This weekend I joined a grand total of eight people at a screening of Dredd 3D. It's a very good example of mainstream, mid-budget British film-making, so I didn't begrudge paying the 3D premium as much as I would have done were it a post-converted 'Clash/Wrath of the Tits' or somesuch. I won't offer a full review, because it's been a long day and quite frankly I'm tired, but I will say that the most impressive and expansive element of this B-Movie was its texture. Paul Leonard-Morgan, the soundtrack's composer, is an integral layer of this cinematic fabric, and put me in mind of another wonderful drone artist, Ben Frost. Because the title of my favourite track is slightly spoilerific, I've hidden it, but if you enjoy it, the Frost underneath is also beautiful.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good Dredd was. Urban was perfect, and - yes - we have the same favourite Paul Leonard-Morgan track smile

Hahaha that he is. It definitely makes my job easy when I'm getting into beautiful lingerie in front of a gorgeous guy inside and out haha. I'm judging by Saiylor's comments that you're popping by to see us at the convention?

I thought Dredd was excellent and probably the best comic to film adaptation I've seen. Which is why it's so depressing that hardly anyone has actually gone to go see it. Even the 3D was well utilised and I usually hate that.

Does Nikita bite someone's finger off in that film?! If not off, then just bites it? I've seen it but a long time ago and I have the haziest memory ever! I remember watching it with my brother though, who adores films like that.
How are you anyway? x

I saw Ben Frost in Berlin a while ago, sort of by accident. It was all growling wolves and physically sickening low bass and I remember I was in a really bad mood and just wanted to go back to the hotel and read my book. I possibly missed a really cool experience but I just couldn't tune in to it.
