Today my grandma's surgery to remove the cancer from her lungs was cancelled because it spread. She is no longer able to receive surgery, and has been given less than a year for her battle. Despite the news she refuses to give up hope that she will get better, she insists she will still live until she is 80, in 7 years.
Today we found out that my four year old nephew has Stationary Cone Dystrophy and is legally blind. He's a wonderful little guy who knew words like phalanges and discombobulate when he was 3.
Today it was confirmed that the surgery my uncle had to help his MS is no longer deemed successful and he is back to having no feeling and limited movement in his legs. Trying the surgery again would be too expensive and probably not successful. He's still happy and lighthearted, and refuses to give up to his disease.

I am sad that such horrible ailments are effecting my family, but I am proud that such strong individuals are surrounding me in my life. These three, and how they took the news today, gives me great inspiration.

It's awesome that your relatives are keeping a positive outlook through their struggles, and that you are inspired by them. That's a great state-of-mind to be in.

(Yeah, that sounds cheesy. smile)

I'm generally not a fan of peacocks, because artists tend to paint them in a very tacky manner, but you have a nice tattoo placement, and the peacock doesn't have the typical delicate, somewhat anthropomorphic, feminine characteristics about it. Artists often try to impart characteristics in Peacocks that make them look cute, and it usually just looks horrible. Yours just looks like a strong bird. You should see bete_noir's peacock painting. biggrin It's horrible but good!
