I had a good New Year's Eve. Probably on eof the best in recent memory because I didn't go out. At all. I can't believe I never thought of that before.

We got some delicious wood-fired pizzas, got drunk, played scrabble, and watched an entire season of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia", which I now realize is one of the funniest shows of all time.

I'm contemplating school this year again. It's just really hard to find the money. The longer I wait, the farther away it seems.
I think a short, winter road-trip is in order.

A new... thingy

I've been starting to work in the office. It's been a bit better I suppose. I was sick of working in an office as of a few years ago when that's what I was doing mostly. I guess I'm ready for a change. Or an un-change. Either way, the people I work with now are far more reasonable than most I've worked with in the past.

Plans are in motion for a rad vacation next year. It's been a while.

This is the beer I'm drinking

I made it. Yum

Just got over a cold as well. Being laid up is a good excuse to do cool/lame stuff
This is the puzzle I just finished

It's wicked

This is the huge mp3 player I bought recently. I haven't spent this much money on a single thing for well over a few years, which felt weird.

It's nice. Portable music don't ya know.

This my desktop background

Almost makes me want to eat vegetables.

Bye.

It's hailing today.
A friend from work took his own life this weekend. It's been really hard on everyone.
I think we're going to do some sort of tribute for him. I really wish we could do something to let him know that we care and we miss him.
But we can't, because he's gone.

We've been moving. It's nice to be in a new place, it's set up so much nicer than the last place. It'll be a big change I think. I mean, I'm not some trophy wife so it's still pretty tiny by modern standars (I think) but I can't wait to be officially here.
Moving still sucks. Especially, since I seem to have at least twice as much shit as I did two years ago.

still several mountains of shit to move around.

I'm getting settled in, though. Tomorrow I will make a batch of brown ale and whip up some pizza dough. I can't wait for winter when baking and staying home all the time are normal, rational uses of time.

To rescue who again? Oh, that's right.

I've been really stressed about my job lately. The details are pretty mundane. I think that part of the problem is that I have an inate need to show certain people that I am better than them at the things they really work at. All these crumb people are like ants carrying their crumbs up a mound so they can say that they have more than some of the other crumb people. And I don't care about crumbs. And I want all the crumb people to know how small and petty their crumbs are when they look at me. But sometimes this is not a smooth way to go through life. And really, caring about the crumb people at all just sort of makes me a crumb person anyways.

But on to the important stuff, like:
What the hell should I have for breakfast?

Oh how hard it is to update you, journal.

Last weekend we took a tour of the Summit brewery in St Paul. I had never been. It was slightly disapointing. It was very brief and chocked full of white hats who were just there for the beer, but none the less fairly cool. Certainly better than anything else I would be doing at 10:30 on a Saturday morn (ie: sleeping, watching Hannah Montanna re-runs etc)

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

Neat

We didn't have much time to take pictures during the tour so there aren't many. the sheer size of some of the fermentors is pretty amazing.

Trying to look for a new place to live, too. Rent is fairly expensive up here. That just means it'll take longer. What I really want is a goddmaned house. But hell, me? I'm just waiting for Journey to the Center of the Earth to finally come out

In the meantime I'm listening to "Airbourne" (true story) and trying to decide if they suck or not. It really could go either way at this point

More later!

I'm always a bit behind when it comes to movies and pop culture etc. Mostly because I'm cheap.

That being so, I just saw "No Country For Old Men". It was really really really good.
Lke, really good. And I can't find a damn person who wants to talk about it. It's like trying to find someone to talk about who shot Mr. Burns

Anyways, it's been rainy for the past month or more and I just can't get enough of it.
P.S. God, if you can hear me... it's me Margaret. I do love the rain, just don't kill me in a tornado please.

So it looks like Krispy Kreme closed up shop and pulled out of Minnesota. That was pretty much what I had planned for my Sunday.

What the fuck is going on when a man can't get a hot, soft, freshly glazed, doughnut anywhere in America?

My ol' lady is out of town for the weekend. Gone down Florida way. Joke's on her though, there's snow in the forecast this weekend, and she's gonna miss it!
And thus begins the weeknd of porn, crapping with the door open, and playing music in a loud and annoying fashion.

Here is a filmed recreation of what this will most likely look like in the casa de pants.

Cheers!

Did some good old fashioned grilling today at the park right down the road. I was awesome weather for the first time this season. I'm already dreading the heat but it's nice as fuck right now.
I'm starting to really get excited to do some camping this summer. It's been way too long since I've been camping.
