Sitting here early morning pre-sunrise, pre-babies laughing/crying/squeaking themselves awake. Craving breakfast but wanting to slow the morning down so I can just read and write and study for one more hour in peace. I love mornings, but they go by too quickly. The day slows down when you don't want it to.

I am so sick of Florida. I just want to go back to the desert and the mountains where my people are. This is strange to me, lately, because the only time I'm happy here is when it's raining, or when I'm drunk, or when I'm in bed . . . Or all three. Luckily we've had a lot of rain, lately, and I don't mind cheap red wine. Too bad I have to work . . .

I'm needing something. Something more, and something less. Maybe more sleep and less work? Maybe more time to write and less time to grind out work that makes money for others. More time with my family and less time with corporate slave drivers. More money. Less bullshit.

It's Friday, thank God, and my project team is going out for a morale-boosting Happy Hour(s) at 3pm today on the company dime. I'll take it easy, though - I'm trying to be very moderate in all my intakes, lately. I have ten pounds to go before I get to my target weight, and I do need to get to the gym tomorrow morning, and working out hung-over sucks. Oh well, off to work . . .

So I watched Children of the Grave last night on the Sci-Fi channel, and it simply wallowed in lameness. I had seen the one on the Ghosts of the Waverly Sanitarium a couple of years ago, and it was pretty weak, but this was absolutely worthless. Please find it on YouTube and let the Booth brothers know that they still have much to learn about film-making.

I haven't written anything in a while, but all is well. Not much new to report in this little window of time I have before work. Work sucks, of course, but it is a decent job, and most of the folks I work with are above average. We have a project team get together next Friday, at a local cantina, during normal work hours. It might be fun to see the boss and the other folks get their drink on - I know we all need a break.

I'll write more, and more frequently, from now on.

It's the new year. The last one's been amazing, and the twins turned one this month. I can't believe how lucky I am to have them. Life can still suck in many ways, but my boys make it all so much more bearable.

I don't talk much.

It's been near a year since I writen anything here, and now that I've done it I wonder who'll run it - through their minds and sympathetic thoughts, or jaded disdain for cheap, trite pot shots . . .

Who are you? Do you care about strangers? Do you see a challenge or do you see a danger?

Thank God it's flippin' Friday. Brutal week at work, again, and it hasn't helped that all I want to do is stay home in bed. I don't even want to go in today, when it's likely to be laid back and easy, including the mandatory fun office Christmas lunch. I didn't pitch in, anyway, so I'll be taking in a lovely Healthy Choice frozen entree to throw in the microwave. Roh, rell, better get moving anyway. Off I go. Yep, better get a shower and a bowl of cereal. Mmm, hmm, and I oughta feed the woofs, and maybe start a load of laundry, too. And what about the cat box - when did I scoop that out last, was it only yesterday? Hmm.

I really don't want to go in today.
