Ok, time for my quarterly blog update. Thanks to sillyk for the motivation! What have I been up to? Not sure sg really cares, but I"m trying to be a good blogger or something. So I was in Denver, Colorado for three months and IT WAS AMAZING!!!! Seriously, I had a fuckin blast. I was totally captivated by the mountains, they have me forever now. We went on almost one hike a weekend for three months. I want to be a mountain man now.
We went camping at 13,ooo feet at twin lakes, it was breath taking. A friend brought his zombie killer and I kept watch over our camp for any walkers.
So back in ny and it's a bit of a let down, but it's wonderful being back with dear friends, creating music together again, putting on shows (I book shows), doing visuals for friends bands, making noise in my band Tumul. We played a sick show two weeks ago and debut new cockstumes. Here's a vid of it, I'm the monster on the left:::

You can skip around, it starts to get more crazy at 10:50. Oh, we have a 1000 watt sound system and I was throwing out insane sweeping and swelling bass tones that shook the room and of course all the balloons.

My birfday's also coming up!!! I'm excited b/c Tumul's playing on my birthday as we were invited to play a New Wave night and we'll be playing Gary Numan's Cars, from inside my car, with ton's s smoke billowing out and crazy dance lights. Psyched! I"m sure someone will capture that and I'll post in teh comments (can't do another blog for at least three more months).

This is what I do:::
Tumul plays the Dress Barn
Tumul is myself and Joe + n. We've been tearin up basements since '89. This show was dedicated to my lil bro who was in a terrible accident three weeks ago and is making a miraculous recovery. He had less than a %20 percent chance to live after the immediate emergent surgery and not only is he talking with sass already, but he's melting nurses hearts and he actually stood up for the first time yesterday! (w/help of course).
So I'm tha dood in the back and all my (inaudible) lyrics are words or phrases my bro has said since he awoke from his coma 5 days ago. I'm mostly saying "you lay down" which is something my bro said after he was sitting up for 20 mins while nurses were holding him up. When it was time for him to lay back down, the nurses told him to lay down and he didn't want to (when I asked him if he felt comfortable sitting up he said "it feels good"). So when he wouldn't lay back down, the nurse got close to his face and said "lay down" and he looked up and said "you lay down". My father and I couldn't help to bust out laughing, he is such a trip. We teared up as it was the first time he was giving some sass.
The second part of the performance I start to demolish an innocent rubber plant with my head and then continue to wrestle it. I called this part "formula of impermanence". I wanted to act out how fragile our lives are and how beauty in our lives can be destroyed and taken away at a blink of an eye. These last three weeks have deeply changed my life and I have a depth of gratefulness I have never felt before.
I can't tell you how wonderful it feels to kiss my lil brother on the forehead every day I see him now.
