Good news: I adopted a baby California Kingsnake last weekend and he is OH SO cute! He finally ate two pinks on Wednesday night I am so thrilled. His previous owners purchased him from Petsmart (UGHHH!) and they had him for about six weeks and he hadn't eaten at all. Pics to come soon if I can get my crazy digi camera to cooperate.
Not-so-good news: my year and a half old Western Hognose still hasn't eaten and it's been over four months. I took him to the wildlife clinic last weekend and had him checked out. He's still in good shape weight-wise, but if he doesn't get out of this crazy brumation/not eating mode within the next month we will have to force feed him

Had a busy (but fun-filled) weekend and my ass is DRAGGING. I finished up the semester on Thursday night and took a much-needed vacation day away from corporate hell on Friday. I volunteered at the nature center during the day and went and saw my good friend's band Mudcat play at Darwin's that night. I danced with a couple of cute hippie girlies and left toward the end of the last set because the cigarette smoke was absolutely unbearable (I just cannot tolerate it for any length of time). Of course, I suffered IMMENSELY on Saturday with a horrible smoke-induced sinus headache/migraine, but seeing the full band (sans trumpet player) was well worth it. Got my arse into bed around 2:30 AM...
I spent most of the day yesterday doing domesticated chores and then hung out with one of my FWB's last night to partake of some well-deserved stress relief of the adult kind (smile). I ended up going to bed around 2:30 AM again and it seems like anytime I stay up until 2:00 or 3:00 AM my body has a hard time adjusting the next day. Damn, I'm getting OLD.

Oy vey! I am still so freaking stressed about Grad school right now. It is SO DAMN HARD to work full-time AND attend an accelerated full-time Graduate program (for working adults, nonetheless). This is the last week of the semester and I am really looking forward to doing absolutely nothing (academically speaking) over the next couple of weeks. So I met with my academic advisor last week and completed my graduation audit - I am officially nine credit hours away from holding a Masters degree in Organizational Leadership. YAY! WTF? Now I can be an official corporate babysitter!!
Actually, I think I'm having a momentary lapse of reason because I'm halfway considering going for a second Masters. Time to call for the guys in the white coats....I've officially lost my mind.

Happy Hanukkah! I know, I know...I'm two days late, but hey...at least we have another six nights of fun-filled activities. Yay, latkes!
I found an injured juvenile Grackle near my office this morning. He was so pretty! I checked him for bleeding and wing injuries and kept him in a box at my desk for a few hours. I originally thought he may have head trauma, but luckily, after a couple of hours he began to stand on his own and I was able to release him from the top of our parking deck. YAY!!
So now, moving on to the annoying item of the week the uber-dork I met at my Aunt/Uncle's house on Thanksgiving. What in the hell was my cousin thinking when she gave this dude my phone number?? I'm SO gonna strangle her the next time I see her.
PS - have I mentioned lately that I completely SICK of Grad school???? I know, I know should be excited about all of the 'possibilities' that a Master's degree might bring. Fuck that. And I know I shouldn't complain since I only ONE SEMESTER LEFT.
PPS - I still haven't chosen a topic for my thesis. God, I suck.
