Hitting a downer tonight. No idea why.

I'm singing for Kid Ego again, they've given me the frontman slot for the second time, for the 23rd of December, seeing as Henry Rundell's decided (or not) to leave (or be ousted) from the band, with several inklings and lots of overtones that they want me to take over. Maybe that's just my Axl Rose side coming out, but hell. I'll enjoy singing for a band I've been listening to for over 3 years for one more night at least.

This week, I've been listening to Billy Joel's "Piano Man". Went to the local tonight, Bar Bliss, for the weekly karaoke night.

"They sit at the bar and put bread in my jar and say "man, what are you doin' here?".

Story of my life over the past year. I don't want to ever be a diva, but I want to make some fucking noise in this world. I've got a job, I'm making a wage, but FUCK I want to get out there. Every thursday I'm at Bar Bliss, singing away, enjoying the camaraderie with the great singers in Kirky (and there are a lot of them), but...

I want to know that I'm destined for greater things. I can still put things in italics. I'm not drunk enough.

My main band SwitchBlade Scream are going to Italy in march, and I've said that I don't want to get involved with anyone til then. But fuck, am I lonely right now. I work for 3 days, then I spend my 3 days off partying.

I need someone to talk to. Someone I can tell everything to, that won't really care if it's at 3 in the morning and I don't really have a reason to be down. I haven't seen enough of my best friends lately.

More beer, then a good movie. One more day off tomorrow. I'm gonna make the most of it.

I have a headache. So I'm drinking a cup of tea, watching Firefly and accepting the fact that it's gonna be LOUD in rehearsal today.

So! Update... Get involved:

I've sat my last ever uni exams, hopefully I'll get the results I need to graduate finally, and get out of that place. I've decided that academia isn't for me at all, and I'm gonna start carving a career out for myself in singing.

It's not going too badly already, My CV's looking good. I can add the fact that I've played 4 sets in 3 years at the Wickerman festival, I work with the Loud 'n' Proud Rock Orchestra and have played many prestigious venues with them (the ABC1 in Glasgow is gonna be the next one) and a little fact that I'm seriously excited about:

I'm gonna be playing 2 dates with Kid Ego as a stand-in for Henry Rundell at the start of september in Newcastle and York! Can't wait. That's gonna be all kinds of awesome.Anyone wants tickets, gimme a shout. Haha. It's gonna be killer!

Since I last updated, I played at the Wickerman Festival for the 4th time, (3 years running), and the crowd looked like this:



Damn, that was fun. Might even put that at the bottom of my CV. Hehe.

"I sang to this!!!" It's been like that consistently for 3 years, too.

Ok, so, at a party a while ago, the lovely (and slightly unhinged) Dixy asked me to take a video of her at some random-ass drunken point in the night.

Hey all, I'm feeling a little better. I've decided just to take life as it comes for a while, and try not to worry about anything. I'm pretty sure I can get away with at least that for now.

In other news, I have a new goal. At one point in my life, I don't care when it is, I HAVE to look this damn cool...



Haha. It might be tonight! I'm off to a party tonight for the album launch of my bassist Kennii Blakk's other band, Peepshow. Not sure if he's going to be playing bass for us for very long though, the frontman running Peepshow is asking for exclusivity i.e. Kennii has to choose between bands. I won't deny, Peepshow are in a better place. But not for long... And I've said that for aaages, too. The Toyz will rise! Eventually. Probably without one of their founding members.

Well, life was going well, still is, I suppose, but it could be better.

Lots to talk about though, so expand the blog. Woop.

My bands are doing well, the 'Toyz are becoming stupidly productive again, we've got block-booked studio sessions on tuesdays. My metal project's doing well, too.

Still looking for another job, call centres seem like the best bet, but i've also (hopefully) got a small job every monday night in Bar Bliss (my local) performing magic at the poker night. Hopefully that won't fall through.

After going out with an acquaintance of mine, the girl I was seeing and going on about a while ago is now single again. Just when I seem to deal with things (not that they rule my life, but they still niggle at the back of my brain, what's that about?) things have to go and change. Just the thought that she's back on the market is making neurons fire and nerves jangle that shouldn't fucking care. Aaaargh.

Get a fucking grip, dude.

I've got one, I swear, I just go a bit flaky sometimes.

Oh yeah, I went to see the truly fantastic Hanoi Rocks at the Cathouse the other night, fuck me, what a gig! I never thought one of my top ten gigs of all time would be in such a small venue, and it's usually shit. Haha. Seriously, Mike Monroe is a wizard with a mic, spinning it around, wrapping it around his neck and just being a fucking awesome frontman. The band were so professional, as you'd expect for a group of people who've been around for as long as they have, but seeing them in such a small venue, you forget how popular and massive they actually are.

Ok, remembering that cheered me up lots.

Ok guys, I need help.

After fuck knows how many years of loyal service, my NES has has finally bitten the dust. It only works for a maximum of 30-45 seconds, then goes mental on me.



I've decided not to give it a decent funeral, but instead to play Frankenstein and make something out of it!!!

I've got two controllers and the computer unit itself.

I need ideas! What should I do with the old girl?
