So I hit a couple coffee shops today to drop off applications. No one's hiring except Spyhouse, and that's for a full time barista. I'm pretty sure that working full time at a coffee shop would not pay my rent, but right now I need money, and I need something stable. Spyhouse wanted a resume, so I handed the girl behind he counter (with 2 noserings, visible tattoos, and a bridge piercing) my 3 page resume. I was an "Assistant Student Manager" at the coffeeshop in college, so I put that up top. I order some hummus and a coffee, plop myself at the bar, and do a bit of knitting. A few minutes later the girl asks if I can come in tomorrow at 9:15 for an interview. W00t!!

So if I get a full time coffeeshop job how do I pay the rest of my rent? My folks are helping me out now, but I don't want them to. Coffeeshops were always my "if I need to get a second job..." kinda thing, but if they're my primary job what do I do for a second one? And would that leave me any time to sleep?

I don't want to work with a temp agency anymore, but it's so hard to find a good biology job without a temp agency. All I want to do is run assays in a lab. Sit some equipment in front of me, tell me how to work it, and then just let me go at it hours on end 40 hours a week. I'm sick of stupid meetings, I'm sick of dealing with administrative bullshit, office politics, false promises from management, and the illusion that what I'm doing is all very vital and important. I just want to work. If I get a coffeeshop job I'll have to deal with alot of bullshit, but if I get a local shop job I can show off my tattoos and piercings. lol It seems trivial, but I'm getting sick of being labeled the "wild one" at work when I'm not really wild at all. Ooooh boy, I go out partying once a week! That's livin' on the edge!

It would be nice to get back to that pissy barista attitude again. Especially since I seem to be running on a mean streak as of late.
