Well, wife left me this summer...I'm moving in less than 2 weeks...busier than ever with art and horror conventions...so.......goodbye everyone!! Can't really afford to keep paying for this site. I've been a member since 2006 and I still love SG...unfortunately, it's just one more expense that I don't need right now. Best wishes to all of my friends here on SG, you rock the coffin!!

This is the official program art for the 2010 Scarefest Horror and Paranormal Convention . It's the largest convention of this type in the U.S. and it's taking place this November in Lexington KY. Featuring some of the biggest names in horror including George Romero, Tom Atkins, Adrienne Barbeau, and MANY more to be announced. I was lucky enough to get this gig after doing the artwork for the promoter's Ghost Walk last year.
I worked this con last year and it was a ton of fun. The guests were top-notch, cool movies screened (though I couldn't get away from my booth long enough to see any of them), and the venue was huge. There were celebrities (that weren't even guests) just there to check out the event. I happened to met a few really cool people from SG there also. This year there are a few new additions and surprises including a concert with loads of bands and a Miss Scarefest Pageant. Hopefully I'll see you all out there again this time around. Pieces.
Howdy everyone!! I know It's been a little while since I updated, but I've been super busy. I had a blast at the latest HorrorHound Weekend in Cincinnati this past month. I got to meet Elvira for the first time! I was lucky enough to get to hang out with the entire cast from Night of the Creeps (tied for 1st place as favorite horror movie!!) and Quinn Lord (Sam from Trick r Treat). My wife was also with me (for the first time) for the entire weekend, she doesn't normally work these things. However, she had so much fun that she now wants to come to all of em.
I did a couple of new prints for the show including the Elvira one (posted in this blog) and a brand new painting based on a segment from the first Creepshow.

The "confident" pose-down at my booth.

Me & Jason Lively (Night of the Creeps, European Vacation)

Me & Tom Atkins (Night of the Creeps, Creepshow, My Bloody Valentine 3-D)

Me & Jill Whitlow (Night of the Creeps, Ghost Chase)

My wife Heidi and Michael Gross (Tremors, Family Ties)

I also just had two paintings in art shows over the last week...one in Burbank CA. and another in Cincinnati OH. My painting in the Cincinnati show won the "Artist Choice" Award!! I didn't even think I had a chance considering I did a Winnie the Pooh piece for a horror show. The painting were all on Vinyl albums and mine happened to be a Winnie the Pooh record. I figured since it was to raise money for Childrens' Diabetes, it couldn't hurt to be family friendly. I still can't believe I won.
Here's the pic.

Hopefully everybody has a great X-Mas! I'll see you when I see you.

-Dick

Howdy everyone!! Who's ready for some more horror?!?! HorrorHound Weekend is always a fun time and ALWAYS manages to get top notch celebs. I signed on early for this one, and I'm so glad I did. This coming event is in one week, and not only are they doing a Night of the Creeps (my favorite movie) reunion AND a Children of the Corn reunion, but it's being headlined by Elvira!!! Holy crap!!! Head on over to the HorrorHound Weekend website and see who else is joining the party this time around. The list is huge, and they'll be showing films all weekend as well. If you live in the Cincinnati area and want to get a jump on your X-Mas shopping, then come on out to the event. If you do, stop by my booth...mention this blog, and receive a free signed mini-print, plus see all of the brand new art that I haven't posted yet. Hope to see you there!
Here's one of the brand new pieces from my "Deadly Thinkers" series. Come see the rest this weekend!!

Season's bleedings and happy (early) Halloween to everyone! I first want to apologize for not being as active on here as I used to be, especially for not viewing/commenting on blogs and images in my inbox as often as I probably should. I've been super busy (in a good way) and doing all sorts of things that are different lately, so once again thanks for the continued support! And for those that have asked, the new Celebrity Death Poll will be posted very shortly. On to the fun stuff...

First thing's first, how the HELL is everybody?! I don't update SG much these days, but I still check it regularly. I hope each of my friends on here is doing well, and are ready for some new humorously horrific artwork (including the newest Celebrity Death Poll that isn't even on my website yet).
