How long have they been on to me john wondered weeks, months, years? Could they possibly know to what extent I have gone through the sacrifices I’ve made, when did I slip what gave me away? The thoughts ran through his head like electricity. The burning white light flashed and his eyes clamp shut.
Dark again, he opened his eyes; the room slowly comes back into focus. No view, he casually noticed the window on the wall to his left was to high and set to deep into the cinder block wall to let anything more then light in to the room. He remembered windows like that in basements and schools.
“No view” again this time aloud waiting for some sort of response. Silence. “Hey, you know last time I was in a room like this was school.” He laughed nervously at his observation. The small room was so silent that the ringing in his ears and the sound of his heart beating began to deafen him “why?” he screamed. And again the pain in his head clamps his eyes shut and the all to familiar odor of singed hair filled his nostrils.
