They're like a much racier version of Twilight. Sookie and Bella are both Mary Sues, both have a particular mental talent that makes them attractive to or attracted to vampires. There's quite a bit of sex, though.

The city workers have been on strike for six weeks. Canada Day celebrations were cancelled (super lame, especially since the city managed to pull of Pride just fine), all the city pools are closed, lots of stuff was affected.
