesium, potassium & bromelain 1x
fenugreek and thyme 2x
acidophilus 1-2x
melatonin as needed

And lots of herbal teas. haha

I'm a pill-popper!

I'm loving all of my classes this semest. F'rills. I miss my girls a lot, though. I don't really know anyone on campus right now. I mean, I know people, but I don't have friends around campus. Makes me blue. :-( I'm getting a lot more done this way, though. I don't run off to play when I should be studying.

I jsut dick off on SG. . . haha.

nullRemember this?

Things I don't eat:
meat
dairy
eggs
other animal bi-products
wheat
barley
peanuts
high-fructose corn syrup
artifical colors
artificial flavors
preservatives

That's a lot. But I eat a lot too. ;-)

Meh.

This is the dumbest blog evs.

Q (just one this time)

How do your typically react to stress? Like mega-stress.

Your turn to ask me a question. I swear I'll answer it, no matter how strange, awful, irrelevant.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

Hives! Eeek! ANd I can feel my heart and throat chakras close and have a hard time breathing naturally. So I pump up the B6, D, C, and magnesium and practice my pranayama. And drink chamomile. When I forget or neglect to do that, I go nuts.

All of my reading and discussion in my gender/fem classes has led me to the revelation that I've suffered under sex role strain for many-many years. Like 24 of 'em. It's ridiculous what we do to children. As soon as we find out that a woman is growing a baby of a particular sex-type, we immediately begin assigning the fetus gendered attributes. The thing's first breath is given meaning based on its genitalia. God forbid the phallus be super-small or the clitoris super-big. (Read Foucault.) Everything an infant or child does is interpreted through the lens of gender. If a child behaves in a way that does not conform to social expectations of his or her stereotyped sex identity, we punish or sanction it. It's even more subtle than that, too. Male babies aren't cuddled as much or talked to as much. Female babies aren't allowed the physical exploration and noise-making. We give babies pink or blue crap based on what we think their gender is. BABIES CAN'T EVEN SEE PASTELS! We have to provide a fucking label so that we know how to treat them on the basis of a gender that doesn't mean anything to the kid. We're wrecking 'em from the start. Gah.

Growing up in a small, trashy Midwestern town, my politics and philosophies isolated me. Add to this the negative social sanctions of not being hegemonically feminine. No wonder I've continued to develop into who I am, so comfortable in "radical" theory, so eager to problematize and dissect society's institutions.

My knees hurt today. :-( Trader Joe's has vegetarian glucosamine tabs. I think I should suck it up and buy some so that I don't end up with worse problems.

I need to go read some C. Wright Mills. mmmmmmmmm. . . The sociological imagination. . . mmmmmmmmmm. . . The Promise. Oi. I still haven't gotten two of the three books I need for that class. Or the text for my psych o' women class (like that little play on words I did there? That's creative and kinda misogyno-funny, innit?)

I just farted. In the library.

I want Vietnamese food. I missed brekky this morning and didn't run. I was so tired and achy that I just stayed in bed until right before I had to leave for class. It was slow going getting here, too. Ick. I could feel my ouchy knees the entire ride. No fun.

Alright. I'm going to go get an Odwalla bar and read some classic sociological theory.

But first:

Qs:

1. Do you enjoy irrelevance?
2. Do you enjoy irreverence?
3. What's your favorite energy or protein bar?
4. What's your favorite candy bar?
5. Any opinions on high fructose corn syrup?

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

1. Only in my blog. Otherwise, it gets to be rather annoying!
2. Always!
3. Luna or Builders. Both are Clif brand.
4. Do they make vegan candy bars? 'Cause that would be sweet!
5. Ha. I don't eat meat, dairy, eggs, other animal bi-products, wheat, or peanuts. Whatchu think?

And Ohioans, don't forget the sexy schoolgirl party at Vue on August 30th. PM me for directions if you don't know how to get there.

First frustration of the new semester: I can't afford my books. And the most expensive one? The library doesn't have it. And I need to read the first chapter by Friday. Gar. What to do? Maybe ask my interweb friends to buy my books for me? I'll send you a personal thank you somethin'-somethin' and give you all sorts of props online. haha.

(No, I don't seriously expect this to work.)

Also: I'm hungry. I have an apple left of the food that I packed. I was planning to eat it before I went to work. I should have packed more than a salad and some fruit. . . hm. . . haha. I guess I could go downstairs to the Blend and get an Odwalla bar. They've got to have something gluten free. I could just try to stick it out until I get to that delicious chunk of raw tofu with brown rice and French green beans I've got waiting for me in the refrigerator at work. . . I really want the celery and cashew butter that's sitting in my fridge at home. Blast.

Argh. haha.

I had a really good run this morning, in case you care. The air felt amazing. Crazy humid still, but it had that clean, early morning edge to it that makes getting up to run after four hours of sleep feel so good. Mm!

Anyway. I need to go to my feminist theory and methodology class now. I'm really looking forward to this class. It's taught by the world-famous Dr. Leslie Picca (check out her work on racism). I love having internationally recognized scholars teach my classes. This is the third female prof I've worked with who has been on TV or has been otherwise recognized. Wee!

Ooh! They have popcorn at the campus bowling alley. haha. I just don't want to get to work and pig out on snacks. Given, my snacks are still a lot healthier than most people's ideas of a healthy meal, but it's the spike in blood sugar and caloric intake at the end of the night that I don't want. Not like I need to really worry about my weight, but maintaining my metabolism and overall health are super important.

And I need to get help for being a crazy person.

Qs:
1. What's the most you've paid for a text book?
2. The least?
3. What's your favorite part of autumn?
4. Where were you born?
5. Which came first: chicken or egg?

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

1. well over $100 for a hard-bound Norton anthology. More than once. Fucking English degree.
2. 99 cents. Who loves E-Bay? Me loves E-Bay.
3. mmm. . . Crisp mornings and evenings. Changing leaves. New beginnings. Apples. Pumpkins. Things made from apples and pumpkins. Squash. Hayrides. Halloween. Thanksgiving. Football. Oh man. . . I fucking love autumn.
4. A hospital. :-P
5. Egg. Because it's mama weren't a chicken. It's mama were a proto-hen. haha. Evolution, bitches.

And, oh:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
I'm blonde now.

First day of classes. :-) ANd I started it by over-sleeping (took melatonin last night) and was a minute late.

My first class is only for the first five weeks. It's the class that I dropped last winter when my grampa died. The instructor is South Korean and has a (fairly heavy) accent which makes it somewhat difficult to understand. He seems a little dry, but I think it's mostly a barrier in communication. Interesting fact: it's a communications course. . .

My second class is taught by my thesis adviser and mentor, Dr. Linda Majka. She's amazing. THe class is Sex Roles in Society (who's surprised that I'm taking that class!? haha). I'm looking forward to the class.

I'm meeting with my adviser in the English department tomorrow after my first class to get everything squared away for my first degree. I really don't want to find out at the last minute that I have to take 18-21 credits next semester just to make sure I get both of my BAs. THat would BLOW!

I have reading to do already. And I'm actually happy about it. haha. I just have to get to work now. Guh. I'm scheduled in right after all of my classes for the entire week. Way to go, boss!

Qs:
1. What was the favorite class you've ever taken (this includes high school or earlier)?
2. How often do you brush your teeth?
3. How long do you think I'll last before I crack under the time/money/stress pressure?
4. What's the most annoying song on the radio right now?
5. Tokyo Police Club. Love 'em or never heard of 'em?

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

1. mmm. . . I loved my thesis class on medieval literature.
2. At least 2x a day
3. First break down will be in six weeks. I'll get stressed out and bitch a lot three times before then.
4. Whine it Up or Umbrella (but I like the Postal Service version)
5. Love 'em!
