There are many things in life people take for granted. One of those things is the ability to walk. I haven't been able to use my crutches for three years now and let me tell you it makes me teary eyed thinking about how much I miss taking steps to make it across a room. I started the "Help Me Walk More Independently" fundraiser to give me that gift back. With the new medical device known as the "WALKAIDE" system, drop foot which is common in Cerebral Palsy patients like myself is prevented greatly improving their gait. Having such a device would make my dream of walking again a reality! Contribute just a dollar and instantly I will smile knowing that my feet are one step closer to moving across the room again. To participate in the fundraiser visit the following website:

Hey guys I need your help with something. There is this new assistive device for Cerebral Palsy patients who experience drop foot like myself called "WALKAIDE." This is great news. I immediately called my doctor and the company where I get my orthotic equipment hoping to get one. However, as usual my insurance will not pay for it. It costs $4000 dollars. Having this would improve my walking ability immensely. Oh how I would love to have it! I have set up a fundraising application to try to raise the funds to pay for the WALKAIDE system out of pocket. For those who would like to learn more about the WALKAIDE system you may do so at the following link:

For those who would like to donate you can do so through Go Fund Me: Help Me Walk More Independently Thanks, Chablis for the tip!

Much Love,
Jen kiss

My birthday is in 4 days and instead of thinking of ways to celebrate or what I would want from family and friends I must deal with heartbreaking news that life has thrown my way. First, my grandmother is being put into a nursing home and has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and end stage kidney disease. It is a bitter pill to swallow. I went to Charleston to see her recently. Since I live two hours away, my parents said I should come say "goodbye." Her memory is slipping. Every five to ten minutes she forgets who she is talking to or what was being said. She speaks frequently of wanting to see her mom, dad, sisters, brothers, and my grandpa, all of which are in heaven. I guess she knows it is getting close to her time to go, but I hate seeing her like this. It breaks my heart. I cry just thinking about it. frown To make matters worse, the bad news doesn't end there. I found out the day before yesterday that my only living grandfather is dying from cancer. It has spread from his colon to all over his body particular his spine. He is in tremendous pain and is refusing any kind of treatment. He is also experiencing internal bleeding for which he has already received over 7 units of blood in the last two days. I can't take any more. I know people do not live forever, but come on is it necessary for both my grandparents, the only two I have left to be basically dying at the same time? frown

Things in my life just has went downhill since Summer really. Pezmaster and I began the process of applying for a mortgage to purchase our first home together. Well, to make a long story short, we got to 9 days before closing and they denied the loan. eeek I was heartbroken. We were so close to getting out on our own only to have our dream shattered. So now we must wait until January to try again. Until then we are still stuck living with his parents and siblings. Do not get me wrong, I love his family. love However, it isn't ideal here. I have slept on a couch for three years. Pezmaster sleeps curled up in a recliner so that I can be somewhat comfortable on the couch. We have no privacy or alone time unless we spend money to go out of town due to the fact that there is 8 of us living in this small house.

I do not know I did not mean this blog to be so full of complaints. I am just not really happy these days. I need something to cheer me up. I need something to look forward to. I am having trouble concentrating on school. I am just restless....

So I have a birthday next Wednesday. WOOT! biggrin I will be 31 on the 10th of October. I am actually excited for this birthday for some reason. What would I like for my birthday, you ask? Well, the answer to that question is simple. I do not want gifts or anything expensive. Material possessions are not important to me. However, I do think that it would be awesome to receive birthday cards from you guys! I love getting mail and it would rock even more coming from people in the SG community! So put a smile on my face and send me a birthday card. PLEASE! wink

Here is my address: P.O. Box 724
Ansted, WV 2581

Let's see how many birthday cards I can receive from the SG community. I will be sure to send out personal thank you cards in return. Happy mailing....kiss

Well, well, well...I am alive, but barely. My life has become so hectic that I can hardly find time to breathe much let alone keep up with a blog. I still love all of you, though. I hope that in the future I will be able to blog on a more regular basis. As for an update...well...I promise one to come. I just wanted to stop by and say a quick hello and to say I havent forgotten about the wonderful folks of SG. I hope the same is true in return...wink
