Had a hell of a scare this past week.
A good friend of mine, Maarten, is currently traveling through South America. He had just arrived in Peru a few days before the quake. He was staying at a hostel just a few KM from Ica (the epicenter). Everything around him basically collapsed during the quake. Thankfully he wasn't hurt. Though he had to spend a couple of nights in the desert he is now out of the disaster zone and safely in Arequipa.
To say I feel relieved is an understatement.
On a lighter note:
Another friend of mine just came back from Thailand ( I do have a lot of globe trotting friends
). She brought me back a hat:

Does anyone know how to say "I look silly" in Thai?
