Signed up for RAGBRAI, last week in July. 454 miles across Iowa, on a bicycle, camping at night. What a ka-raaaayzee idea!

I did RAGBRAI in 1993. It was a great time! Granted, I was in college then and in good shape. smile

On more than one occasion I've thought about getting a motorcycle instead of a horse!

I love practical shooting. After shooting with interesting and changing target set-ups, shooting at paper targets is just plain boring. Hope you can borrow some gear or get your own and shoot soon. Good luck with RAGBRAI that sounds tough.

Can you buy mail order where you're at? I get my ammo from Cheaper Than Dirt CA tried to ban mail order ammo but it's being held up now and I can still get it.

The kevlar reflective tires on my bike are by Panaracer. They're the T-Serve Protex model. These tires are essential to my riding through the city as I aim to be seen. They're great tires all around and I would recommend them. smile

thank you for my birthday goodies. The martini was beautiful! The turtle burgers were definitely a creative touch and dessert was exquisite. Just wish I could get my mom outta there. wink

You need to think about doing this! I don't ride, but my friends who do were calling it "epic" long before the term became part of the popular vernacular. A week long ride across (or around) the state of Oregon, camping along the way, live music, hot showers, all the bike (and people) services you could wish for. Check it out! You know I'm always baiting you to come out here.

Here are a few more bike survival enhancers suggestions for you. smile
The lights I run on my bike go as follows:

On my bars is a Seca - Which was a gift from my father, and I just made this face eeek when I looked at what it retails for. That aside, it's a bright ass light and it's great for night rides.

Also on my bars from time to time is the NiteRider - MiNewt Mini. 150-USB, and the price is a lot easier to swallow.

On the seat stays I have two Spok Tail lights.

And lastly, on my bar ends I use Beacon bar end lights.

Thanks, doll. We're down to less then 24 hrs before we head down. I have to admit, we're totally nuts... we're buying the boat sight-unseen and moving aboard. LOL... It'll totally be an adventure.
