The guitars for "Fate" have been recorded as of last week. We now have 3 recorded songs (minus vocals) done so far. We've now switched gears from recording to writing. Obviously at some point we will get some vocals recorded, just a matter of saving up the money for resources. Right now we're trying to solidify some new tunes before doing any more recording.
At present, we are ironing out the structure for a song called "Faces In the Mist" and have already started composing the drum track. So far, things are going well.
As usual, more info will come along once it develops.

It's been a while since the last update, and for once there are some legit reasons why :p
Without getting into too much personal detail, finances has been very tight for all in TR. Trying to save any little money we can by commuting less (partially meaning not travelling to practices to save some gas money for instance) and using what money we can for new equipment has put some delays on practicing and recording for the past few weeks.
Things seem to be heading for an upswing though. Joe got himself a new guitar pod and it soumds great! His old one was having quite a few issues and he ended up trading up. We are about halfway through the guitars on "Fate" and so far we are all very pleased with the progress. Eventually we will end up re-recording the guitar tracks for "The Unknown" and "Lone Wolf", but before those 2 we will spend some time doing some writing and ironing out structures for some newer (and some not so new) tunes.
Hopefully things can get back to a smoother schedule and we can make consistent progress with the project.
Oh, and in other news...The newest pic in my "Stuff" folder is going to be the cover of the CD when it is finally done! It may or may not get tweaked between now and then, but this is pretty much how it's gonna look! Kudo's to Steve K. for the fantastic work! r..r

Another instrumental version of one of our tracks is done! "Lone Wolf" was completed recently and the band is pleased with the results! Next on the agenda is "Fate". The drum track has been started but it is still in it's early stages.
Hopefully Steve will soon be able to get a power supply for his microphone and we can lay down some vocals.
Recent Sundays (tomorrow included) have been unkind to the practice schedule. We've been getting together on Mondays instead. Thankfully that hasn't hindered much of our progress. It will be nice to get back to the Sunday/Thursday routine though. We can get a couple more hours of work into a Sunday as opposed to a Monday. Either way, all is going well in the Torrential Reign camp.

This past week I finished the drum and bass tracks to the song "Lone Wolf". This week the band will add the guitars and then we'll have another song ready for vocals.
After that I'm not quite sure what song I'll do next as far as drumming goes. I have already started "Ghost of Sparta", but we have 2 other songs that we play alot: "Fate" and "Re-Ensouled", so I'm wondering if I should do one of them next. The band will be getting together on Monday, so we'll discuss it then.

Finished another drum track for the Torrential Reign project. This one goes to the tune "Lone Wolf". The boys heard it during Sunday's practice and thought it was cool, so now the next step is recording the bass. I would be doing that today if it wasn't for my neck/shoulder soreness. I must have slept in an awkward position last night because when I woke up I had pain in my neck and it's been nagging me all day. Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow and I can get some progress done on the bassline by Thursday's practice.
That's all for now. Stay classy.
